I’m a pats fan so I’ve loved him, but I really think people are gonna like him if he’s on tv. Honestly even pats fans will get to see more of his personality the players talk about.

Bill seemed very high on JJ
The tape showed absolutely nothing great. A couple quick releases and a downfield misread. This guy is going to struggle, after a few seasons he may get it together but no telling.

He drafted Brady, Edelman, Gronk, Chandler Jones, Richard Seymour, Devin McCourty, James White, Matt Light, Matthew Slater, Vince Wilfork, Dont'a Hightower, Logan Mankins, Stephen Gostkowski, Jerod Mayo...the list goes on. All of those guys were key parts of Super Bowl winning teams. But sure, he wasn't a good drafter 😂

Wow, it's interesting seeing this different side to Belichick. He's animated and engaging, and I enjoy hearing his insights, and being a Viking's fan I couldn't be more stoked on how this first round went.
Same here…and you’re right, Bill seems happier doing this now.
I think he just hated the media when he was coaching. I once saw a video of him interacting with Randy Moss and he seemed pretty cool with his players. The only ex player to say anything bad about him was Wes Welker with some sour grapes.

I do agree Maye will also be a bust. But JJ is absolutely not an upgrade from Cousins. Minnesota will meddle in the middle of the pack for the next decade

For how little Bill talked to the media over his career, whenever he was asked a specific, technical football question he always gave really good answers. Now he gets to do that all the time.

MI fan here. You're a better team with him on the squad, kid can play. I'm a Lions fan and even tho you're in the same division I can't help but be happy for y'all and hope that kid gets the right coaching (I'm sure he will with KOC) and he has a great NFL career. I made a bet that he will have the better career than majority of QBs taken in this draft in 5 years and I bet a good amount on that.

As a Vikings fan it will be refreshing to have a QB that is mobile. Kirk was a decent QB but lacked the ability to make things happen with his legs.
kirk's processor is just too slow especially under pressure. that deer in the headlights for second and then it was too late.

He actually reminds me a lot of john elway. Big strong makes good choices and loves to win. If he has john's attitude and does not back down spends a little time in the weight room, puts on 10 lbs. To absorb bigger hits, He could become the minnesota messiah.

I used to be a fan but when they screwed us taxpayers on the stadium and put it in the wrong spot I turned against them.
Vikings had a solid 1st round. Didn’t need to sell the farm for JJ McCarthy, and *still* were able to get Dallas Turner (best edge rusher in this draft) without selling the farm. Brilliant by Kwesi and KOC
watching bill on draft night was so much fun. seeing a virtually unknown side of his personality is really really cool. can’t wait to see bill doing tv this season

I think Minnesota got a great young quarterback with a great mindset and awareness and can scramble if he needs to very very accurate with passes!! Very smart quarterback
I'm not sold on JJ. I think his size is going to be an issue.. I see him getting swallowed up by an aggressive NFL defense.
Bears get Williams and Odunze, Vikings get McCarthy and Turner and Lions get Arnold. Even the Packers got a decent tackle in Morgan. NFC Central did really well on the first night of the draft.

Broncos and raiders were likely in trade talks as well so Vikings probably had to make a better offer to hold them off. Or the jets called up the Vikings and said ‘we’re trading this pick if you can’t match or do better’ as a bluff for extra picks. 😅
The league is QB hungry and has been for years now. The QB is everything to the teams because the defenses are awesome and the QB can always change the game with 1 play. Other teams wanted him, you have to go get him if you want to be sure you are getting him and can not just hope he falls in your lap(which in this case he basically did fall in there lap). I am willing to bet KAM was on the phone for every pick to that point until he got one that made sense and took it.

I like that "take what they give you" mentality, where Coach mentions not every play will be an 80 yard TD. Kirk Cousins is really good but did have a tendency to force it downfield rather than take the gimme. Very, VERY intrigued by a guy who is more conservative and only pushes it when it's required. In MN, hearing that he's a former hockey player certainly doesn't hurt either He'll fit right in, in the "State of Hockey." Welcome. Skol!
Tom Brady is the goat largely because he always took what the defense gave him. He didn't mind dinking and dunking down the field if the defense was taking away the deep shots.

As a lifelong Patsfan I have a love/hate relationship with belichick. But I enjoy seeing this side of him. I think if he was more like the way he is on this show with the local media he probably would still be the coach of the patriots

Watched McCarthy and there's something about him he just has it. NFL won't be to big for him he should have a really good career . He just makes plays that during the game put his team in a position to win. He doesn't get rattled always keeps his mind calm during the game Minnesota I think you have a legitimate franchise QB now who's young things just got a whole lot better for the Vikings . NFC North is going to be really tough on all the franchises whoever ends up winning it is going to be a Superbowl contender. The runner up in the North could be capable of winning a Superbowl. This coming season is going to rock, Lions, Vikings, Packers and Bears oh my!

As a Lions fan, I’m disappointed that we have to face him twice a year, but I wish him the best
Everyone has connected him to us prior to the draft, he wanted to play for us. I kind of think he will win a couple of superbowls now.
Happy for JJ but feel bad for Michigan. One more year would have bee better for his development. Winning a National title is a huge achievement but throwing a young QB into a position where everything happens so fast and bigger.

Alot of picks are not good fits for a team, but this is a great fit. Jj is a winner flat out.
As a lifelong Patriots fan Bill Belichick is the worst offensive draft decision maker in pro football. Unparalleled in selecting defensive draft picks but a horrendous judge of offensive player potential I would never trust his judgement of offensive players.
