  • This was basically a modern day version of New Blood, similar storyline in WCW in which younger guys were put together on war with older guys. Not suprisingly, Sting, Nash, Booker T and Steiner were all involved heavily in both storylines. However the roles were reversed this time. In WCW, older guys were pushed as faces, while younger guys were pushed as heels. Many saw this as the reason that New Blood storyline was not working out, as it turned audience against the younger guys, including Booker T and Steiner who were members of New Blood, and they cheered for older guys. This time they did the right thing by making older guys heels in war against younger guys. And it totally worked out.

    • It's funny how nostalgia can be. If i remember correctly at the time, the Main Event Mafia was blamed along with Hulk Hogan and Bischoff for pushing older wrestlers instead of the younger guys on the roster, which ended up being one of the reasons for the downfall of TNA.... oh wait, impact wrestling.

      @themastermind5638@themastermind563810 ай бұрын
    • @@themastermind5638 Definitely not, we’re were enjoying the Mafia because they were feuding with The Originals over Power and Respect. Admittedly this was Russo’s, so I’ll give him credit on that. After that with Hogan/Bischoff/Flair saga, yeah it was like F**k this lol
