Wes Borland pulls the curtain back on several pieces of musical equipment and art that will go up for sale. Straight out of his personal collection. Enjoy.

@danieled1158 i like how you put that and mostly agree, though i would expand to point out that distaste doesnt have to be born of incomprehension to be valid and legit. some so-called art, of any/all medium, audio/visual, is created as a mockery of beauty. It poses as art, pretends to merely attempt to inspire inspiration or confusion, deep thought, feelings etc.... A bastardization only intended to inflict degeneracy onto a people and society. Even art that intends to call to mind sorrow is still art, though I don't enjoy it, is still art. I cannot call some things "art" that seek to destroy. There is a real darkness in this world that employs many methods to enter our minds.

Wes was such a huge inspiration to me as a young musician. Before I discovered Limp Bizkit, I thought guys in bands could only have one role- a guitarist was a guitarist and that was it. But then getting into LB and learning that Wes was not only an incredible guitarist but he was also this eccentric artist who wore crazy self-made costumes, did absolutely gnarly paintings and also had bizarre custom-made 4-string guitars and stuff just blew my mind. He's got to be one of the most underrated musical personalities of the last 25 years.

Not only can band members play multiple roles, sometimes their roles are completely non-musical. So many visual artists and road managers get left out of the "official roster" on Wikipedia because record labels don't see them as vital to the process. I'm thinking primarily of the early years of Public Image Ltd and The Human League for example.

art is a language, you can understand some and some not, but if the language is rich you can feel it even if you dont like it, we tend to minimize and criticize what we dont understand/like wich is a big mistake
@@danieled1158 "if the language is rich you can feel it even if you dont like it" You can feel it even if you don`t like it, just like explosive diarrhea. Not understanding something and disliking something are two very different things, nobody is Bizkit-phobic, and rap-metal is not art. @@afrog2666 dude you just used the word "derp" unironically in almost 2024. No one's taking you seriously.

Man. What an unassuming, chill dude. I would have never expected that sort of personality after seeing him with LB. Absolutely someone you'd love to just pick the brain of.
Right? Would be so cool to see and meet him in an airport, for example. Almost no one would recognize “plainclothes Wes”, meanwhile, I’d buy him a coffee or a beer and ask him all sorts of questions while we wait for our flights. 🎸🤟🏼
I bumped into him in Detroit - oh...it was probably 2002? He was super kind and pretty soft spoken actually.
right?
He and his wife were rescuing some cats over on my street in Detroit - he just walked over to my truck and put out his hand to shake, "I'm Wes". I saw his DYI series and know the developer he's associated with so I knew he was in town. . . so I just shook his hand and said (like an idiot lol), "Wes Borland?" We never spoke of LB and talked about the cats. He and Carre had like 9 on the DYI series and they were active in TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) to help a healthy cat population in the 313 D. . .
He’s a satanist not a chill dude
Must be amazing having been part of one of the biggest bands of an era and most likely being able to walk around any given city without fans recognizing you wherever you go. I can name a bunch of songs he plays but couldn't have recognized him in a line of french bakers

When I was a teenager in the late 90's I began listening nu metal bands and LB was one of my favorites and my hero from the band was this man, I loved his performance, customs and energy in the video clips and concerts. Nice to see you again Mr. Borland.

Wes set LB apart from all the other numetal (and really, a lot of other hard rock/heavy metal overall) for me, Im a guitar player who enjoys all genres, but with an ear for jazz and blues, although I certainly enjoyed a lot of 90s/alt/grunge/rock/metal, etc when I was younger.
