  • I never realized these weird movies I loved growing up were all Tim Burton until I was older. But then later, I realized that pretty much every movie scored by Danny Elfman I love. Those Tim Burton movies without Danny Elfman would not be the same. His music is world building. Every opening song you feel like you are on a journey into this specific world. The syncopation, heavy low brass, the ethereal violins and choral additions. They don't follow the usual epic thematic rythyms and chord schemes. Each movie he puts a new thumbprint on it. I'm the biggest fan. I actually make it a point to watch movies he works on.
