  • The media is trying hard to discredit MK

  • Shaka was using the Spear and Shield, does that mean ANC have the right to this goodwill. Surely the common law rights should be evoked by the Zulu King.

    • All African tribes who were fighting colonialists when they sat foot here used the spear and shield. Those were African weapons not Zulu weapons. As Bushmen and Hottentots used bows and arrows.

    • @BJamnes29 what are you on about? The issue is not about a spear and shield but taking a name and symbol used by a political rival to create an image that it’s a continuation of the same organisation. Zuma as defacto leader of MK Party has categorically stated he is still a member of ANC and is using MK to change leadership of ANC outside elective conference. All other political parties that came out of ANC like INkatha, PAC, UDM, COPE, EFF etc distance themselves from ANC & are trying to bury it. MK Party could have chosen a different name, different colours and whilst at it they could have chosen an image eg of a warrior holding the spear facing upwards and shield to the side… there are so many different poses. The reason why they didn’t do that is because they are trying to be deceptive and are spoiling for a fight.

    • @@khaltsharivist365 I am against the insinuation that the spear and shield was used by Shaka exclusively, as a Zulu king. All African kings used the same weapons when they were fighting colonialists. There is a false narrative which is being perpetuated that it's only Zulus who fought wars or have a culture. All African tribes have their cultures, but the weapons of war were the same, the spear and the shield.

    • In other words, no group should appropriate the spear and shield for itself to the exclusion of others. If so then neither the ANC nor Legacy project should make claims.

  • The Spear of the Nation: the statement speaks volumes! It says, it can't belong to anyone or any group but for everyone or all groups called nation.

    @user-gu4df7mk6x@user-gu4df7mk6xАй бұрын
    • It was not called ‘spear of the nation’ via referendum or by parliament. It was called that by a political party that founded the MK as a military wing, same party that calls itself a ‘national congress’. Fact is Umkonto we Sizwe has been associated with ANC since it’s formation in 1961 headed by Mandela. That has never been in dispute until 2024 when people now want to feign amnesia.
