Ukrainian army sappers are clearing a shtload of mines and they are securing the flanks. In the meantime the Russian army counterattacks and is wiped out of the last defensive line in the Surovikin line that actually was less formidable than the windbreaks in front of it.     • @@RazAlGhoul898 There was an early attempt (last week) to insert IDF by helicopter. They didn't make it out of the building the repelled down to. There have been quite a few large skirmishes aong the southern breeches and the town north of Gaza. They're going to figure out that it's not 2003 anymore. IDF is so averse to casualties that they hide the number of deceased IDF troops and security forces to the number of civilians killed, to mask the numbers.

Releasing 2 elderly ladies from captivity is compassion and compassion is a neccessity, not politics or a sign of weakness.     • The reporting here is wrong, it is designed to make Hamas look scared and weak. Hamas were going to release up to 50 hostages in exchange to hostages that Israel hold, they have an estimated 10'000. One particular hostage that Israel held that Hamas wanted, mysteriously died. The speculation, is that this has caused the breakdown in negotiations for the release of 50. However, i do agree Hamas were very clever here, deciding to release 2 old ladies, not to stall Israel going in, like being reported here, but to instead gain more support from the international community.

  • Good report. Not least, the US will push to stall the official entry of the ground troops because it will result in huge casualties on both sides. This will make it hard (even) for the US to continue their position within the international community. And history is replete with examples of sophisticated military machines entering urban environments against a determined defender who will grind it and being completely exhausted after a long campaign.
