    • They have one _"small"_ problem. While most nations have a wide range of players with different body types, while _(South)_ Korean players, same goes for Japan, have a pretty homogeneous set of players. The central defender often looking just the same as the central forward/striker. I know that they can't just change their genetics and they're doing the best they can to compensate it _(SK and Japan being Asian football powerhouses)_ but it's just a general minus point, that they have to deal with. No one can _"crack the genetic lottery"._ Edit: Are they still having military football clubs? I always loved seeing South Korean players, that are currently doing national military service, were saluting the flag during the national anthem, instead of putting the hand on the heart.

I love the design of the new Korean football complex but I think they’re missing some key features such as additional full size and smaller football grounds, a hotel complex (for visitors and visiting football teams), a health centre with facilities for investigations and rehabilitation, restaurant complex focused on traditional Korean dishes, BBQ and healthy diet as well as other holistic training facilities i.e. gyms and swimming pools, parking, travel (bus, train stations, underground). Just my two cents worth. If you’re going to build an international centre then really make it spectacular and innovative.

I also played indoor football in an arena converted from a roller-skate/ice-skating rink. We had plenty of room for fans to stand or bring a chair. Also similar, is how good my team was. • I’m on a university game course here in the UK so I’m quite familiar with Unreal engine it’s great to see that they are collaborating on a project like this. It goes to show the true range of abilities that unreal engine from Epic Games can achieve when utilised correctly like this. It’s not just a gaming engine now, it’s a world engine.

  • Interesting project. Was surprised to see multi lane roads running through the site and a seeming lack of active transport provision and priority, particularly given the Dutch expertise in such things. One would hope a centre for sport excellence, health and well-being promotion could mitigate car addiction better and act as an anchor for wider active transport adoption in the surrounding areas. Will be fascinating to see how it pans out.

    • You'll need roads for player and supporter buses anyway, light rail is best put underground in places such as these. Also it's easier to use roads to other modes (like walking/partying) than it is to turn/use other use of space into roads.
