Total Lore Overview of the Empire in Mount & Blade: Bannerlord
The Northern Empire is a kingdom in Mount&Blade II: Bannerlord. They have, as the other two empires (the Southern and Western Calradic Empire), a specialization in armored cataphracts and skilled archers.
The Northern Empire shares a border with the Battanians, Sturgians and Khuzaits, as well as the two other splinter states resulting from the splitting of the Calradic Empire. This empire is led by an influential senator who wants the Senate to resume its right to appoint the new emperor.
The Calradic Empire is not a monarchy. The Calradians insist on this. The emperor, formerly just a military commander, may have taken on most other affairs of state as well. Rather than be elected every few years by the Senate, he may now rule for life and often be succeeded by his son. The popular assemblies that once decided key policies may have withered away, and the Senate, a gathering of landowners, may have far less power than it did in centuries past. But it is not a monarchy, because it is absolutely forbidden for Calradians to be ruled by a king. The Empire is what happens when a league of city-states conquers a continent. A community once led by free farmers with relatively equal wealth now has vast gaps between the rich and the poor. Institutions designed to prevent one man from becoming a tyrant come into conflict with the necessities of unending warfare, which require unified command. Without any smooth means of succession, the death of an emperor has always been a potential crisis. Usually, the emperor nominated an heir, the senate ratified his choice, and the people (meaning the army) acclaimed it. But this did not always happen smoothly, and the succession was often settled on the battlefield. The current conflict, which broke out when the late Emperor Arenicos was assassinated, is the latest of these Imperial civil wars.
So in simple terms, "you're all not worthy"...
Basically: Northern Empire: stupid oligarchs but best one out of the three Western Empire: military dictatorship Southern Empire: simps
Emphasize on "simps"
Very very informational video. I enjoyed this whole series, and after watching them, i know much more about the game, and enjoy it that much more.
Glad you like them!
Ah, I knew the empire was coming up. Great video, I loved all of these. Very informational.
Glad you enjoyed!
Smaller channel but you definitely have the best video on the calradic empire
Glad you think so!
Based on the Eastern Romans*
Another great entry into the series. Good work bro.
Thanks for the visit
I picked the western empire for 2 petty reasons #1 my friend chose it and is doing great, and so am I #2 it’s called the *western* empire
The best one I’ve found yet
Awesome work bud. Keep up the great content.
Thanks, will do!
I'm from North carolina, so I chose southern empire and we are steam rolling the map. I'm up 10m and own half the map
So Garios is a mix of Caesar and Pompey Nice
Glory to Garios
I think Garios Comnos might be influenced by Alexios Komnenos.
No
Lucon=Marcus Licinius Crassus
Cool video
Southern empire holds no borders with vlandia.
thx was writing the same comment, i know this Video is 3 years old but damn if you look on a map and even than you can't see that there is no Border is kinda stupid, not gonna lie.
Great vid thanks heaps lovin' the game
Good video
Thanks for the visit
In my current campaign I’ve gone to war with the Northern Empire and that old f ck lucon. He has only one town and a castle and both are in the other empire kingdoms, yet he keeps declaring war on a kingdom with 5x the men
Is there a mod where you could "reinstate" consoles and the authority of the senate would make for a good play through
i like to be emperor and still give the army lots of power so i always play both in a way
What happens when your character gets old and dies? I dinked around to long now I am almost 50 and about to go to war against all the kingdoms on my own.
How can you get the helmet in the thumbnail ??
You can buy it in one of the Empire cities. I think I found mine in Epicotrea. Its very expensive I was happy enough to have 1 million denars that I earned from selling two handed swords made from the smithy.
Can anyone give me some tips on supporting the southern empire? It feels like no matter how tactical I am... Their forces seem to lose even against enemies they outnumber. On my own I do fine... But every time I join an army...
I wish I could give advice bit I have been facing the same problem. My best counter is to make a army, the core being my companions or family parties as they require no influence. Then I add other nobles as necessary. Not great but it works thus far.
You can't do anything but help them in every fight. The Vlandians are just Overpowered and the southern Empie is just the weakest but for me the Faction with the most action and fun do to the lack of handling Enemys them self.
Wrong. John The Lion is Leader of the northern empire. IDK why they chose me to be the next ruler
Same man I was broke, made a archon 10 seconds before (not exaggerating) and had only fought in 1 war and the senate almost unanimously voted me to be emperor.
Rhagaea always keep all fiefs and let her nobles poor LOL
I really hate how the factions are the same despite the lore
:)

The empire always loses.
Good thing they changed it like 2 years ago, except that southern Empire is the weakest and loose to everyone.
@@Taemoco yeah i can confirm. playing as the northern empire and conquering the southern empire was a breeze. battania is doing way better than them.
@@ilayohana3150 In every playthrough i do the Kuzhait are steamrolling the Northern Empire unfortunately.
I always marry ira and join other factions. Screws that lore right up
