At first, I thought it was just a bunch of detached chilling images, but after a second watch, I realise that the composition of this video is actually incredible. It tells a coherent story through imagery, starting with an overview of the city, which makes you feel uneasy, and a big broad river which represents the metaphorical red river. Then the first shot is of some people emerging from a place, and center is a woman who doesn't know which way she's going. She looks left and then right, uncertainly, before finally heading off. I could go on, there's a lot of detail and care in every shot, but the general overview is that after that, it shows mass surveilance in public places, reminding the viewer of the original purpose of such technology. Then it shows some of the consequences; first, how it enables people to be tracked through all the shady parts of their lives... Second, how it doesn't really fix any of the problems with society, by showing all those people littering and the eels in tanks suffering... thirdly and most chillingly, there's a section near the end where it shows a variety of normal looking people - an old, crippled man, a middle-aged couple, a young family - being tracked and monitored. The viewer is left to wonder what the nameless monitoring entity's intentions towards them are. Of course, one hardly needs to explain the significance of the collapsed shipping crates. It's all brilliant. Best music video I've ever seen.

The line "hanging and flying too close to the sun" fits perfect in the picture of the icarus-esque apocaliptical world created by humans, that went to far with technology. So fucking evil.
