Excellent video!! loved it but the volume swell style music in the background is very distracting if not annoying.
Thank you so much for watching and for your feedback! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the video overall. I'm sorry to hear that the music was distracting for you, I'll definitely take that into consideration for future videos. Thanks again for your support!
Thank you for the information. It’s of great use. I will definitely plant some of these to get rid of mosquitoes where I live.
Thanks 4 info, I already use Basil &/or Rosemary 4 my cooking. But they're already processsed and in bottle/shaker form
Keep mint in containers with drain plate so the roots don't spread. Lemongrass is very tropical and use in Asian recipes. Check your local plant zone and educate yourself on plant needs, water, temps., fertilizer and types of soil. Make sure that your gardens are full of natives, with adequate water and proper soil. I kept scented geraniums in pots near seating areas, Citronella is my favorite.
Thank you for your comment! I appreciate your input and valuable suggestions. Regarding the mint plants, I completely agree with you. It's essential to keep mint in containers with drain plates to prevent the roots from spreading and taking over the garden. You're absolutely right about lemongrass being a tropical plant commonly used in Asian recipes. It adds a delightful flavor to dishes and also acts as a natural deterrent for mosquitoes and flies.
Thank q I too agree with u 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cool. All of these plants have other useful qualities as well. Thank you.
hank you for your comment! Indeed, besides their ability to repel mosquitoes and flies, these plants offer a range of other useful qualities. From enhancing air quality to adding beauty to your garden, they truly are versatile and beneficial.
Thank you.
Mosquitos 🦟 where i live seem to not be bothered by mint and basil, we buy lemongrass products to keep them away from us,i will try lavender this season as it can be found easly, its hard to find lemongrass seeds and plants
I agree with your opinion that we should pay more attention to native plants and avoid exotic imports that our native insects aren't adapted to. Invasive exotic plants can disrupt natural ecosystems and threaten the existence of native species. Periwinkle is indeed one of the invasive plants that can harm the presence of native plants in certain areas. Therefore, it's important for us to choose plants that are suitable for the local environment and do not cause disruption to natural ecosystems. Thank you for sharing your wise view in the KZhead comment. Hopefully, more people will realize the importance of preserving the sustainability of our ecosystems.

Thanks for good knowledge. Plz update in futher witch is the best time to implant vegies in water down canada. Thanking you in anticipation.
You're welcome! The best time to plant vegetables in water-down Canada depends on the specific climate and growing zone of your area. In general, the planting season for vegetables in Canada usually begins in late April or early May, after the last frost date. However, the exact planting time can vary depending on the type of vegetable you want to grow, as some vegetables prefer cooler temperatures while others prefer warmer weather.
Thankyou 👍🙏
You're welcome
Goodberyinteresting
Thanks! I love them all! I think u forgot citronella
Lemongrass is citronella
Citronella is actually geraniums 👍
Thank you for the information! While there may be some differences in opinion among experts, generally plants such as lemongrass, lemon eucalyptus, and citronella can help repel mosquitoes and flies because they contain compounds that are disliked by these insects. However, I also agree that citronella actually comes from a specific type of geranium plant, although citronella can also be produced synthetically. Thank you for this helpful comment!
Kk from nz wow I shall try to grow these plants I ha e a large lavender Bush that does not keep away the millions germs flies I shall try the herbs thankyou😅❤the info
Thank you for leaving a comment! I'm glad to hear that you're planning to try growing these plants. Lavender, despite being a beautiful plant, may not be as effective in keeping away flies and mosquitoes as some other herbs. However, the herbs mentioned in the video have properties that are known to repel these insects. I hope you have success with them! Happy gardening!

Thanks for your teaching this morning do you have to grow of them to keep 🦟 mosquitos a bay or one or two will d. Secondly what about reptiles such as snakes and lizard I know some kind of gases smells keep them away can you teaches us on that if you have aquire knowledge of that.
You're welcome! Regarding reptiles such as snakes and lizards, there are some natural remedies that may help to repel them. Some people believe that certain strong smells such as garlic, onions, or vinegar can be effective in repelling these animals. However, it's important to note that there is limited scientific evidence to support these claims, and some of these remedies may not be effective for all types of reptiles.

Lavender is labor intensive. Clipping clipping…..Catnip and mint spread like crazy.
Thank you for your input regarding the video "10 Plants that Keep Mosquitoes and Flies Away." We appreciate your perspective. Indeed, lavender can require regular maintenance, with the need for occasional clipping. On the other hand, catnip and mint have a tendency to spread rapidly. These characteristics should be taken into consideration when choosing plants for mosquito and fly control.
Tea Tree oil is effecive to
Hello, what would you suggest to someone who has two cats and is not very good with plants. Meaning plants used to die on me, I either gave them too little or too much water but I never seem to get the watering right. Thank you in advance for your answer.
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. If you're looking for low-maintenance plants that can thrive in a household with cats, there are a few options you might want to consider. Spider plants, for example, are non-toxic to cats and can tolerate a range of watering conditions. Snake plants are also a great choice, as they can survive with infrequent watering and are known for their air-purifying properties. Another option is the Boston fern, which can add a touch of greenery to your home and requires consistently moist soil. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
💯💯💖💖💖
How about nats? Please and thank you
Please 🙏 stop the background music it's really annoying 😮
Good morning, kindly purchase for me that kind of Basil & Alluim for health purposes. From marinduque

Thanks for the info. The background music is so grating it is horrible.
"I appreciate your honesty. I'll make sure to choose background music that is more suitable for my next video."
It would better if you told us ho to use them. Methods of uses

What plant repellant can scare snakes away totally please advise.
There are a few plants that are believed to have snake-repelling properties, such as marigold, wormwood, and West Indian lemongrass. However, it's important to note that there is no scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of these plants in repelling snakes. Additionally, it's important to take other precautions to prevent snakes from entering your property, such as keeping your yard tidy and removing potential hiding spots like piles of debris or wood. If you do encounter a snake, it's best to give it space and contact a professional for removal if necessary.
THANK YOU 🐦💐 BECAUSE MOSQUITOES LOVE MY BLOOD
AND FLYS GET ON MY NERVES . THEY CARRY ....... STUFF
Thank heavens we do not have mosquitoes..horrible things.
So are all plants for both mosquitoes and flys?
Not all plants repel both mosquitoes and flies. Some plants are more effective at repelling mosquitoes, while others are more effective at repelling flies. For example, citronella grass and lemon eucalyptus are known to be effective at repelling mosquitoes, while basil and mint are known to be effective at repelling flies. It's important to do your research and choose the right plants for your needs.
Mosquitos at my house love my mint! They are in it constantly. 😢
Of course, not all plants are suitable for deterring mosquitoes and flies. Some plants like peppermint or mint can actually attract mosquitoes due to their strong and fresh aroma. You might want to try other plants such as lavender, basil, or citronella that are known to repel mosquitoes and flies. Additionally, make sure that the area around your house does not have any stagnant water or places that can serve as mosquito breeding grounds. I hope this helps!
Please, lower the music. It's VERY DISTRACTING!
Thank you for your feedback! I'm sorry that the music was distracting for you. I'll definitely take note of that and try to adjust the sound levels to make sure it doesn't interfere with your viewing experience. Thanks for watching!
I put several fresh mint leaves near my glass, within a minute, ants swarming the leaves and start climbing my glass containing tea with a couple of fresh mint leaves.
You forgot Bee Balm
Thank you for your comment! You're absolutely right that Bee Balm is also an effective plant for repelling mosquitoes and flies. In fact, it's often used in natural insect repellent sprays. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
Good content … but the “music” is mind-numbing … you’d do better without it !
Basil unfortunately attracts ants.
Thank you for your comment! I appreciate the additional information regarding basil and ants. It is true that basil can sometimes attract ants. However, it's important to note that basil also has properties that repel mosquitoes and flies, which is the main focus of this video. If you're concerned about ants, there are a few strategies you can try to minimize their presence. One approach is to plant basil in containers or raised beds, which can help create a barrier for the ants. Additionally, regularly inspecting and cleaning the area around the basil plants can discourage ant colonies from forming.
Please stop the irritating music. The video otherwise is very useful.
I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the background music in the video. I understand that it can be distracting and irritating for some viewers, and I will make sure to take this feedback into consideration in future videos. Thank you for letting me know that you found the video useful despite the music. I hope that the information provided was helpful, and I will strive to ensure that future videos are more enjoyable for all viewers.
Music out of place
Lavender are not popular here on the Phil
Keep names with big letters please
I have tried all the mentioned plants and non of them repels mosquito. Wasted too much money
I'm sorry to hear the plants didn't work for you. Other natural options include using essential oils like citronella, lavender or peppermint, using physical barriers, and removing standing water. Good luck!
Music is annoying and too loud. If muted and you use close captions, its 100 times better
Terrible music. Info was great. I didn't subscribed, because of the music. I will try again
I like the bideo, but the music is annoying. Please turn it of for your video next time.❤
Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate your support and I'll definitely consider your suggestion for future videos. ❤️
