How come you are a professional fighter on the highest level and cant adapt to the simple situation of you getting tagged with a monstrous jab ? Ring IQ is very low in UFC, but this provides us with some freaking good fights. Imagine two chess players in there, it would be a thing for insiders and not mainstream fight fans!

Gilbert said post fight the jabs he was willing to take because it allowed him to land his monster blows. So it was trading a jab for a power over hand and sometimes that needs to be the tactic.

This might sound dumb, but Gilbert had Covid and that’s why their first fight got cancelled. Maybe Covid had an effect on his cardio. He didn’t even look tired after beating on Woodley for 5 rounds. After 1 explosive round Gil was sluggish

I don’t think it was early. I think waiting until someone sleeps is not very good for their health and safety. Burns was just getting beat up and if he somehow get up, he would have got caught with another jab. I only saw a problem with the Usman vs Colby stoppage

He fell from the head kick and didn't want to risk getting caught standing up. He only chose to risk it when the body shots were no longer funny. Sometimes such injuries are reopened during fights, but the pain sets in after.
