This is why I love Minecraft so much. The realism is just so accurate and dead on to how real life works! You can learn so many useful life lessons. Now I know that if I ever fall off the roof or something just aim for a wet leaf or spider web and I'll be fine.

So I just started playing again in the last month or 2, this is so nice! I realized they must have changed it since during my time away I had seen water bucket clutch videos lol. I remember back in ye olde days you needed >2 blocks of water to cancel all fall damage (you could also have a block of water with 2 empty blocks below it, using signs to stop it from flowing down. That would also make it so you didn't need to swim and jump back out of your water pit lol. The water would reset your fall distance and you wouldn't take damage, but if you had a block right under the water then you needed at least 3 blocks of water to not take damage).

In older versions water wouldn't instantly break your fall, you needed more than 1 block of water
This is why I love Minecraft so much. The realism is just so accurate and dead on to how real life works! You can learn so many useful life lessons. Now I know that if I ever fall off the roof or something just aim for a wet leaf or spider web and I'll be fine.

i think about this fact fairly often but I never remember how to reproduce it. it's nice to see a video come back on my suggestions again. the cobweb trick seems like a neat thing to use for hiding things in the walls. use maps to conceal it or something.

So I just started playing again in the last month or 2, this is so nice! I realized they must have changed it since during my time away I had seen water bucket clutch videos lol. I remember back in ye olde days you needed >2 blocks of water to cancel all fall damage (you could also have a block of water with 2 empty blocks below it, using signs to stop it from flowing down. That would also make it so you didn't need to swim and jump back out of your water pit lol. The water would reset your fall distance and you wouldn't take damage, but if you had a block right under the water then you needed at least 3 blocks of water to not take damage).

I was confused due to that fact. I played before horses in 1.2 or .3 if I'm correct stopped playing around 1.14 then recently have been playing and this water logic was confusing me so much
It would lessen at 1 block, but 2 blocks was the requirement to completely stop it from any height. Wonder when it was changed to any amount?
