Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis arrived at a courtroom after the defense team delivered closing arguments in a hearing that could disqualify her from the Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump and others. Lawyers for Trump and his co-defendants allege Willis improperly benefited from a romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade. Watch Major Garrett anchor CBS News' coverage and a portion of the final arguments delivered by Adam Abbate, the lawyer representing the D.A.'s office.

    • @bridgettmcgivney2471 I can and will agree with you on this... regardless of profession or political sides, we all have to start somewhere, and yes, this was definitely not the case! Secondly, if you ever notice, gov't prosecutors even on the county level for even petty crimes such as traffic, they are taught to go down a checklist. Everything is systematic. In comparison, the Defense attorneys, you have to learn to think on your feet, be creative, and be able to articulate your points. I say this because I deal with gov't agencies on a regular basis, and for the past 12 years, they have employed the same tactics to the point they are predictable! I also have a state attorney who is a carbon copy of Fani, and I have beat her on cases so much that now they replace them when dealing with me. In one case, I did like the defense here and got her bar exam results, and yes, I made fun of her as it took her 7 attempts to pass the bar exam. Was it a low blow? Yes! I was even cautioned by the Arbitrator, but like here, I was able to disqualify her on the case at hand. In law school, they teach you... if you don't have the law on your side, argue the facts. If you don't have facts on your side, argue the law. If you don't have the facts or the law on your side, you don't have a case. In this case, you saw him do a PowerPoint full of case law because the State didn't have the facts on their side. But Judge McAfee did his homework and was very knowledgeable on those cases. Scott was truly out experienced here! Another thing they teach is I.R.A.C.(Issue Rule or Regulation Analysis and Conclusion) when arguing points. Address the issue, what is the rule or regulation that applies, give an analysis, and then a conclusion. Poor Scott looked more like a paralegal than a prosecutor. But you gotta start somewhere as you said!
