Scrapping MASSIVE Scrap Copper Haul! How Much?
WOW, this one was HUGE! Not the kind of scrap copper haul you find every day! Its just fun to have so much of it in one place. Let's clean it up and see how much we make scrapping a truckload of copper!
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3jrO2iS
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
This is the cheaper version: amzn.to/2SwrYsB
And here are those grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)

That was fun...👍💲❤️ lol...
My stepdad does HVAC he would bring home scrap copper. He told me I can get half . So I took an hour sorted and prepped it. I made it a 1k run and he got half. $500/ for 2 hours of work ain't bad.
Your step-dad is in the right job. Nice of him to share 🙂
thats a nice dad right there
Hy $250/hr
As an HVAC owner I could definitely use 90% of this😂
Literally bro some of those Line sets are easily over 25ft! Not usable tho lmao
My biggest copper haul would be right around 800lbs & also had 200lbs of brass. It all came out of the ceiling of a building that I was involved in remodeling. We think the room use to be medical use 1/2" -1" copper. It was the biggest money amount of around $3100. This is in Tarpon Springs Florida
That’s huuuuge! Fantastic score there for sure! I have to assume you had to split it, but that’s still a killer haul
@@thubprint I took it all in at once. The scrap yard knows me. They had to Mail me a check for the copper.
Amazing haul! Thanks for allowing us to come along.
Great having friends with such good connections! Hoping that there will be more big copper haul's in your future Thub.🤗
I hope so too!
That’s a scrappers dream right there- hundreds of pounds of copper aaand the outside insulation comes off easy like that!? 😳😳😳
Made my day hehe
was working as a steamfitter this summer and we were replacing MASSIVE coils from huge air handling units. the coils were about 4ft tall by 12ft long and around 10" thick solid copper! I took a load to the scrap yard one day with what looked like 2 torn apart coils on it and got over $5000 for it! there was atleast 8 coils that size being replaced and a few smaller ones! and this was just one of their jobs that year! safe to say the companies pizza party fund shouldn't dry up too soon hahaha
My uncle owns a flat roofing company. You should have seen the loads we used to haul to the yard. We had a steel pile, aluminum pile and copper pile. We used to remove whole HVAC units from the roof all cut into pieces. We did one steel haul alone that was over $1000.
I work in garbage industry operating one of those roll off trucks and we also operate 2 transfer stations - my pile in storage unit is (I'm not trying to brag , I showed a friend recently who said "that's impressive " ) more than that, a good year I've been saving it , I come across some pretty often. I've also cashes in at least 2 grand over the last year. Thanks for the video.
Beautiful Thub, just beautiful!! There's nothin' like a truck full of copper!!
What a great friend and awesome copper pile of scrap /cheers ScrapBongo Liked
Gotta love the copper hauls
I’m not gonna lie, I shed a couple of tears when I saw all that fine copper tubing scrapped. It could have been living its best life as a condenser worm 🥃 instead of being looked at as nothing more than just scrap. 😢
I was thinking the same thing. Like, that shit can be used for all kinds of things other than just scrap.
They'll make new ones bro
Relax partner in USA we strapped 1 billion 900 million pounds of copper last year. 365 day 24-hour a day business.
Looks like a fun day. Good on you for helping out a friend!
You know I was more than happy to haha! Helps me too cuz I can film all that beautiful metal 🤘
Amazing haul really enjoyed this episode !
Make a video about how to make deals with people. I find all my scrap in alleys, dumpsters, or on the curb. I only got a bike and pull a trailer that I built. I pick up mostly wires and electric motors and brass.
Yes now the good stuff 💙
Goodness, what a load, thanks for sharing thub, great video, as always 👍👍😃
Thanks for saying hi!
Awesome video leave it better than you found it. Keep doing the thing!!!
Sweet man!!! Nothing like a nice load of copper!!!
Nice haul congrats!
Hey Thub, of course this was fun for me, as always I enjoy all your videos and I really like it when you call us Pandas hehe its really coool.
Man it's so hard not to watch your videos when they show up on my feed. You really have the star personality very engaging and detailed videos glad to see your channel is doing well. Much love from Savannah Ga.
Your videos are great and fun to watch
That’s a freaking thing of beauty!! I can’t get enough of that scrapers gold!!
Same 😁
@@thubprint Thanks for all the great videos! You keep me inspired to keep doing the thing.
Nice! Awesome video!
Got so happy when I saw your video pop up on my feed !! 😁😁😁
Thank you!
WoW that’s awesome. 👏👏👏
Wow! That’s some beautiful coppery goodness.
Ya love to see it!
Such a nice score. Almost hate to see it go. You need a score like that daily.
One hell of a dream load of copper there Thub , amazing . Say hi to Wub & greetings to you both from West Yorkshire , England . 👊😎👊
Will do, and thanks as always for saying hi!
awesome stuff
Wow nice haul
Hello Thub. Yes you are right,, it was an insane amount for anyone 🤣
Wow, what a huge amount of copper!
Wow so good make a guy jealous
Coll seeing you help a friend like this.
I was more than happy to do it! 😆
Happy days 👌
What a very cool cat this guy is
Woah that's really a huge copper man good for you 😂👍
You can make some pretty nice plant stand with alot of that, and make even more then scrap prices thub!
There is a lesson here more than just a big pretty pile of metal. It’s the relationship you’ve built with smasher. That’s how you go from a hobby scrapper to a business scrapper is making those bonds and once you’ve got them treating those people with respect and kindness.
Heck yes! That’s what I’ve been learning throughout my scrapping journey, the relationships you build are what take things to the next level
Sometimes some of that nice stuff is worth keeping if you plan on need ing tubing or wire for a remodel or project. Save a lot of money
That pretty cool!!
Gday mate I been collecting Fridge motors plus leads plus copper pipe Washing machine motor plus leads plus motor pump Aluminum etc The leads got millberry copper wire The leads got aluminum wires too Brass Things I found from scrap place
That is amazing!!!!🤣🤣👍
Awesome Ness Brother 👀💪🏼🙏🏼
Sweet haul bet your friend was happy with that pay out 💪👍
He was pretty surprised actually! More than either of us expected
Electrician here, cleaning out our storage room to be renovated into a nursery. I wanted to weigh my containers of wire. Total came out to almost 500 pounds!
Congrats on the new family member, that’s so exciting!! Also a great sounding haul of wire haha
Wowwwww scrapper dream
My neighbor works on gutters and he let's me know when he has, or people around where he is working, has stuff to get rid of. My other neighbor works on pools and will call me when he has motors.
Why hello there Mr. Thub, this is your water checkpoint, remember to keep hydrated everyone!
😆👍
for clean copper here in australia its $10 a kilo, i dont store much copper i normally just bring it all in when i end up at the scrap yard
I do the same thing with pretty much all of it. People love to tell me to hold onto it as an investment or whatever and while I do agree it’s likely to continue to go up, when you scrap as a job it’s important to keep the cash flow going
What’s up my friend… so just had to stop by and say I found my biggest scrap of my somewhat short career….. an industrial size AC u it that came from a mansion and is in shambles on the side of the road…. U touched my any other scavengers…. All I had with me was a pair of wire snips so I got to work taking as much copper wire as I could….. so much copper tubing in this thing… I need some advice . What’s the best tool to cut copper tubing
Would love to find that pile curbside. Wow that would be fun.
That would be a heck of a find!
We all would definitely run that trip for a friend lol that was killer ✌️ thub got merch !!!
You know it!
Man you are in one tough northern bastard.. haha congrats love your videos. Keep them coming.
Thank you! I’m still gonna complain about the cold tho lol
Red gold!! Copper is a pretty metal. It amazing how many long pieces there were that were “not usable”.
I was just happy to get to toss it around and enjoy it haha
@@thubprint well we were all happy to see you toss it around😄
Nice little earnings
awesome...!!!
As a hvac.... I know how you feel my friend😁... Nice score (for your buddy) 😂😁
Sweeeeeet! Every scrappers dream
My pops was a electrician man he bring garbage bags of 12 wire for scrap yard. Be nice to have it now
I bet, it would probably be worth a whole lot now!
Wow,,lots of copper
I wish I can save that much up haha awesome!!
Same buddy 😁
So I’ve come across some cable/tv wire I guess that’s what it is. Anyways I w got 200 ft of it… it’s not power line wire but it’s the wire that’s below that on street power lines…. There’s an insulated sheath about 1-2 inch in diameter with about 50 different colored really small wires. Anyhow what category wire would this fall under?
Massive payout 💚💚
Now that's uh score
It's been a while I'm waiting for your new blog love from Philippines
Not a bad collection there saved by your friend, im sure he will be happy with that payout and hopefully he gave you a 6pk or 10pk for taking it down to sell it for him.
I have a HVAC friend that gives me all his copper and electric motor. In return I clean all his ACR idk but that's what he wants so I do it
My Biggest Pet Peve i have when i watch some of your videos is seeing you in your shop grinding up metal on the Ground. Its time you set yourself up some work tables and atleast 1 vice.
I’ve got a vice! I’ve got a big one and a little one. But the grinder is cordless so this saves me time
Wow
Amazing load, still creates content..
When you said added value I thought we were going to be a wort chiller and distilling worm!!! Guess that works too.
😂 there are certainly a lot of ways to increase the value of quality copper tubing over selling it as scrap!
Thumbs UP
New Jersey U.S.A. checking in !!!
Profile pic doesn't quite check out for Jersey.
So, someone living in a place can’t be a fan of a team from another place? 🤷🏻♂️
Sweet
Calgarian here. I think i was just at this scrap yard last month
Empire is always good to me! Don’t think I’d bring them catalytic converters but for nonferrous they’re generally my #1
How to get the paper insulation off easily? Copper out of a welder core?
SCHWEET haul! I've stacked a couple hundred pounds before but not that often. I've only hit 4 digits (US$) once on about a year-and-a-half worth of all the copper & brass& lead acid& aluminum I could hoard & load into my truck, and once on an ewaste haul from a thousand PC lot I won. Still managed to barely make any money on the ewaste lot. Profit begins when you buy, not when you sell.
you lost me in your last sentence ?
Hello from Newfoundland and Labrador.
yes by'
Hello!
Mmmmmmm copper. What a good friend thing to do.
Super fun way to spend an afternoon!
Bro I have 300+ lbs of #1 copper from 2 months of dumpster driving and stripping more than half the electricians just throw out leftovers
True to that life he got a butchers knife in the shop
I was hoping for a 20-30 min vid!!! If their going to be this short I request two videos!!! Keep doing the thing.
I hear ya. It was a bit of a cheat vid but it’s given me time to work on a longer one. I’m using this time and the warmer weather to clear some garage space
4.65 is a GREAT price. Good job buddy, next time reach out and ill call the yard and get u a few extra cents ;)
Heck yes it is! Even in Canadian, it makes me happy. Maybe I’ll take you up on that next time haha
$ 1,143 ! Nice!
Sitting home with Covid just itching to get out in this nice weather. Your video only made it worse. Beautiful haul, nice to see all that copper get back in the system and not wasted. Here is hoping you got at least an Ice Capp for your effort Thub. Hahaha.
I got a few iced capps haha 😁 Wish it was all mine but I was happy to have it for a little while all the same!
WoOoOoOow !!!
WOWOW!! I hope he treated you well. Dangorama, Thub!
He’s always good to me haha
Get to know a lineman all imma say😂
seem like pretty good long runs charge for copper and put PEX in instead
Given that I'm a woman who absolutely loves copper yumminess you have just absolutely made my day!!!! 😲😍🧡 Yep, you know what, I'd be rolling it in, it'd have to be done 😂 Amazing 👌 👏 🤤
hello Miss!
@@stevesrt8 haha hi Steve, you caught me ogling the copper 😂
Hello Sollers,, Sweden here again. Yep, still alive and scrapping still rocks. I got a steady supply of AC/heater units and I am saving the macaronis for a year,, about 3 lbs so far this year. Stay safe and take care.
@@pederlindstrom3132 hi Peder good to see you! Glad scrapping is going well too 👍take care!
@@pederlindstrom3132 what are macaronis?
With some of that tubing you could make your own distiller as in high octane potato juice, hint?😂 Has anyone has heard from freeisbetter86? I miss them crazy loving and always excited to do an adventure run....
I'm from England and I filled a water tank up once and got £500 but from what you had I thought that was like £5000
Prices in the US are not as good as ours. Deffo would of been a lot more!. I believe likes of Australia its crazy at the mo
I've been scrapping for over 2 years now and still have not taken any copper or brass in. The hoard grows like a fungus.
It’s not a bad time with prices where they’ve been! Although it could keep going higher, never really know
Could made more by making a distillery
I manged to save about 80kg in one year from building skips. The scrap yard I go to just has one category for scrap copper. They put number one and 2 together.
That’s quite a bit to pull from bins!! Throwing it all in one category could be good or bad but I suppose it could save you some time if you don’t have to clean it up
