    • @@caelhustlermahdi7713 well, entertainment = sales. Connor is the highest paid athlete in UFC, why? because he gets the fans going, khabib is FAR more skilled than connor, his record alone proves it. Yet connor is the one in the FW/LW division who rakes it in. It's he same with Wonderboy vs Tyron, wonderboy's flashy karate style is what the fans wanna see, no one wants to see a hug fight all day long. That's not to say that wrestling and ground pound isnt skillful or even entertaining, you just gotta do it in a way that builds hype, look at Chimaev.

    • Everyone misses the point. Ngannou is not a black American. He's foreign and he has a huge body with ultraviolet finishes. That is why he gets opportunities to be in big fights for an American company. This is a common racist trope. He even got promoted like fuck against Stipe because of his appearance and strength which gets a crowd going for the spectacle. Stipe wasn't as marketable as champ. No doubt Ngannou is a knockout artist, but he's been used for money for the UFC to draw in PPVs and it was also a nice little pat on the back for any nay sayers like the comment that started this thread for the future. Woodly is from America, talks with an American accent that many connect to Black Americans. When white folks, even people of other races due to how Black Americans are portrayed in media in America/other parts of the world, they get uncomfortable. When he starts saying the truth, people start denying it with weak claims about a champion's ego or how he whines. Even Thompson's body language gives it off to those people who "know". The facade was being broken, Tyron going off the script. Thompson stopped seeming like a nice respectable dude. Only people who who have guilt pull one of these in their face. 🙏

Back in the 80’s & 90’s is was “sex sells” on TV now that sex is everywhere now it’s not that interesting so the blacks and media have went back to the days of bull Conner and knows racism sells you divide the people and make people pick a side then they have something invested into the fight so everyone watches. Typical Marx’s bullshit that has worked since the age oh man.

  • If you primarily wear the race filter, then that dominates all of your perceptions. Why did X happen? -> race filter -> even though there are thousands of variables the wearer ignores them all except for the single variable that their filter supports as the most important one - the race variable. That’s all Woodley sees. Why is Mighty Mouse not a seller? Is it because he is in a division that no one cares about? Is it because he does not trash talk or try to market himself in any way? Is it because there really aren’t any interesting personalities in that division and there aren’t any rivalries that anyone cares about? Is it because DJ is just a really good guy and there aren’t any interesting skeletons or anything like that in his closet that catch headlines? Nope. None of that. Woodley sees one variable. He’s black so therefore he doesn’t get that much attention and doesn’t get the respect that Woodley thinks he deserves.
