SUVs are the kings of the road today, thanks to their practicality and versatility. As evidence, many automakers have dropped sedans from their lineups to launch new SUVs. But in this SUV-dominant marketplace, not all are built to the same standard. We all seek that reliable SUV, the one that remains loyal after countless road trips.
So, which models have proven to last, potentially surpassing the quarter-million-mile mark? To answer that question, iSeeCars, a car research firm, analyzed over 260 million cars sold from 2012 to 2022. From their research, certain SUVs stood out for their impressive longevity and durability, with a significant percentage crossing the 250,000-mile threshold.

    • @@fatman5377 What does how long a vehicle last to sales volume? GM vehicles don't last as long as the Lexus RX.

      @cjdamnit@cjdamnit27 күн бұрын
    • @@cjdamnit it’s a simple numbers game. Not all GM products are unreliable. As are not all Lexus products are super long lasting. GM sells around 6million every year Lexus sells under 1million every year These numbers are world wide. So did to these numbers it’s natural you’ll have a higher number of failed GM products since they sell 6 times the Lexus volume. The average Chevy Tahoe/Silverado is sold with 190-220k miles and has a 0.3% major failure rate. This model is used for police, government, private and fleet. And it’s GMs best selling platform worldwide Lexus ES is the highest selling Lexus in the world and it’s barely 17% of the GM best seller. You have more people shitting on GM vs Lexus which in turn creates an illusionary number that Lexus is far superior. It is superior but not as much as people may think.

  • Hands down, built like a tank with consistent quality that's unsurpassed, the land cruiser is a true World vehicle. Nothing even comes close to its versatility, off-road capabilities and reliability. Made the right way each and every time KAIZEN. Not from a company that has gone bankrupt, moved around from plant to plant production, closing down, starting up, unreliable, lazy production workers that complain constantly nor a pimp ride or Detroit garbage.

I'd recommend all years past 2010, they bulletproofed the 5.4 after 2009 and fixed the majority of the issues plaguing the engine. Proper maintenance and these suv's will last past 300k easy.

  • Love the CRVs. So dependable and cheaper to operate. Have had 3 of them since 1999. Regrettably have just left them as they also unfortunately lead in being the vehicle of choice in skyrocketing auto thefts in southern Ontario. Insurance rates have really gone up for CRV as a result. Sad how crooks can also have such an effect on markets and brands. They need to be locked away longer.

  • You lost all credibility by listing a Ford and GMC in long lasting SUVs. They’re American made junk SUVs and trucks…I know because I’ve had both. For a GMC/Chevy SUV to last that long…it would go through 2 transmissions and most likely 2 engines, since DFM can cause catastrophic failures after 100k miles.

  • I will keep my Cadillac sedan’s over these overpriced gas hogs any day. If I did ever buy a SUV it would be a Toyota or Cadillac. Everything else is just junk to me.
