Wow; what an impressive video. This is a top notch overview of free video editing software I've ever seen. I have been using Filmora but they have made updates almost every week. Your forced to learn new additions of the software continually. So I looking into a new software editor. This video really helped me to understand what features I might want and if my computer has the memory to operate them. This video itself is user friendly and perfectly laid out. I was amazed; well done.
Love to hear this!
Tried Filmora last year to make editing a little faster -- appeared to be a pain-i-y-a. Testing Capcut now, quite funny.
you actually covered all the important informations.. thanks brother❤
Loving your videos from all the way here in Trinidad 🇹🇹
Thanks so much! Glad you love them :)
Thank you for the content. Very friendly and well explained!
Thank you Anthony!
13:20 Davinci Resolve has funktions to use Proxys to edit and other things. I edit 4k without problems and I use a Radeon 3 quadcore, 16 Gb DDR4 ram and a GeForce GTX 1650 on a 27" 4K Monitor.... I think, the cache and the proxys storing on a M.2 SSD will help too.
Yeah proxies will always help a ton.
❤ I love your clip. Quite impressive. 🎉
Thanks man.
Amazing content, the video is very descriptive and flows, love how you've rated everything, thanks for the video man!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yes, I am on the beginer side, but not only pros need more tools in their software. I need to edit this final group submission for my class.
You just nail it again. ANTHONY GALLO 😁😊
Thank you!
I am a content creator who is just starting to edit videos so this is really going to help me out so thank you
Thanks,for the Info
No problem!
Thank you, very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, very helpful. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you! Great content and very helpful.
Wow that's amazing brother love your videos brother assaali from Kenya Mombasa Africa
Thank you :)
Bought 14 Days film maker 2 years ago. I logged into my account after watching this video and was granted free access to 14 Days KZheadr. New lessons have also been added to the course in general. Back then there was no Da Vinci and capcut editing. Thank you so much Anthony.
You got it! We're always adding more to the courses :)
You need to look into whether or not the programs allow the simple generation of proxy clips to take the strain off lower spec'd computers. It's not always turned on by default.
Davinci does. Clip champ doesn’t. CapCut kind of does haha
Bro, I was about to buy your 14 day film maker course, but I was watching the intro video for it, and I didn't hear you mention that it goes over Capcut!?? Is this true? I have been watching your videos on youtube, and I have been sold with going with Capcut, but I'm greatly concerned now if your course doesn't cover Capcut? Wondering your thoughts. .. Should I still do capcut, or is this not the best option, or is the intro video outdated and capcut is covered in it?
I’ve only messed around with video starting with movie maker. About 20 years ago. I only do it to please myself. If I have a few moments spare I’ll have a play around. All these years I’ve never had the need, or even liked any transitions except dissolve or a straight cut. Everything else just seems cheap and make my toes curl. It’s probably me but I’ve yet to find an editor that works the way I would like it to work. Currently using GoPro’s Quick.
Thanks for telling me😊
you are so helpfull i am thankfull i found this chanel
Happy to help!
Nice and useful video! I miss Shotcut to be one of the contendants though, since it seems to me it has plenty of powerful options, like color correction, and it is not just absolutely free, but even FOSS.
Cool video, tended to bring out what has been locked in my head, information over load mostly. Now that I have a decent grasp of what software to use, I wish someone would tell me what hardware to put together as in computer I have a MSI katana 15 b13v laptop at the moment it was a gift and even being happerd by a 1080p screen and a somewhat weak GPU 4060 I think it fits the bill for now. However I also know I'm going to need to build a tower sometime down the road, as this will be a first time build for a editing rig that can at least play a version of doom, not a big gamer, but I like what I like. Is there a way to put a computer together that won't break the bank?
Amazing breakdown man, I request you to make videos around color grading in capcut & lightroom to make videos cinematic, as I struggle to play with curves.
We talk more about color grading in our course! Lightroom is a photo editing software though, not for videos.
@@MrPaulXavier but your can explain basic features, functionality for beginners like many YT's did. not expecting detailed video. rest, as your wish.
Thank you for taking the time. It's Greatly Appreciated. I'm planning to spend a month creating videos, editing them, and then starting my first KZhead channel. I'm an Exercise Therapist and Holistic Nutritionist and plan to have at least 20 to 30 videos ready to upload as soon as I start my channel. I feel that having a good number of videos available at the start will help. With your experience on KZhead, do think that is a good idea? Like many others, I am very nervous about how all of this works. But I'm going to take the gamble and put 150 percent effort into building my channel over the next year. I truly believe that I can get monetized within 6 months if not sooner. My goal is actually 3 months. I do believe I can achieve that. Thanks Again....
You’ve got this!
for phones power director is pretty good for me but i might use capcut later
The next version of Davinci coming out this summer is really good!
Great shares. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Hi. I started out with Davinci but found the lagging in playback too annoying, and my pc has decent specs. So I now use Capcut and even with HVEC files the playback is flawless. For the type of videos I make, Capcut does a great job and I find with the keyboard shortcuts, the editing is fast and efficient. One gripe I do have with Capcut is the fading in/out of music, especially fading out. I would prefer it to be 20 seconds long and to fade into silence, whereas at the moment I think the fade out still doesn't fade to a low enough volume so when it's stops, it cuts out too abruptly. Otherwise, I love it, especially the pro version which gives me access to pro tools which are great. Thanks for your honest review and I think your results are fair.
Can you use it offline without internet? I tried and it does not let me.
To be honest I've never really tried as I always edit on my laptop and my WiFi is always on, so it's not something I've ever noticed.@@philipkeds328
Great review as well! Love the perspective.
Yes you can use capcut offline. Just make sure you're using the downloaded version and not the web based version.
@@MrPaulXavier really? Yeah I am using the PC Desktop Version. I open it up offline it says no internet connection. And then even when I can get past the screen, you can't use any built in transitions and effects due to offline. Are you able to check? Thanks!
I used Clip Champ because of this video and loved it. I just wish it werent so buggy and had a timeline more similar to movie maker (so i dont have to zoom in/out and pan around so much). Are there any paid or free programs as easy to use and quick as clip champ/movie maker? I made some clips in resolve but couldnt imagine editing a full project with it
as an editor that uses clipchamp here are some pros and cons of the video editing software: pros: easy to use, templates are mid audio sometimes can be buggy cons: it can sometimes get rid of your video, (I have had this happen to me a couple of times) sometimes you have to use 3rd party apps to get the right volume for the audio
After watching this would you consider capcut?
@@MrPaulXavier yea probably
Thanks for ur info i want to learn capcut
Nice! We have an entire section on capcut in our course if you wanted to check that out :) www.contentcreator.com/14-day-smartphone-filmmaker-course
In my opinion, besides beginner/mobile friendliness, other categories are more important for editor/film maker.
Not sure what you’re saying. Which categories are most important to you?
thanks
Capcut 3.5 for PC no longer has the opacity slider under the Blender options. Obviously your video is showing an older version of Capcut that did have the Opacity slider. Is there a workaround to change the opacity of your videos because if there isn't I will scrap Capcut.
Thanks. This Helped a lot.
How does Shotcut compare to your 1st 2 options for beginners? I mostly need a very simple way to splice recorded video segments together for KZhead tutorials (& not cause blips that make it obvious I spliced two takes of a video together - ie I need to make smooth transitions across splices). If it was easy, I might add some overlaid text or notes, too. Thx.
I’d still prefer CapCut without a doubt over shotcut
@@MrPaulXavier Thx. Is it b/c of features, reliability, ease of use, other? I use OBS Studio to record.
All of the above. Super powerful and free!
Thanks a lot for this video! Excellent way of analyzing software and grouping them by the needs they best satisfy :)
You're very welcome!
Bought the package let’s see how good it is 😎
Enjoy!
Great Video
Thank you!
Yay!
💪🏻🔥
Are you familiar with OBS Studio? If so, is it beginner friendly? I just downloaded it and so far I'm kind of lost. I've done some very basic video editing with Photoshop, but it only works for short videos. No budget rn for another app. Cheers!
Yes it’s a good software but not really for editing
@@MrPaulXavierthanks for the quick response. I'm going to check Capcut and DaVinci Resolve for sure then. Cheers!
I think since i dont hsve much time ill start with capcut since it seems more simple and if im able to grow an audiancd and able to dedicate more time ill learn a more powerful editing software.
💪🏻🔥
Capcut is super friendly but it will get crashed and super slow even crashed my ipad pro when editing long form videos. I had to spend a lot of time to learn Davinci Resolve, still learning but totally worth it.
Sorry to hear that, but Davinci will be worth it!
What did you use to make this video? I just finished watching your Capcut tutorial so I'm eyeing everything that's happening in the video haha
I personally use premiere pro most of the time.
@@MrPaulXavier I will have to start with Capcut since it's most affordable for me right now. When I get much better at editing my goal for the future is probably to learn After effects/Premiere pro/Sony Vegas, one of those
Thanks 😊👍
Welcome 😊
@@MrPaulXavier 😮
ty bro
I'm surprised that you went straight to Davinci Resolve and not something more practical like Kdenlive for beginning video editing.
as soon as i saw the first part of davinci resolve i knew thats the best for me. im just having issues editing on my phone because i edit 4k 100mb/s videos
Yeah that is a tough workload to put on your phone.
very good sir I'm from India
Thank you :)
Cap cut can access your camera and mic while not editing, they have access to everything on your computer or your cell phone, they can see your contacts, way to many permissions not good
so i got a recording of the same race from three different angles, what would be best to use to overlay all three into one video?
Did you watch the video? This is the exact topic it’s about
also forgot to mention that davinci free version limits how many features you can use on a project that should score it down too
I feel clipchamp is horrible Seems to work good but it ends up duplicating words in the audio. So if I said something sometimes it repeats it .. messing up the audio.. making everything out of sync. Imagine editing for hours & after checking everything all seems good until you upload it.
I worked on Premier pro. Now I work on Davinci Resove, but sometimes I use Capcut.
nice :)
great responsitrilotry
I'm not sure what that means
@@MrPaulXavier it's a reference to a comedy piece- Key and Peele's "Terries" skit. Very funny if you don't know about these guys. I think anyway. A line in your video reminded me of one in theirs.
What do you reckon on Video Proc Vlogger compared to capcut?
I have not used that app to be honest
capcut is the best for me, but only one problem is it cannot render 60 fps video.
You're trying to export videos as 60 frames per second?
Only concern with capcut is that it takes up way too much space. I made a 20 minute video on Capcut and it's 3 GB. Which would be around 1.5 GB for 10 minutes. When I use something like canva it's only 80 MB
I have been using Davinci resolve for over 2 years.. but since I upgraded my computer to a 4070Ti card with 64Gb of DDR5 VRAM and a 13th Gen i9, the program just keeps crashing on renders, and, since 18.6, it crashes about every 5 min while editing. It worked fine on my 9th gen i9 with a 2080 card.. not sure what gives.. but I gotta find something else.. took me TWO days to edit a 45 min vid this week... just from constantly having to restart. Anyone else having this issue or any ideas on what I can try?
i am not able to download DaVinci it says 403 error can you help
Clip Champ constantly crashes on me while editing and when I go to export.
I was all over Capcut and started a project. Then I needed to adjust the duration of some of the text clips. No way to do that, but there are plenty of videos that tell me how to make all the clips the same duration. That's not what I wanted to do. So it seems you have to drag the clip to the duration you want, only I could find no way to do that precisely. No gauge indicating how many seconds the altered clip was (I was changing the duration of text). This was the first video editing software I used where I didn't have the ability to set a clip's duration after it had been placed on the timeline along with a bunch of other clips. Who doesn't have to make editorial changes to their projects? Somebody tell me what I'm missing, please!
You should be able to adjust the length of your text clips like I’ve done in this tutorial here. You just drag the edges
sir please provite lightroom in pc apps
i am join today sir ☺☺☺☺☺
Great 👍
CapCut update messed up the whole app why every app do that once you update something goes wrong
So I've just got windows 11 and I googled clipchamp maximum video length, it recommends 10min maximum,,inwana do longer video so what's 10 min about ? Seems a pointless programme if that's the case,,,any advice?
It let's you make videos up to an hour. Just after making a 10 minute video it can take a long time to render the finished mp4 file.
I just got a 250gb i5 hp laptop,,,is this OK for video editing as long as I transfer after and don't fill u to much space
i think you can buy a 1 terabyte external hard drive and keep it connected as you edit i did that with an old laptop years ago
Just got Davinci resolve yesterday and my head is spinning 😂
Haha we can teach you in our course if you like!
Which one did you use to shoot this video?
I personally use premiere pro, but it's not free so I couldn't mention it here.
I am not sure why I am watching this when I use Vegas Pro. Curious how free things have come, I suppose. These free apps seem very simplistic. Focused more on auto-editing and phones than providing what comes off as "basic" tools to me. Davinci aside, but Davinci hides the good stuff (like hardware encoding) behind a paywall.
Haha well we're glad you watched either way :)
I just started making youtube videos as a hobby so I definitely needed free software. I have been using clip champ and I have no complaints. That being said I would like to increase what I am able to do in my videos so I will definitely be giving cap cut a try. Thanks for this video
You got it!
What happen to the IS this iphone 15pm or S24 Ultra reveal vid you were supposed to post on KZhead??
Posting that either tomorrow or thursday. Sorry for the delay!
little warning for da vinci, if you are using anything other than just mp4s, so NOT waste your time on it. it is literally UNUSABLE. it cannot import mp3 files, certainh mp4 files ogg, mkv, or mov. ONLY mp4 files.
How can I upgrade my CapCut PC version to a Pro version? I don’t see any button to do so, and I don’t see any option to upgrade on their website too.
Try to use a pro effect and when you export it will prompt you to upgrade
@@MrPaulXavier I can't see any Pro FX in the FX section, I don't know why. I have the latest version
What your view of power director 365 by cyber link?
I prefer capcut by a mile
Have you ever looked at shot cut for mobile editing
Yes I prefer the ones mentioned in this video. It’s similar to CapCut though
capcut best for me
Nice 💪🏻🔥
What do you use?
Premiere pro. CapCut. And Davinci.
No concerns over privacy or tracking with capcut??
Not really to be honest, there are tons of foreign companies making apps as well, people have just really chosed to focus in on this one company in particular.
Dont them all have watermarks after exporting?
None of these have watermarks 😁
i've been editting with clip champ tho the thing that lead me to this video is the fact that it crashes most of the time
Yes clipchamp definitely crashes a lot
"but i'm assuming most of you are beginners due to the emphasis on the editing softwares being free" (not exact words) but oh man that took me out lmao
What do you think of a software called Videoproc Vlogger???
I prefer capcut
CAPCUT ALL THE WAY
clipchamp is the absolute worst. 5900x and 6650xt 8gb, 32gb ram, all overclocked and it just doesn't function
Video Cons: Sounds like you're in a can. Curious how you managed that. Pros: You said "Software" not "Softwares" (but you did write it in a title). Pros: Tight content, no filler. You get a like.
Solid analysis 🔥
The only issue with all of these is there is no green screen options. For those of us that love to use transparency.
CapCut and Davinci both have chroma key tools that allow you to use green screens
@@MrPaulXavier I havent seen them. I like to take stuff out of backgrounds for my streams. I have yet to find anything in them to ne able to that. Im not saying you are wrong but i just havent found it
Hi brother I'm in Kenya how I get your 14 day course please let me know
You can just click the first link in the description underneath the video on youtube. That will bring you to the page where you can enroll :)
His course is worth it!
Thanks man!
I mean it sincerely.
i have capcut and i only have one complaint , mayby you can help me resolve this problem, when i go to export it wont let me click on the export to youtube it only wants me to export to tik tok it is very frustrating pls help
And you've for sure connected your capcut account to your YT channel? Also I typically export directly to my computer so I can store the finished video in my specific file system
wen i click export the only choice it highlights is tik tok i would have folder for vids but cant choose to put them there it seems i m missing somethng thank you for helping@@MrPaulXavier
I cant downlad capcut :(
-hi-
Also… CapCut can export 4K and free DaVinci can only export 1080
Sorry, but that's not correct. The free version of Davinci resolve can export up to 4k 60fps videos.
@@MrPaulXavier I stand corrected 😁
The imports take forever when importing 4k video
On which software?
yes lets also tell playerz about the EULA that allows the chinese owners of capcut to see ALL of your photos and contacts...right ?
Honestly that doesn’t worry me.
Clipchamp takes up so much disk space, a ridiculous amount, that I'm thinking of uninstalling it in favour of Davinci Resolve.
You will love davinci
