  • The problem is not Kim here. It's the people who are selling off these rare pieces of art to her.

Yeah, it's her dress so she can be held responsible for what she does to it. 2. I don't have to respect or like what she did just because she can legally do it. I think it was distasteful and dumb. 3. My comment is a reply, in response to someone saying its entirely the museum's fault.

    • @@noladelrusso7614I'm a fan of Marilyn Monroe, and knew of the Diamond Dress. I grew up watching her old films and singing her old songs. I even have a blue dress similar to that in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (mine is much easier to walk in...lol). Many of her styles were used by dollmakers - Barbie being one - Bob Mackie has multiple limited editions with Barbie. If you look at the Jem and the Holograms line, there were many influences in colour palette, and designs. The Oyster dress is horrendously ugly. I know that McQueen "pushed boundaries" of fashion, but it's inelegant despite the meaning of it being a "female warrior emerging from beneath the battered shell". I also fail to see why no-one has mentioned the first owner, Angie Barrett, who wore the dress to The (Beaux) Art Ball at Cannes FF in 2003. Despite not being a fan of the Kardashians, WHY is everyone obsessing over a dress from the 2020 oscars? At the Met Gala, KK changed into the gown in a dressing room at the bottom of the steps, and then into a replica of the Diamond dress for the remainder of the event.

But if it's something valuable like a collectors item or something historical, even if it's yours, it's not nice to destroy it. Or, as someone said, it's not ethical. (That's why museums just don't break historic pieces) I think of it as belonging to the society if when the owner (Kim) dies the item will be going to a museum. But again, she didn't ""destroy"" it, she wore it - with that giant butt of hers 😂. I still think ppl need to stop selling/lending/letting her breathe near iconic clothes.
