GRAMMYS 2021 FASHION ROAST (Let's Address Doja Cat & Harry Styles)
The Grammys 2021 was a true display of FASHUN! There were looks galore that explored the beauty of what fashion should be, an expression of one's self. Dua Lipa had multiple clothing changes! Doja Cat gave us a Y2K Roberto Cavalli x Fausto Puglisi collaboration, although it was probably the most controversial look of the night. Megan Thee Stallion channeled a bit of Marilyn Monroe in Dolce & Gabbana, and we're still scratching our heads as to why she wore it. BEYONCÉ SHOWED UP, which was an event in an of itself, but she wore custom Schiaparelli! Noah Cyrus also wore Schiaparelli, and it was not only chic but meme worthy! Chloe & Halle Bailey wore Louis Vuitton with the most beautiful & subtle nod to the brand's heritage! BTS also wore Louis Vuitton, but I was so disappointed the exciting aspects of their looks were stripped away to make them look like parts of a matching set! Harry Styles wore two different custom Gucci looks that were truly made by their boas! Haim took on Prada by Raf Simons & Miuccia Prada, and channeled the brands Spring 2021 in a periwinkle blue! Taylor Swift sported a floral embroidery Oscar de la Renta dress, and it was well, there.

Actually, the reason why BTS has toned down their outfits on American ceremonies is that they were highly criticized on 2018 Billboard awards for their colorful outfits :cccc, some Colombian media even referred to them with some offensive surnames just because of RM's T-shirt

thank god you addressed bts’ fashion. i get that they think “grammys = suits” but it’s been all the same for how long now. bts or rather bighit really emphasise bts’ individuality as being 7 separate artists with their own personalities and styles that coke together to make a phenomenon, a dynamite called bts. but they don’t reciprocate that. especially considering that these boys are RICH rich, and their stylists show no fear in playing with their fashion when it comes to mvs and stages in korea. as an army myself i’m more than disappointed (they don’t only represent bts they represent the entirety of kpop entering the western world and being taken seriously) but dressing like this and being so plain and basic defeats that purpose and makes them look like outsiders and so naive to the grand event of the grammys rather than making a statement. whether you’re winning awards or not, attending the grammys is a statement in itself.

When you opened by pronouncing Schiaparelli correctly you had my interest . Your knowledge of fashion history is remarkable . Most youth I've seen don't know their decades let alone deep house history . Understanding taste & style is an innate gift which you seem to have . Her flower dress is a piece of art but reminds me more of her Lover era. The performance dress was just so much more witchy and folk-cottage core-esque, and her hair went so well with it.

BTS has so much potential in terms of their outfits so why did their stylists picked those ugly ass clothes?? The members could’ve done a much better job styling themselves smh.
I think the reason for that is that the stylists want to play it safe. Knetz is notorious for tearing idols apart at the smallest of things, and given how BTS is representing South Korea itself on such a huge platform, so if they do anything different or unconventional, Knetz will absolutely just tear them apart.
@@urishitapawar I think that's kind of throwing knetz under the bus, I bet they'd love to see modern, experimental Korean fashion on a foreign red carpet.
Their stylists have done them dirty so often I wish they'd just get new ones. I like that they try to go for more unique looks but you can look unique without looking messy or like you aren't even in a group together. I've noticed that namjoon often has the strangest or messiest outfits which is such a pity because that man is gorgeous and continues to get styled in very awkward ways.
@@anywherebuthere91 I do think some of Knetz would love that, but let me assure you, a large majority, or at least an extremely vocal minority wouldn't. For an example, there was this actress I'm forgetting the name of, who wore an "inappropriate" dress to the red carpet, according to Knetz. Honestly speaking, there was nothing much wrong with that dress, it was showing a little bit of cleavage, and wouldn't even be considered unconventional by fashion standards. But Knetz absolutely tore the poor woman apart, and I'm fairly certain that was one of the major contributing factors to why she ended up committing su*cide.
I always thought they played it safe for western audiences as to not fall into the ‘crazy, colorful’ kpop stereotype. But the problem with that, imo, is that the result is boring. So, so boring. I want their stylists to realize they can turn out looks WITHOUT being crazy and colourful, like. Yeah, they can’t afford the same freedoms as Harry, but i think they could easily be more fashion forward and individual in their red carpet looks
