So the owners of the land they're hunting on will go out of his way to breed and protect lions on his property so that the "outsiders" can come and hunt them.   • Most people commenting here don't understand that the Maasai people are the once who have given most of their land to wildlife actually both maasai mara and amboseli are in their ancestral land. they lose their livestock in numbers and incur heavy losses. so every time you see wildebeest migration across mara river in Kenya thank this people they are our symbol of natural heritage and tourism

    • In the radio comm. i can hear the drivers talking to the wildlife officials and reporting the incident. The wildlife office asks if the rangers are already there, the driver says yes but goes ahead and says the masaai are already here. The guy from the office say oops too bad, now the rangers should get out . You see the rangers leaving in a green pick up.The guy in the radiocom says the masaai won’t understand anything( hao kama wamefika hawataelewa kitu)he says it’s unfortunate they might kill the lion. Trust in a week if they dont compesate them that lion will be dead.

  • I'm from northern Kenya and from a pastoral tribe too.lion have gave us a hard time,often kills our livestock. But the good news is that,ever since the privatization of the KWS(Kenyan wildlife service),we are getting compensation for every livestock hunted by wildlife like lion, cheetah and leopard.

  • I seen vid of the Massai, just 3 men, walk into a pride of lions that just made a kill, as they were feeding, scare them off, just by walking.. cut the dang leg off the kill the Lions just made. And walk away with the whole leg.. the Lions didn't do crap!! I never seen confidence like that in my life. I have so much respect for this tribe. I hope their culture and tradition remains. I see many wearing western clothing in this video. I fear that their young will not accept their heritage and culture any longer and move away. I pray that never happens.

  • Am sure most of you don’t understand swahili. Theres some conversations below the crazy music. Of what looks like tourist drivers and the wildlife officials. The wildlife office asks if the rangers are already there? The driver says yes, but goes ahead and says that the masaai are already there too. The rangers track in the video is seen to be moving away from the scene. The wildlife office is heard saying Thats unfortunate the masaai won’t understand anything now, they will track and kill it(the lion) I doubt the lion made it to the next week.
