You know one thing that I also love in this movie aside from the cliche romance and all, is Josh's parents (and grandma). Even after experiencing all that stuff with Natalie, they still accepted him. Also, the fact that his father accepted his decision in wanting to do another business, and not follow his father's steps. That's just so heartwarming.

Says the catfisher😂
Well, she should fall for the guy who cat-fished her based on the history of rom-coms, but they did a good job with the trailer, leaving a possibility that they might just stay friends..
Ironic because he catfished her
Josh and Natslie's chemistry is subtle. It is definitely not passion driven as those seen in the mainstresm entertainment, but there is a gradual and delicate evolvement about Josh and Natalie's relationship and affection.
That's what we look for in hook up apps and in not so real movies all bang and flash, the warm slow glow of love isn't appreciated, surprisingly this movie wasn't whole lot of cringe
istg the part where she was afraid to come down because of the heights and josh rushed to climb and calm her up there is one of the sweetest.
He shoved her 😂
I don‘t get why so many comments are about how predictable the plot of this movie is. Honestly it‘s a romcom what do you expect lol (not the genre with the most plot twists I‘d say). Even if it would be a fresh new take on the genre, it doesn’t necessarily have to have an unpredictable storyline to be enjoyable to watch imo. I think the Trailer looks quite good or at least better than I expected so I am definitely going to check it out before judging:)
I think people are referring to how much the movie revealed. Every genre has a predictable plot where we have an idea of the set up, but this specific trailer basically told the whole story and left nothing to the imagination. I'm sure it will be a good movie, but it's the trailer people are critiquing.
@@mentaleruptionsinc.4686 Unfortunately, movie companies check this again and again and predictable trailers sell more movie tickets. People claim "let there be some mystery" and then people don't watch movie where the lead might not get the girl. The data is so strong on this. And people claiming "I saw the movie in the trailer not watching this" are not necessary sticking to some random commitment they made somewhere weeks ago.
You are right! And it looks kinda cute too
@@kamischarougen4580 I don't understand that consensus because the point of a trailer should be to hype up a move. I guess that only works in a series of movies where the audience has background and just needs teasers to get excited. I understand why trailers are moving in the direction they are moving, but it seems counter productive.
@@mentaleruptionsinc.4686 That is a good point and it's definitely true that the trailer doesn't leave a lot of room for imagination, but I guess I just got the impression that "she is gonna fall for the catfish dude" or "we all know what's gonna happen, they are gonna do this and then this happens..." was more of like an assumption about the plot in general and critiquing how predictable the story is (probably) going to end, not just referring to how much was revealed in the trailer. (I do know that some people were only talking about the trailer though) :)
If this ends up with the catfisher and her falling for each other, the world is officially over.

Also, they touched a few sensitive topics about asian males and how they have a disadvantage when comes to dating so I really liked the message behind the movie. So i just watched the movie. SPOILERS AHEAD. From this trailer i guess we all got a bit scared of how they were going to treat the whole catfishing idea. But after actually watching the movie i think it was VERY well dealt with, she gave him a HARD time for it and everyone knew that it was wrong, and in the meantime she became aware that his personality was real and they are a good match. I actually really liked this movie and im not a romcom or xmas movies kinda girl. I also liked the interracial aspect since we dont get many layback movies that have it (and are not all about it)

@Marsonic the interracial propaganda is annoying tho. Idk about disgusting
Yea but for some reason the white woman feels the Asian guy is an ugly catfish and then he has to win her over with his personality. When will Hollywood stop portraying Asian males as unattractive nerds?
It’s teaching people who watches the film these set of characteristics are deemed undesirable. Unfortunately it is what it is and I’m grateful for it considering how much prejudice and racism that still exist in this part of the world, this is a good place to start. In the East, prejudice against nerd is not so much a thing. Nerd and everything else is weighed the same. I guess it’s because the cities of the east crime rate is lower so preference is differ when it comes to desirable trait.

My 1st thought xd
😂
meanwhile Damon and Devi in the corner 👁👄👁
I can already guess how this ends.
Fr
I was thinking the same thing lol
She looks old, how did that happened? She’s only thirty
Me too lol
@@thelonewolf7426 She was best looking in "Lets be cops"
This is one of my favorite comedy movies of all time. It was too much fun.
It's a sweet movie!!! I loved how this realization that you can only love when you love the imperfect as well is the key to lots of relationship issues
Just incredibly happy there is an Asian male love interest. Representation matters everyone!
Yeah totally!
Too bad reality tv shows still lack in Asian representation and I’m sick of it!
@@thatgirl9532 Reality shows are trash so it's probably for the best.
Both love interests are Asian, "Tag" is half Japanese.
@@joanna0988 true but it’s addictive and for someone that has tried everything ya know you apply you think you fit every criteria boom you get rejected not once but a few times yet they keeps asking you to apply and you know why yeah…
This starts off looking like a typical Hallmark Christmas movie-actually, it still has shades of it-but Jimmy O. Yang won me over. I may check it out.
jimmy! darren! nina! all my faves in one movie
This was trending number 2 on Netflix. So wholesome and funny lol.
1 now
I'm just happy to see Nina again :D and the fact that is a Christmas movie, its just a bonus!
This seems like a pretty obvious plot of the girl falling for the guy who’s ‘trying’ to help her get a different guy trope - but hopefully it’ll come off as fun and campy instead of another basic movie
The director Hernan Jimenez did a nice job with this movie. Congrats to him and hello to Costa Rica.
Best new holiday movie I’ve seen in awhile. Very fresh, touching, and hella funny. Didn’t expect it but def 10/10 added to the list for good 🎄❤️
This gives such a wrong idea if she ends up with the catfisher. Catfishing shouldn’t be normalized nor romanticized.
💯
@Franklin Benjamin If you think people aren't dumb enough to romanticize movies & emulate it or think its ok then you're in for a rude awakening. I think that was the point made in the comment.
@Franklin Benjamin The majority of people are what they watch, read, see, hang out, listen to. Humans are influenced consciously and subconsciously one way or another. That's why I don't watch reality TV. It's trash.
@Franklin Benjamin Is the rant necessary? It just looks like a dumb movie, period.
@Franklin Benjamin you sound like you like arguing just for the sake of arguing.
This trailer literally showed the whole movie
🤣
it did hahaha
Ikr. Litralllllyyyyyy!!!
The fact that it's name is from Die Hard and Love Actually. Love Hard. Imagine if it was other way round and was called Actually Die🤣🤣
This was a great rom-com!!! Anyone who hasn’t seen it & are here to see if they should watch it…. Yessss! Watch it!
Elena dating Paxton??? These Netflix crossovers are getting out of hand.
its the fact they are only two years apart. its fine
Wait till u see her kissing Otis Millburn
I really wish hollywood would just drop the whole „catfishing can lead to a relationship“ storylines because it’s just creepy and wrong and simply shouldn’t be romanticized 🙃
THANK YOU!
Agree!
Without these inappropriate jokes with the Lord... this movie is one of the best that i have ever seen... really enjoyed it.🎯
Just watched this movie and didn’t expect it to be so good! It was funny and heartfelt and really blew away my expectations! I highly recommend it!!
Jin Yangggg He just kept taking names huh😆. Then Erlich, now Josh
The twist should have been that the dates with Tag go bad, but then Josh confesses his true love for a local girl and she works to get them together and then it ends her alone again yet a bit more fulfilled and understanding about what love is while sipping coffee under the tree on Christmas Day.
Please start writing romcoms o.o
I love this
I love this, not to mention it also gives a positive message about self-love. plus it doesn't romanticize falling in love with a person who lied to you for possibly weeks or months. even though I do have a little bit of a soft spot for this trailer because I love the actors in it I don't like catfishing being normalized. I'm still reeling over clickbait.
This would actually be a nice not so predictable and for me honestly an enjoyable ending.......
Well, she should fall for the guy who cat-fished her based on the history of rom-coms, but they did a good job with the trailer, leaving a possibility that they might just stay friends..
It’s nice to see Asians have a big role in a Christmas movie 😊
i love that this film is directed by hernán jiménez, very proud of the costa rican success here.
this looks like it’s gonna be a cute movie, i love Nina and Darren so that’s already a plus for me. this other lead seems great too.
This looks great. I like her in rolls like this. She is a fine actor, and she’s not killing anyone.
She was a better actor when she was killing everyone.
i mostly like her in ham rolls
A light-hearted movie with good vibe for Christmas. Predictable but fun to watch. The last movie I watched on Netflix before my subscription ended.
A feel good Christmas movie. Honesty in ourselves is the beginning of true love and happiness
