In this video I put a Xilinx Varium C1100 FPGA head to head with RTX 3070s mining the cryptocurrency KASPA. How many 3070s does it take to the match the hashrate of the FPGA?

    • Most the mining specific FPGA cards were 5k+ when crypto was on a nice rally a fee years back, now would be the time if you want one but if you don't know how to use language to build bitstreams or want to learn it then I'd stay away from it.

  • It would be interesting to put 12x of these in an Octominer X12 case, block-off the opening where the Octominer is expecting dual-width cards (to improve airflow). That would be around 54Gh in a single Octominer X12

  • If crypto wasn't still in the ice ages I'd buy one. Great price. Not keen on the jet airliner fan required to get optimized cooling. Trying to keep all this on the downlow... haha 25 GPUs.. I think the cat is out of the bag a year ago but even the reduced price will still pop up on the cc and raise eyebrows. I have been forgiven for my "investment" once... can't push my luck again until I can prove it's a good investment long-term... so far... no love. Great video as always. I appreciate the other YTrs trying to keep the fire going but yeah... not a great info out there about much except if you buy anything now you basically know you will underwater for a long time. 🙂

  • C1100 vs E300, Mh/watt (OpEx) is somewhat close, C1100 is 35Mh/W and the E300 is 28Mh/W. However, price/hash (CapEx) the C1100 is $521/Gh and the E300 is $364/Gh. Seems the E300 is better in both CapEx and OpEx, although not by a huge amount. Edit: My CapEx on the C1100 is based on the $2371 price, if that is wrong then the CapEx will obviously be different.

  • FPGA E300 does 15gh/s on 400Watts may be even less, Fpga's can rule the kaspa however they are expensive.

    • No public bitstreams available that support it as far as I've seen. Was looking around because I still have a Blackminer F1.

  • the best strategy is to future-proof your mining equipment. i did this by buying 3 blackminer f1+ in the bear market, along with 2 jasminers. i plan on mining til the wheels fall off and not chase shitcoins like gpu miners do.

  • Peraso is cheap right now ticker PRSO they manufacture FPGAs compatible with AMD, XILINX, ARCHRONIX, INTEL chips.... It's a very undervalued semiconductor manufacturer... You're welcome for the tip...
