This is the $1 million Lagonda Taraf. When it first came to market, it was more expensive than two brand new Rolls Royce Phantoms! Today, it's lost some of that value, with this particular one being listed at around $600,000. There were only 120 of them made to celebrate 100 years of Aston Martin. And Aston Martin Rapide goes for sale between 55,000-60,000 USD. Aston Martin played the biggest April fool joke from 2014-2016 and charged a million dollars for it. Have to say, for a 1 million sedan it's surprisingly underwhelming. Yes, of course, the collectible status is great, but it would make more sense to produce it in higher qty at say 250-350K. But I digress.

I agree Tiger, it's elegant, graceful and understated, much less brash than a Rolls or Merc models try too hard and which are too much in your face! That Lagonda cabin looks like a relaxing cool place to be with nice finish and bledn of materials and the V12 should be enough to make steady progress and the exclusivity should keep residuals high. Looking at the size of it, it probably looks far more impressive in the flesh. I like it!

I agree. It's price is based on its rarity not its overall quality, specifically its mechanical quality. A lot of these marques are expensive because of the materials used but that hefty pricetag doesn't include its engine quality.

I didn't think anyone could marry up the DB lines to those of a saloon, but it works. As a chauffeur, rear headroom and ease of entry/exit is the first thing I look for and it seems to do that well. The only concern to me is a decent boot/trunk but if it carries all of the occupant's belongings, job done. Beautiful car, greetings from Queensland.

I would think that the cost of the Lagonda reflects the limited production run. You have to spread the fixed costs over a very small number of units. But, as a result, the owner knows that he has a car that is very unique. I have seen literally dozens of Rolls Phantoms over the years, but I have never seen a Lagonda. Some people are willing to pay for exclusivity. That is the reality for most collectibles.
