Atrium Carceri presents us the album Forgotten Gods, exploring the underworld beneath our cities.
"Far below the abandoned subway stations and sewers our reality collapses as tunnels turns to labyrinths and ritual halls where ancient cults chant in the dark. And deeper still, old civilizations of insectoid guardians and biomechanical priests guard outwordly artifacts and passageways to the ancient city.
Here roam the forgotten gods whom the unfortunate dwellers of the dark worship.
Here roam the hybrid creatures forged in the Machine City as its decaying birthing chambers cry for human eggs and seminal fluids.
Here the gates to the ancient city opens momentarily into the eternal labyrinth if you'd be unwise enough to visit..."

Her: What kind of music are you into? Me: It’s complicated.
is that hitler with sunglasses on your profile picture?
😁😁
Saying like I / she care anyways Me
Not complicated. It s a dark ambient.
yea. i just show people my spotify fav list cuz its too difficult to explain. its such a huge range, but mostly of "extreme" type of music, or ambient-ish stuff. "i listen to everything youve never heard of"

@DD-dz9ge Actually.. this is a weird way of approving the myth "using 100% of the brain". Even though, that's not at all what's happening. Everyone uses the brain at 100%, creative people just use it at 102%.

It’s uncanny. I’ve been living life without any direction. To the point where I suspect I have no future. As if I’ve been on this “pathway to nothing.” Synchronicity at its finest. I take this as a sign. For what? I don’t know. I’ll figure it out.
Its all about the timeline you choose brother. You have to align the potential with your desires. Potential is a field stretched throughout Reality and it can be transformed into action by action. - Like attracts like.
Atrium Carceri's full genius on display here. No other artist really nails the cold, lonely, confused vibe of dark ambient while retaining a familiarity that borders on the welcoming. At once, harrowing and peaceful. A stunning collection of tracks. Revelations from the book of flesh is a borderline masterwork.

Bohren & der club of gore. Check it out
Metatron Omega would give him a run for his money.
Hell yeah, that track slaps!
I checked out Metatron Omega - and the first track I clicked on makes this album seem like dogshit. It's probably the same person nonetheless

I gotta try this.

The picture resembles an Orthodox Monk. No idea if Atrium Carceri studied this, probably they did, but Orthodox Christianity (the true, ancient form of it) is an Apophatic Theology. It focuses on the Unknown Mysteries of God. Deep meditation in the swirling 4th Dimension where the Angels reside. That is why Orthodox monks go into the woods or caves and succumb to a live of meditation and ignorance of their physical form. Amazing.
Esoteric Christianity and even Suffi Yeshua are massively interesting topics. Truely, I tell you.
Apparently a monk spent 40 years in a pillar in semi-isolation. I'm guessing it's related to this
@@evansuarez973 Saint Simeon Stylites... "Simeon had a pillar erected with a small platform at the top, and upon this he determined to take up his abode until death released him. At first the pillar was little more than nine feet high, but it was subsequently replaced by others, the last in the series being apparently over fifty feet from the ground." Early Church Saints were GOATs.
You truly seem to be informed, thanks for sharing so the one's prepared keep their path on studies and practices.
Yes I am Russian Orthodox - look up history of our saints, we have ppl that go live in the siberian wilderness with only a coat and a cup and survive for years in the harshest conditions in the world. But Christianity is just platonism for the masses.
Ritual of the Abyss at 15:40 is sick. I envision some shackled demon or tormented prisoner just dragging his chains around for eternity. Truly unique kind of music that allows the mind to go rogue in a dark, mysterious but calm way.
I had to skip ahead just to see…. it’s confirmed

I thought it sounded like a blade on a sharpening stone.
Heard the first track in a warhammer 40k video about Fabius Bile talking with Slaanesh. The unease fits the atmosphere perfectly.

I love how many other people listen to this and really enjoy it - you guys are my people, and I adore you.
I play this for hours now repeat daily.
Birds of a feather flock together! I've been following Cryo Chamber and Atrium Carceri specifically for almost a decade, he never fails to deliver.
I only found cryo about 3 or 4 years ago. Man I wish I had followed it since day 1. Glad I made it here though. Cryo is one of the best of the best. I was searching for something my dna was asking for, a darkness of a certain kind. Found it. @@ivancar555

Working in the depths of a forgotten lab on the last remnants of my MA project…
MA submitted and accepted. TY! This work will always be a fond memory. Now to listen again as I make some corrections for sending it out...
Saq this on a 40k dub and this captures the vibe of a chaos god for sure
Meditating into the deep bowls of hell. Fire , rage. A soldier of death and destruction.

The Adeptus Mechanicus plays this album on repeat without fail. Glory to the Omnissiah! Love how wonderfully deeply layered those instruments are in each song. There is a dark and dense sense of slow pacing building in the viewers mind the slow and ponderous movement of the Forgotten Gods lurking beyond the veil - hungering for worship and sacrifice to them by Humans.
The flesh, is weak…
@@NME10E - For the Machine is Immortal!
Glory to the Omnissiah! Blessed by thy Augmetics.
I might be one stupid Astra Millitarum cannon fodder but how do you connect this album with the machine god?
@@Stickysaltbread - I recently played the Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus game and the soundtrack is very similar to this in tone. My brain just connected the two I suppose. :) Plus, I like what we know of the Adeptus Mechanicus is just what is allowed to be known about them. You just know they got some crazy stuff going on in the darkest regions of Mars.
Simon at it again with another set of BANGERS
Ritual for the Abyss sounds like pure evil essence manifested in soundtrack.
Please keep conjuring strange and mysterious worlds forever. They are strangely such an immersive comfort and really help with day dreaming new ideas and being creative. Love this new record!
just bought subwoofers for my audio setup and listening to this brought it to a new level
the warhammer 40k mechanicus vibes i get from this album are so immense , and i'm fully here for it !
Atrium Carceri albums never disappoint
WE WORSHIPPING SHAR OUR LADY OF LOSS WITH THIS ONE 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥
I’ve been able to start steaming through my read of the Horus Heresy while listening to this in the background. Sometimes it syncs up very nicely with what I’m reading.
I've never saved a video to my sleepytime playlist so fast
I promised not to spoil myself this month, but then this came out so...CD ordered :)
Used this in my DnD abyssal horror campaign, my players loved it! Great work.
EXACTLY, this is what I expected from an Atrium Carceri album, sublime!
If anyone is familiar with the Red Rising trilogy, this sountrack is very evocative of The Reaper, Darrow au Andromedus and the Iron Rain conquering of Mars in book two.
Halfway through this, I bought the digital album. I love, love, love Atrium Carceri! Their soundscapes ignite mental imagery like nothing else does! Atrium Carceri proves there is great power in subtlety!
Drove out of Alamogordo with this on the car's speakers... The machine drove itself from bright daylight illuminating distant mountains into a sun-bleached concrete ribbon between ruined ancient fortresses clinging to the cliffsides and the profiles on the horizon of sleeping dragons so vast their spinal scales were the mountains themselves... Past the white sands of quartz like snow... past Trinity itself... all to these sounds.
Got the notification and i just know its gonna be hard
Fantastic as always been a fan for a long time. keep up the great work Simon!
When I was in my early 20's I started exploring dark ambient music. First I discovered Raison D'etre, later I discovered Atrium Carceri. His music was so dark, and I loved it. Even tough I can't listen to his work today I am glad he was there for me.
Why can't you listen anymore? Bad trip gone wrong?
@@joebagadonuts3566 no drugs what so ever but loss in a family. the music is too dark to still listen it today.
Subterrestrial Threshhold, OMG! this is great!
Totally agree with you!
Thank you so much for the upload! I absolutely adore Atrium Carceri's brilliance. The music collection is perfect for studying and working.
Amazing as always, never change!
A person who really enjoys Lovecraft's stories here. I started listening to cult music like this while reading, and I immediately fell in love with the eerie feeling it gave me. This music helped me immerse into the stories so well. So I just wanna say thank you for bringing all those wonderful pieces together into a long video, I'm loving it.
I'm doing the same! :)
@@kwitczak19 It's always nice to see a fellow Lovecraft reader. May I ask which stories are your favourite?
Absolutely!@@YourBelovedM I like the "Shadow over Innsmouth" the most and recently I acquired a book written by Polish authors who, inspired by that story, written an entire book composed of prequel/sequel scenarios to the original Innsmouth story. It's called "Kroniki Arkham: Widma nad Innsmouth". There are 3 such books that I consume right now :)
@@kwitczak19 That sounds very interesting! It's not easy to find something good inspired by Lovecraft, and Shadow Over Innsmouth is a really good story, too, so I'll check these books out some time. Thank you for sharing :)

Full album drop?! Let's get it! 5 seconds in, and I'm covered in chills - RITUAL FOR THE ABYSS... Underground, Chamber of Rebirth. Shrieking of Angels, Throne Room... Oh man, absolutely sublime! Tak.
Another superb release by this master of atmosphere. That leaves a great impact and demands more listens.
holy shit this is good! i've been waiting for something more in line with your old dark ambient beats for a long time. this is a welcome change!
Omg ! Atrium at its finest !!! Thank You soooo much !!!
A pleasure for my soul
banger. I love this, especially the chants. might be my fav cc release so far
this is a level closer to perfection that i haven't been able to experience before.
Easy pick for album of the year for me.

Very good for studying and meditating on this sound. Transmits a lot of peace and energy.
This is amazing, really makes my imagination run wild with memories of places i've never been to.

GORGEOUS!!!
Simon strikes again. I have been looking forward to this.
Oh yes cryo chamber, you are my favorite. If I only had 1 chanel to be allowed to pick and I was isolated in a dark cell underground, but had access to that one chanel, it would be cryo chamber.
Praise Atrium!
great experience while designing/creating arts... thank you
'Revelations from the Book of Flesh' is a stand out!!
Wow. This mite be a new favorite. Took me on a journey.
Something about this is so mysterious yet dark but so conforting to the ears
Pure inspiration and Masterpiece…
awesome stuff!
I feel so comfortable listen to this.
Bro I put off listening to this for so long, because I (ignorantly) had written off Atrium Carceri as just "background music" up to this point (while writing etc). Man was I wrong... This just randomly started playing from one of my playlists and my mind is blown. This is so good. Deep, varied, atmospheric, gripping and dark in such interesting and diverse ways. I love it. I have to apologize for being so dismissive before 🙏
metamonad Once again Simon delivers an art piece worthy of an insufferably long wait. Full of dark captivating energy and hidden messages, a beautiful new chapter in the Grand Story.
Such a haunting and immersive experience, yet comforting as well toward the end. I was getting some vibes of Earthbound and Eternal Darkness. Those sporadic brassy sounds in Summoning Troupe really remind me a bit of "The Cliff That Time Forgot" from Earthbound. Great album.
This album is crazy good. Wow. I think youve captured the abyssal and esoteric qualities level by level. The lead up and playing of underground is a dark, scary adventure with loneliness as respite in the dark to shy away from the older and primitive chaos.
atrium ate like fuckin always. 10/10
Can’t stop listening to this introspective masterpiece ❤️
Masterpiece!
I just clicked on a suggestion. This is some of the most beautiful art ive had the privilege to experience in a long time.
OMG! I love this!!!!
glad this pulled me right in
phenomenal
Surprisingly palatable! 👏
Hell, i like it.. instant purchase. Great work.
Como soundrack esto sería maravilloso, cada canción es un inquietante paseo por las ruinas de un templo olvidado, perfecto para esas noches de oscuridad y silencio, el mejor trabajo que he escuchado el más oscuro de todos, simplemente espectacular.
I was low key reluctant to listen to this album, but did so after reading everyone's comments. Y'all were so right too, this is a really interesting work of music, thanks for helping me open myself up to something new and cool :D
