The India men's national volleyball team represents India in international volleyball competitions which is managed by Volleyball Federation of India. It is currently sponsored by Sahara India Pariwar and Asics.
Volleyball Federation history
The Volleyball Federation of India was formed in the year 1951. Prior to the formation of the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI), the game was controlled by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and at that time the Interstate Volleyball Championship was held every two years from 1936 to 1950 for men only. The first Championship was held in the year 1936 at Lahore (now in Pakistan). In 1951, Volleyball Federation of India was formed and its first meeting was held in Ludhiana (Punjab).

  • There are very less grounds and tournaments for Volleyball in India . Kids play Cricket Everyday everywhere in the Country so it is very tough to find people who are completely dedicated to it . I've been the captain of my Highschool and college volleyball team and I love the sport so much but I also play cricket and there were more facilities and tournaments for cricket than there is for Volleyball . If Volleyball gets equal promotion I'm sure we can see our boys in VNL often...

  • In my college there was an open volleyball tournament and In the finals mehol sports hostel boys played against the national volleyball veterans of postal department and my god what a furious match it was,full of excitement extremely competitive in which the young boys emerged as winners That was the day this sport became one of my favourites...😌
