Kaddish for Amy Winehouse
@mischlingbeerandcigarman8 күн бұрын
all of this is absolutely mythical: the introduction before singing, which reveals her sense of humor and charisma, her iconic and totally out-of-time hair, her dress, worn in "tears dry", her eyeliner... and boom! Suddenly she starts singing and everything comes together: her perfect phrasing, her sharp jazz timing, her delivery to the song, her lost gaze and her voice, which sounds like it came out of a New Orleans blues bar in 1940. And then, everything ends and she leaves the stage, says goodbye to the audience, and receives an ovation. Everything Amy is here! it is a synthesis of what she was. modern and ancient. brilliant and lost. visceral and fragile. loved and alone. GOAT

It has only been the last 4 years or so I started to listen to more recent music and man have I missed out. Amy's sound is like fine wine. It gets better with age. Her music is timeless and I have no doubt my grandkids will be listening to her for years to come. Her "Valerie" track with Mark Ronson makes this old man want to get up and dance. Love it and love her! She may be gone but her musical legacy with outlive all of us.

Kaddish for Amy Winehouse
all of this is absolutely mythical: the introduction before singing, which reveals her sense of humor and charisma, her iconic and totally out-of-time hair, her dress, worn in "tears dry", her eyeliner... GOAT

Everything about this concert is so beautiful. The beats came from drummer non stop. The bassist with straight face plays like it was nothing to him. The dancers bursting with high energy. Amy herself with beautiful voice and dance. So amazing!! 2022 still watching ✌️
It actually hurts, a true heartache, when I watch this, my favorite song. She was so broken, and it was plain as day to see, and nobody stepped up to catch her as she was falling. So many people, way too many people, let this lovely lady down. There will never be another like Amy.

Raspy vocals are literally the most beautiful! So much soul and rawness
So true. People try to seek perfection when they sing but I swear theres something about the raspy vocals with control that give it so much soul.
Hear ya, and that's why Janis is one of my favorites too.
While everyone on stage is praying not to miss one note she is just being herself.

Beautiful and so vulnerable. She had it all. We miss you Amy. Isn't it strange that someone you've never met can have such a profound effect on so many people?
I ask the same questions!

MIFNP I feel like crying when I drove past her i was going through a mantle drinking girlfriend period when she on in papers onit she reminds me of times when it was the last mad good times before the shit hit the fan for me. Now I am in AA I still feel she made everything feel okay, hard to explain she was my Allie and I never even knew her. Lol miss you always. Love you Amy you shone so brightly a true supernova.
