Matt is out with his buddies Tyler, Benjamin, and Bryce. They head out to a new spot to do some duck and goose hunting. The morning started off great with snow geese showing up to the spread early. As the day progressed, the goose hunting got better. Even was able to do some duck hunting as well. The highlight of the day was Benjamin getting his first snow goose ever! It was a great day of duck and goose hunting.

    • The right dog will, Matt. They adapt to you. Mine will sit on a tree stand, sit on kayak, lay beside me in a layout, blind or stay in an A-frame. If it were not for my dogs, I would not care to go (as much). I hunt Goldens. But, I understand it is a commitment. My loss ratio is under 3% a year. My enjoyment is tripled when they find that lost duck. Not just because of the duck but because dog work is another pleasure in itself. I am just trying to persuade you. I know that the guys on the internet are very critical of dog work; a reason I may not have one if I had a channel. (They are also good on pheasants, quail, and grouse!)

      @Swygard@Swygard Жыл бұрын
    • @@Swygard Oh I'd love a dog. But I don't think I could trek in ice or waist deep water with one. When I get one, it'd be more for companionship than anything else. I also don't have any interest in training a dog, not to mention the time it takes. My garden keeps me plenty busy in the summer haha.

      @HighPrairieSportsmen@HighPrairieSportsmen Жыл бұрын
    • @@HighPrairieSportsmen Matt, I definitely understand. The ice and the water are no issue. But the time is. I just kept a puppy out of my final litter for two years for future puppy making. I have to train her and I do not have time. But she is a ringer! She carried a gwt around for five minutes at 9 weeks old. (Not by the neck, but full body in mouth). I am excited.
