@@rhodhernaez480 i havent soldered anything yet, but i have a brief understanding that you're dealing with a very hot tool. The Fumes emitted from osuldering are toxic. And that you can easily f* up ypur pcb if you don't know what you're doing

Man I watched this video pretty much when it came out because I was researching on keyboards back then, but then did nothing as life had other plans. Now today I wanted to watch this video again because I thought ut was insightful but couldn't find it as it was in no playlist of mine. After a lot of trial and error the search for keywords 'Keyboard Royal Kludge Banggood Solder' brought this video up, as I somehow remembered the keyboard brand and that it had banggood links in description
This was incredibly helpful! Was watching tutorials for how to lube switches and immediately clicked on this from the side bar. I've been looking for some time now for a soldering kit that wasn't a bit expensive. Perfect video for the topic in my opinion. If I had to be nit picky, and it may be an identical process to installing a switch (in which case apologies for my ignorance), as someone who has never put stabilizers back into a board I couldn't help but notice that's about the only thing missing from this video.

for the coral sea keycaps, there are many different versions of those keycaps so if you don't like the font or the shade of colors or where and how big the designs are you could probably find a different version to you liking

Ok so basically what you did was you lubed everything.
and added something for the sound and added nice keycaps
he added lubed the switches and stabs, added foam and new keycaps not THAT new
it is the same when building your custom keyboard except that disassembly is needed in this case.

i have this keyboard and i lubed all the switches and it took me 5 or 6 hours i did it in two days it was worth the wait it sounds and feels amazing
I don’t understand this comment section’s problem with how he upgraded it. He kept the same RK switches, which aren’t very good, which is a big factor in an upgrade. He used the same plate, stabilizers, and the only large addition was the foam mod. This is one of the more minimal upgrades I’ve seen, he could have changed everything besides the case and called it an upgrade. Great video!
You can fill any half decent keyboard with silicone, put good lubed switches and keycaps in it and have a winner. Don't let the custom people's rationalization of how much money they spent get to you. You can have 90% of what they have besides looks.

Yes! A lot of people in this hobby are so detached from reasonable pricing that they see a custom TKL kit for $500 and think “oh that’s pretty cheap.” I have a GK61 that I’m quite proud of because I modded it so much that it sounds and feels higher end, and I didn’t have to spend hundreds to do it. I hope more beginners in this hobby see these comments and understand that they can have excellent keyboard experiences without spending an entire paycheck.

Its 5:24am. Im just browsing KZhead. And i see the keycaps i bought back in January for my Pink Razer Black Widows. Then i see the cheap key board i got for my work PS4 😂 only difference is my Royal Kludge is Blues not reds. I split the key caps and kept only the letters for this key cap set on the Royal Kludge and the Spacebar and all the exterior keys on my Razer. The mix of the Teal and Pink keys looks so nice

In today's dosis of squashy boy: how to make $50 keyboard worth $200
No offense but I'm hoping that you're joking, after modding this thing could only worth 70usd at its best, the switches in this keyboard arent good. The rk61 is only around 25-30usd here, and that keycaps set is only around 15usd. The lubricate and modding would takes hours but overall 20bucks at its best included the assemble fee. The stabilizer is not that good even after modding and the switches are not even worth lubing bc the difference is minor. Consider what a 200usd keyboard bring you (nk65 for 95 bucks, the alpacas for 50usd/70swtiches shipping included and some random keycaps set for 40usd +10usd lubricate and shipping fee) I think the experience will far more be better. Sorry if I'm being too serious

thats literally what upgrading is.
To be fair, I put about $80 into mine, since I had the hotswap model and so putting new switches in didn't even require fully disassembling the keyboard, simply pulling them out
when your upgraded $50 keyboard sounds better than your custom
Do the keyboard sounds change because of the foam pad at the bottom or not because I am planning to do so
