A little detail: Earlier in the film, the Joker talks about how people usually reveal their true character in their last moments, and in Joker's last moments he is laughing his head off, showing his true character
@Repo man oops I watched the movie again yesterday and I worded it wrong, he said "in their last moments, people show who they really are"

Not so sure. I think he laughed because he thought he'd won, but then Batman saves him at the last second, still upholding his "one rule"
I just realized that two-face's coin has a dark and light side. The dark side, you die, the light side, you live. Rachael is kept in a dark room full of oil and ends up dying, and Dent is kept in a light room, and lives.
Good catch bro
But that’s just a theory, a GAME THEORY
The coin started off as a coin with two head sides... One of the sides got burnt in the fire that made Harvey 2-face. Harvey was in control all along, two-face had come to the realisation that nothing can be controlled and leaves everything upto fate and chance...

Finding out that Heathe Ledger wanted to be beat to make the scene more real just shows how committed he was to that role and why it's arguably the best Joker performance ever
@NO: agreed. I never saw Heath in any movie until this one. After seeing this movie, I thought what an incredible actor. He must of had some issues because when art imitates life or visa-versa, I wondered if Heath knew where one ended and the other started. Then Heath died. None the less, a GREAT actor in this movie. He is one of the main persons responsible for the snap tho. Not directly but his selfish actions have caused it
Of course this quote does not apply to Loki, since it was meant for characters who fall from their grace. Loki was a trickster and villain to begin with. Also I am not sure if Loki's death in Infinity War can be called heroic although he somewhat redeemed himself by claiming to be Odinson.

wtf I could that swore he said that in the video
It’s crazy how little credit joker gets for how good his planning is
Yes and no. It's unrealistic that he had everything in place before staging the bank robbery because that's the only way that he could have pulled it all off. He would've needed to have the ferries wired along with the hospital and have chosen a guy to insert a phone bomb into. He wouldn't have had enough time to do everything as it happened.
@@idksom8928 we don't know that. There's never been a time frame given on anything
Do he look like a man who had a plan?
@@scorpiusbalthazar4327 The Joker had access to many people in the mob and oftentimes drugs and things like that are shipped in on boats so he could have had men that worked on the docks. The bombs in the hospital werent so hard to place if he had people on the inside as well, and the Joker is well-known for being very convincing. Besides that, it was never said that all of these things were set up before the bank robbery, they could have been planned beforehand, but that doesnt mean they were set up. Also the Joker has always had the mind of a genius.
@@unouloveme5495 it had to be setup beforehand because there wasn't enough time otherwise. I love the bomb-timer. It has always driven me nuts how some action movies will have a bomb about to blow in 30 seconds but there's 2-3 mins, or whatever the case, of scenes leading up to it.
Something I noticed about the similar scenes between Alfred and Bruce after big character deaths is that in Begins when Bruce breaks down and blames himself for his parents, Alfred comforts him and tells him it isn't his fault. In TDK, when Bruce breaks down and asks if Rachel is his fault, Alfred doesn't let Bruce off the hook this time. He tells him that Bruce spat in the face of criminals and that casualties were always inevitable. It shows how their dynamic has had to change over the years. That Alfred can't just be the coddling parent anymore and has to have a firmer hand with Bruce and kick him in the ass a bit to keep him going on his path.

Another detail. When joker hands Harvey the gun in the hospital, he keeps his thumb on the hammer, so if Harvey had pulled the trigger, it wouldn’t have gone off anyway.
The echo location tech he used on Lau and to find joker is also a nod to a bat, cuz bat uses echo location!
The scene when Batman and Lucius are in China, Lucius shows Batman his new phone’s capability that can map a room through wave frequencies just like sonar. Batman then says “just like a...” but Lucius interrupts him and says “just like a submarine, like a submarine” BECAUSE Batman was going to say “just like a bat” but Lucius was being extra careful, who knows who could have been listening and said Submarine before he could have said bat.
Really impressive
He’s not being careful, that’s a recurring joke from Batman Begins where Bruce pretends he needs gear for whacky sports and hobbies and Lucious pretends to be thick. Watch the movies back to back realizing this and when Batman appears to him in TDK with the sonar tech it really gives the scene a lot of pop for the audience. Lucious has to do something he isn’t comfortable with and the audience is uncomfortable with the change of their relationship in this scene.

Holy shit Vince Gilligan is a genius
Also, when joker is talking about his 'Scars' he could be talking about mental ones from his life, exaggerated to make people think about his facial scars
One thing I noticed in the dialogue that I think is sad, awesome, and beautiful is that something Batman says at the climax echoes something Joker said to Jim Gordon. In the interrogation scene, Joker asks Jim if it troubles him knowing how deeply alone he truly is. When the two groups of people in the boats don't blow each other up, Batman says, "What are you trying to prove? That deep down inside, everyone's just as ugly as you? You're alone in the world!" The Joker's whole reason for all this madness is that he feels alone, because he's the only monster of his kind. So, he's trying to prove that deep down, everyone's a monster like him. He's trying to create more monsters so he doesn't have to be alone anymore.

Yeah but if at 10:40 Remember how joker said choose who to kill, not who to save. So if harvey was at 250 52nd street, and batman chose to go to 250 52nd street thinking that's where harvey was he would then be choosing justice. The only way that's not true is if batman knows the joker is telling him mixed addresses and that the opposite person is at each address. So then he would be choosing to save rachel as he thinks which then would be love over justice, and because of his not understanding jokers wording he would then be choosing to kill rachel. BUT the flaw with this is that in order to chose this debated form of justice he would have to choose rachel to die so that harvey could live. So it doesn't make a ton of sense because anyway we write it the joker wins and batman is never choosing "justice." Also having an innocent woman die is not justice either so technically saving either person is just. Help me understand if that's not what he was saying but I am pretty sure it was.
I think the point is to make batman suffer no matter which decision he takes🤷♂️

The true genius of the Joker is that he fools you into thinking they don't have a plan ;p
The vegetable cutter was there and got extra focus from the cop hesitating as likely a reference or hint to how the joker really got his scars My reasoning is that One: among all the blades that can be clearly distinguished, the cutter is the only one that isn’t really a knife or a proper weapon/tool that could be used to kill Two: It clearly got extra focus, and you also just pointed out how everything is intentional Three: The Joker is the type to keep and carry around the same thing that gave him such a traumatizing injury Four: The scars are rough and are clearly not clean cut as you would expect from a traditional knife, indicating that an alternate weapon that still had an edge that could cut was used Bonus: The cutter appeared to be damaged indicating that it was used in a way it wasn’t meant to, like being jabbed into a face and used to cut said face
Nice theory!
I'd like to disagree, The cutter is a weapon in it's own right, it's just a fine a weapon as most shanks. Some cutters are actually sharpened at the point, but never the edges. This one looks to be sharpened at the point and thus makes for a weapon. And I have a hard time believing that the dull edge could cut living skin and muscle i.e. the cheek. It could be argued that the point was used, I could see that as a maybe.
@@CorwainTheMad and I would also like to disagree. Anything can be used as a weapon, so thus anything with a blade can be as well. However what I noted was that it appeared to be damaged (i.e. missing the back of it that is commonly found on such cutters). I’m not sure if it’s different for others but growing up for me the cutter/peeler had more or less the same design, to blades at an angle with a back to them. And if pressed hard enough (as with any blade) the can cut skin (i.e. when I was a child and learning how to peel fruit, it got caught and after pressing down to hard it cut through and ended up slicing one of my finger tips). So if it was used purposefully to cut, especially so deep, it could; but it would of course not be clean. And out of everything that was the only blade that wasn’t actually a knife/weapon.
Jhonwick with his pencil disagrees
The movie was so damn good we didn't even notice the camera crew
Another thing no one noticed is about the party where Joker throws Rachel out of the window. The scene cuts to the next day or something like that. So what, Joker left quietly after throwing her out of a window and Batman saves her? What do the goons and Joker do? "Sorry folks but I wanted to bring out Batman and I succeeded. Have a nice night" and then leaves? Doesn't make sense.
Best film ever, I rewatch this at least more than 50 times, no jokes.. alot of new details u pointed out here great job!
They shouldve extended the DC Universe around that trilogy!
Ikr?!?!
they wasted a gold mine. it really would've helped the dceu.
No these movies are work of art and must be left alone
On the other hand, these are so grounded, that a world with aliens and gods would be really hard to pull off well.
They wanted to but it wouldn’t fit with Nolan’s vision for Batman
No one going to acknowledge that Alfred doesn’t age 😳 he looks the exact same in both the movies, when Bruce was a child, and when Bruce was an adult
Fr
That's because the actor was always old, just like Morgan Freeman xD
@@niklash5088 have you not seen shawshank redemption?
Hello mr. Reese
To be fair Micheal Caine has looked the same for the last 25+ years.
This is amazing. I love it. So much that I have never noticed or even read about before
wow just wow thanks for the details lad
This is the only movie I actually like to learn more about even if its just little details. My favorite movie ever
This movie is a masterpiece.
It was fun to go watch when they filmed downtown Pittsburgh exciting times
Amazing film but Batman Begins was better.
Just imagine heath ledger's joker, robbie's harley quinn & christian bale's batman together...
Get Nolan back on it with his writing and film-making skill you got the next DC hit film
Nolan doing the dceu correctly 👌👌
No, Affleck’s Batman
🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@CeeWorld69 absolutely not
Something I just noticed, right at the start where you have the Spider-Man poster, there is a building across to the left with Payday written on the side. Considering this is the start of a heist, it could be a nod to the videogame series Payday, which is about heists.
You missed the oft pointed out scene where Joker has the revolver to his own head for Dent to pull the trigger but Joker's hand is blocking the hammer from striking in case Dent decides to kill him.
Canadian lad : I've watched Dark Knight in 0.25 speed and found 30 new details . DC fans: yeah !! Our time has come!
no thanks. 99% of what he said is already at IMDB. and how the hell he compared the joker to thanos.
This is awesome how he uploaded a non marvel movie and I love it because I'm both DC and Marvel fan The Dark Knight Trilogy , is my favorite trilogy from DC 💯
well obviously he will run out marvel movie to watch and need another source for his content
And yet Marvel still somehow managed to sneak in. 0:20
Yes!! You can choose to love both.
Totally wow very wow indeed
Seen lots of comments said (hei, on 0:25 there is PAYDAY sign and joker is also about to rob bank wearing same mask like in Payday game) let me tell you son. Dark knight released in 2008 while 1st payday game released in 2011. How could it be a reference for a game that didnt even exist in 2008?
Very good analysis 👍🏼
