Father punches son's accused killer in Ohio court

A father attacked his son's accused killer in a Cincinnati courtroom on Thursday.
Antonio Hughes lunged at defendant Desean Brown and punched him repeatedly. Officers subdued Hughes, but he attacked again once he was on his feet.
He was removed from court, charged with contempt, and ordered to serve seven days in jail.
Hughes was the father of 3-year-old Nylo Lattimore.
Prosecutors say in 2020 Brown murdered Nylo's mother, Nyteisha and put Nylo into the Ohio River while he was still alive. The boy's body was never found.
Nyteisha Lattimore was Brown's girlfriend at the time.
Brown faces charges including two counts of murder.

    • @@MrBurns0618 You’re confusing a defense strategy vs. discretion; diminished capacity vs. heat of passion vs. insanity. All have different issues pertaining to men’s rea. In this case & others, it’s the DA’s choice to charge people & the judges to dismiss it or jail time. Heat of passion or diminished capacity,is a strategy saying you were overcome or provoked by that intense emotion. You still know right from wrong but lacked the self-control to stop yourself bc of said uncontrollable, impaired emotions, like PTSD. Insanity defense means you have a psychiatric disorder that impairing the ability to know right from wrong at the time you committed your crime. You have to be able to understand that what you did was a crime, understand the charges & consequences you’re facing, as well as be able to assist in your defense. Being pissed is not a psychiatric illness. He knew attacking the defendant was wrong but still did it anyway. That’s not insanity, diminished capacity or heat of passion either. He just didn’t give a fxck & wanted hand out some street justice despite knowing the consequences.

  • As a dad, I can't in any way, shape or form feel anything but grief and empathy for the father. Children change who we are as people. His anger and rage towards that man came from the deep love he has for his son. It comes from the pain of losing the best part of ourselves. The part given to us by our children. Killing, neglecting, harming, scaring and hitting children are the worst offenses in our reality. Those who don't recognize that shouldn't be among us.
