Humanist Wedding Ceremony with Hilarious Poem // Jamie and Megan
Hi everyone!
We hope you enjoy our wedding ceremony video in the gardens of Holywell Hall, on a warm and breezy Saturday in July 2019.
For those couples looking for a slightly alternative wedding ceremony for their special day, we hope ours gives you some ideas and inspiration of what a humanist ceremony could look like.
We loved the thought of writing our own script, vows and adapting poems, making them light and funny at times!
Gramps’ adaptation of Denise Jones’ poem Marriage is for Life, not just the Wedding Day had everyone in stitches! It’s well worth a listen.
And the icing on the cake (excuse the pun) was having Jamie’s Dad lead the entire proceedings - something we’ll never forget.

Her dress it’s just unreal matching headband and long veil just makes the whole look incredible nicest bride I have ever seen and I’ve seen a lot and love my wedding dresses I cannot cope with the amazing venue everything is just perfect the flowers everything this is what an perfect wedding looks like you can see they really taught everything deeply threw even the boys suits where amazing hope your day was as perfect as it looked xx

Well, this is the most stunning wedding, I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a lot being my immediate family size is 125 and ever growing! Prayers for a wonderful life together. Never forget that nothing is too big to tackle if you stand together!
This lovely wedding reminded m of my own wedding, over 27 years ago. It brought tears to my eyes.
This video called me unattractive in like 73 different languages whilst I'm sitting here at midnight - tissues in hand - absolutely bawling my eyes out. This is so beautiful and I am utterly envious of those who got to be there for it. Congratulations!!! (P.S. I love the fact that you made it your own! I had never though of having a more personal and intimate ceremony, and the way you did it was so moving and relaxed, just stunning really, along with the two of you of course!)

Jamie & Megan, I watched your reception video shortly after it was first posted. And I shared it with others so they could be as touched with emotion as I. I listened to it more than once and would "visit" it every once in a while because it spoke so deeply to me about the quality of your new journey together. Tonight, it just happened to be "recommended" to me again. This time there is so much more to watch and enjoy. I cried the first time, but now you've made me stay up very late and cry and cry so much more. Happy tears! Joyful tears.
