Philips Fidelio X2HR: amzn.to/3uHXdij

In this video I take a look at the Philips Fidelio High Resolution Headphones with The v-moda BoomPro mic attached.
You can buy these as a set on Amazon (Link Above) for $/£155.
Although I don't usually test Headphones - once you attach a mic that says its for Gaming - it becomes a gaming headset, right?
The Fidelio X2HR sport 50mm Neodymium drivers that punch out some amazing audio for movies, Music and single player gaming.
Sim Razing was an amazing experience as was Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
The only down fall I found was on FPS games such as Warzone. its not to say these were bad, more that they lacked the tuning that goes into "Gaming" Headsets.
All in all, I was impressed with the Fidelio x2hr.
The same sadly cannot be said for the mic - that's harsh - its cheap but you can tell.
The v-moda mic is okay for the price but wont win you any prizes in the Discord awards.
A good combination purchase for the all rounders out there but for Gaming only - I wouldn't recommend. for the same price you could pick a good set of mid to high end gaming cans.

  • You want spatial awareness when playing fps, open headphones enhances this and the Philips has great detail as he said. He should not use any effects other than stereo to make this happen. The games itself have all the effects you want regarding sound, specialized for the specific game, do not use some standard Windows sound effect. And I promise, no headset will come with a better mic. That someone would complain in discord is crazy, I have Beyerdynamic MMX300 worth 300 euro's with crazy good mic, driven by Asus Xonar STX soundcard, and this mic is just as good as the MMX300's hooked up to the same soundcard. This setup in this video is a great setup for fps gaming and any other gaming genre, and cheap.

  • Hmmm.. I use the Fidelio with Dolby Atmos (not even necessary) and predominantly play FPS games and they are amazing for positional audio. Not sure what setup you're running, but they're better than any other set I've used this far. If you're on Xbox, you can actually set up three custom EQ's to use for gaming with Atmos inside the Dolby Access app. Not completely necessary, but you can always give a little nudge to the footstep range for FPS games (typically between 100Hz-300Hz & 2kHz-5kHz) and do a little testing of what sounds good for you in particular. That's what it's there for. Also, I don't know what you're comparing the V Moda mic to, but it's easily as good as any other top gaming headset mic that I've heard and better than most. The only gaming headset mic I've ever heard that was convincingly better than the V Moda was the wideband mic on the 2023 version of the Blackshark V2 Pro. Aside from that, it's about even with any top gaming headset mic. For $15 right now, that's an absolute steal. Also, do not get the new version of the V Moda if you see this and think about getting one. The new version is absolutely worse. Don't know how they managed to pull that off, but they did unfortunately. Regardless, I've never heard anything but compliments about the voice quality from the original V Moda considering it's not a $150 standalone desktop mic.

  • Great video! I just have one thing to note: You can pretty much eliminate background noise with RTX Voice. I use it with my current setup (XM3+Boom Pro) and my mates say it sounds amazing over discord. Just something to note for PC users as this obviously wouldn't be the case if you were to use the mic for console gaming

  • To all my gamers out there if you want a whole new world you should go for these headphones with a soundblaster G6 or whatever and a boom microphone and you got the best gaming headset you going to get tbh. I have tryed every expensive gaming headset out there and this is a whole new world, and if you into some music as well you are going to hear some new sounds in like every favourite song you have heard 100 times already, try them if you can and buy them, best shit I've done according to sound. • I'm gonna point out. Virtual surround doesn't make vertical audio better. What does is the game's sound design. Stereo is the purest and best audio for the best IN GAME tuned sound.

    @tigerleon10@tigerleon103 жыл бұрын
    • I keep hearing that virtual surround sound technology isn't any good, but all people say is how it isn't "pure", that it doesn't really stimulate true surround sound. But that's only hearsay. I'll still try a pair of virtual surround headphone given the chance

  • im sorry but this is probably the worst review ive seen in my life. so many errors, its pretty obvious youre just not enough into tech, or at least not into this kind of tech. this is, by FAR, the best headset mic on the market, together with the modmic 5, and youre spewing something about that "your friends will get annoyed on discord" im on discord since discord was released and talked to hundreds of people and every single one of them had a WAY worse mic quality and no one ever got annoyed with them. also 7.1 is a bs marketing gimmick, stereo is far superior, yes, even for gaming. no you cant only hear if theres an enemy to the left or to the right, you definitely dont know how spacial audio in games works, you can perfectly hear any direction games throw at you with a decent stereo headset, especially if its an open back design with a wide sound stage. you need to take this offline, its plain misinformation.
