There have been some strange disappearances in Honeywood and it is up to our heroes to try and figure them out.

I am still impressed by the fact that the group as a whole have such an array of accents at their disposal. The DM in particular seems to have most of the world in his repertoire.
He's brilliant
@@azrani2023he really is.
@@thicniggazinc oh my, so glad to know someone else is still watching their older adventures these days!! love it!
@azrani2023 yes! This is the only KZhead channel I need ahah.
@@thicniggazinc Right?? Me too, only this one and one other. The rest of the internet is never as funny and wholesome as that.
Watching you play D&D is like having real friends.
I saw this comment and immediately liked it, only to notice that it's mine.
You made me get 2 x the lolz....
@@justvid366 I relate
Glad for channels like this b/c frankly lots of people don't really know how to play, people really get lost in their characters or spend a lot of time entertaining technicalities. Unless everyone is an old veteran I think the best approach is similar to how the viva crew here does it. I believe the best way to play(particularly for the less experienced or strangers) is as simple as understanding that we all make the story together(not just dm). Dnd is simply a neutral way to express yourself so even your antisocial it provides venues to developer your communication. If you are older getting a group is as easy as posting pamflets on college campus in semi secluded science areas. Of course events at game shops are an option as well but they tend to be streamlined, crowded, and possibly even competitive. Though they do favor a younger crowd, they also tend to be more time consuming because it takes longer to hit it off with individuals due to the reality that expressing yourself in such a public environment is simply more difficult. A room full of people talking over each-other often with different games running at once is just not ideal! It makes it hard to form connection outside game especially since many players already have groups of their own. Even if you are social most attendees probably aren't. Since dnd is ultimately just a way to form close friendship often with unlikely people the reason I recommend pamphlets in college is partly because you have intellectuals of varying ages(anywhere from freshies to grads to professors even). You can be an older garbage man, and end up playing with a bio professor, a foreign grad student from eastern Europe, a shy security guard, utility worker, or 60 yo janitor from Columbia! The reason you want to use pamphlets is because pamphlets will generally attract people who ARE ACTUALLY LOOKING. Leave it tactile with email contact tear offs, so as people rip them off you can gauge interest because people don't always respond immediately. Resist temptation to make it easy by avoiding posting online as this tends to attract trolls and noncommittals. While the group forms update those who have contacted you weekly with brief email about groups progress. Keep tabs on everyones availabilities so you can be sure to start as soon as group forms since availability varies. Say you get a couple people in month one, still update them briefly if not to prevent people from losing interest at least to make sure everyones schedule lines up when you finally have group. This also keeps it local and this will help avoid future interruptions as people find difficulty with long commutes . Otherwise avoid game shops or established communities(unless you are young with no school friend or you live in a small town). you too can find a fantastic crew like this! Just be patient. Once formed don't hesitate to invite them to your home, since everyone is stranger its unlikely anyone person will be on bs. Keep it chill and low key focusing mainly on getting to know the players. I suggest the first session be just character creation and be quick. People can introduce and orient themselves then gauge their playstyle then have a week or so to think about how they will play together before the first real game session. Second session keep light too since people dont always hit it off and if you get the sense there is chemistry lacking you can always adjust the group before the experience is jeopardized. Take it slow and think about the story you will make for them. The following sessions increasing in length but don't marathon until you get a lot of chemistry and the players are basically now doing the checking in and showing excitement for next session. Don't be afraid to let go folks that are noncommittal and keep the flyers up threw out this initial stage ensuring you have a backup or a more the merrier situation so that if someone is particularly disruptive or just an exceptional downer or turns out to be busier than they thought you can still keep things neutral and keep it moving all the while. This will take time but you can surprise yourself with a lifetime group of friend within a good year!
I can't imagine what that's like. I have literally one friend. Any other applicants?
This DM is an AMAZING actor. Im getting chills
Thanks!
Damn that DM can do amazing reading. Storytelling is immaculate, he also adapted really quickly. For example when he clearly meant the sorcerer to take the teleporter but he went for the "You draw on the last lingering energy from your staff to portal away" to adapt to the choice of his player.
When Ben first found the webbed footprints, I was thinking maybe it was the goose that the muggers tried to mug a while back...
Same! I thought revenge. Then I also thought maybe the fisherman has webbed feet, but he has less of a motive than that goose.
8:19 - And the DM doesn't even try to quote the line. That's respect right there. And a nice day for fishing.
one thing that Greg and Bodger can agree on: hating Baradun
Another thing Greg and Bodger agree on: Eating Badger was the best thing they could have done.
One thing Greg, Bodger, and Baradun can agree on: "Sorry about your loss; can we go home?"
I knew these guys were talented, but I wasn't expecting the DM to be so great at acting too. Also, the sound effects really help set the scene.
I bet Balin is actually just the Groot of Azerim. He's all like "Mornin' Nice day for fishin, innit?" and Greg's just like "Yes Balin, The watcher really is kind of an asshole. coming into my house everymoning!"
After Baelin’s Route, it is official that his lines have a deeper meaning which only some NPCs can understand.
@@tevildo9383 I loved that short movie 😂 especially that long take where Baelin fights the Orks.
Loved the story. Pretty intelligent way to transform an op wizard into a level 1.
Thank you! I was pretty proud of it; gives a good, in-story reason for him to not be OP compared to the rest of the party, and introduces a powerful BBEG!
@@RobertHartleyGM Hi Rob! Just wanna let you know that there're not many villains out there have this accent that so posh and exquisite😉It's an ingenious work you've done!
@@RobertHartleyGM Hey Rob! Just wanted to tell you, due SOLELY to me watching these interactions you have had with VLDL and being DM, I have decided to make a D&D character :-D I know not every DM will be as enthusiastic and immersed as you are, but I can dream :-) I hope I can find a good place to play. I am 100% brand new to the game, but SO excited to learn how to play.... Any suggestions on ways to find a good group? (and if there's a way to do it online, cause I highly doubt there's any physical games going on in my area)... Any help is MUCH appreciated!
@@RobertHartleyGM Good thing he wasn't clever enough to mage hand the glass orb over. Or perhaps this was an Unskippable Cutscene. ;)
@@JDub-TV Yeah! I woulda had to find a way to mess with him.
Great episode. I'm so in love with the good quality cut ins of you all in costume. Really unique and add so much to the game
Do you work with Viva La Dirt League?
@@forsakenemperor3274 yeah. Sometimes
Allright, it's official: Goodbye Netflix, I'M BINGING THIS!!!1!
Pretty epic start, good way to transform powerful PC to lower-level if he is super OP in the backstory. (if the player goes with it)
That was genius. Baradun was game changer strong last time so this was great.
@@versuzzero5335 yup, and now he has motivation/goal to regain his powers or maybe some other character arc, like learning to cope with it and work together.
This is so hype
Gonna be hard to convince Baradun to work together though 😂😂
Viva La Dirt League D&D I love the shaming :] It just feels so... justified :D
When you get 2 natural 20's in a row but one is for 'Can i Swim?' and the other is with disadvantage 😂 Painful to see that
It hurt to roll it 😢😢😢
I wonder if this channel knows the people who own Viva La Dirt League

Ay my first ♥️ Thanks.
Who's Viva La Dirt League?
@@mightymouse5930 You're looking at them.
Lol they are vldl
Haha classic D&D. DM has everyone roll intiative and says, "This is not necessarily combat" *wink*. First player turn, "I'm gonna shocking grasp him!".
Zack Garrett I am laughing to hard mate
_I want to cast Magic Missles… at the Darkness!_
24 minutes is so short! It felt like it barely got started then it was over
I liked the shorter commitment than most D&D videos but yeah, it feels a bit clipped.
It wouldn't be so bad if it was two episodes a week, but half an hour is too short for once a week. I want more. lol
Quality>Quantity
Yep, way too short. It was annoying..
@@Erizedd not even half an hour, only 24 minutes! of which about 5 is a recap and a 'please subscribe' part
Huge props for making those clips to show what the turn looks like and illustrating the dialogue looks in character. This must take so much work and it really pays off this is so much fun
I feel sorry for Baradun, first of all reduced to level one, then captured with one of those circular plastic things left behind on a bottle when you break the seal and remove the lid.
No, that's definitely an expensive, purpose made ring to use for such occassions in D&D and not just bottle rings saved up by a frugal DM...
I've always wanted to play D&D, but none of my friends are into it. Its nice to watch a game with 4 of my favorite characters. Love it guys!
I always love it when players start playing with multiple characters and have a little dialogue between themselves XD
Baelin hooks a tentacle, suddenly Cthulu rises out of the pond. Make a sanity check.
Honeywood sounds like an awesome place to start your adventure from. A place where people meet with many and where things begin. I’d love to see it in a game or something.
Id buy that game (on a steep Steam discount of course)
Hmm shouldn't Baelin have also rolled initiative? I'm sure he would have saved them all, lake creatures are his favored enemy ;)
This deserves more likes.
4:25 "The THOT plickens" Xd
DM's voice talent is taking me deep into this. I honestly did not expect this. Totally love it
Im absolutely addicted to this series. Its amazing. Keep up the amazing work, can't wait for the next episodes! You lads are class!
How is it that both the people who are muggers are playing this game, and yet after finding webbed foot tracks, they didn't first assume that it was another goose that mugged them them of all their possessions?!?! HE. JUST. MUGGED US!
I have to admit, I was really hoping the gold had been stolen by local waterfowl.
The Closed Caption is absolutely amazing.
Thanks ;)
Ben's shrug 😂
This campaign should be d&d book cause I would love to play this
That would be our dream one day!
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD Hopefully they find this and add it in.
6:44 "And I jump out the window to my death" Wow that was some distant foreshadowing eh? Lol. Anyone else rewatching these from the beginning?
👌
I am starting to rewatch as of today and thought the same haha! 😂
My first thought.
Adam shouting unlimited power was hilarious!
I never played DnD but it looks so fun maybe should give it ago sometime in the future! Honeywood best town 😊
Go to your local game store (not gamestop) on weekends usually you can find people playing and most veteran players love helping noobies out. Don't buy any books until you are sure this is something you wanna do
would wholeheartedly recommend there is a great site called dndbeyond which is really helpful for beginner players as it handles a ton of the more complex parts of character creation
The problem is i dont have a local game store and the closest one is about 2 hours or so away by car. Well i will keep watching these videos cause they are fun ^^
Honeywood for life!
@@LunarStudios Awww.... that's unfortunate.
Was thinking about how Rowan seemed unusually calm this time before recalling he was sick the last time and essentially high the entire game
14:20 - Trying to get my head around the physics of fishing up a blacksmith's mallet, which has no holes for the hook to catch onto, and no surfaces rough enough for the line to get tangled to. Presumably one of the Murnian(*) thieves threw it to Bailin. (* Half Murloc, Half Argonian: a race known to exist on Azerim, but not on Skyroth, of course).
maybe the hook wrapped all the way around the handle, just under the head and caught onto itself. That sorta thing happens all the time in fishing. A fisherman told me so...
@@RobertHartleyGM Hu ha.
@@leefisher6366 Haven't you ever seen Indiana Jones wrap a whip around a rafter and swing on it? It's the same thing Baelin did with the fishing line.
the mallet handle is probably made of animal skin and the fishing hook can actually hooked on that part of the hammer.
@@quirk8841 It's also how many grappling hooks work
I cracked up when Adam cast shocking touch and shouted “unlimited powwa!”
I have never played D&D, though Ive always wanted to. But now I think Robert has ruined me with his awesome DM skills. He has set the standard for me, all DMs should be like this. His story telling is awesome. Love how epic it was when he stripped Baradun of his powers! Totally in awe! And he is soooo handsome!
Omg the b roll this episode is even better than last time somehow, you guys have the most approachable d&d campaign start I've ever seen
Can't wait for Greg to kick a random object just for it to come alive and be an OP companion.
Bringing the world of Azerim to DnD, it is always enjoyable to see how someones creation is brought to life. Keep it up VLDL, I will always take the time to watch!
Okay, but did anyone else notice the way Bodger's actor was completely out of it and still managed to say his line on autopilot? that was hilarious.
I actually enjoy this being short because if for any reason i miss a few episodes i can get quickly up to date and not having to spend half a day watching four people sitting on a table
I am loving this series. New binge watch
You know it a fun show when it feels like a quick minute
Another cliffhanger? What are you doing to us?! I was so happy to get the notification. Too bad I was at work so I had to wait. Another amazing episode in which time flew by much too fast. You came up with a very cool way to get Baradoon down to level 1. I loved that! I can't wait to see more and I hope that whatever happens in here has some sort of impact on your future sketches. Thanks, guys!
So i can not give enough props to the dm he has killed it in all the dnd episodes
Just to be clear , I haven't played d&d since I moved away from Michigan 11 years ago. Who knows when I'll have a chance to play ever again. Thank you for letting me watch you play.
Also an expatriate Detroiter. Cheers from Baltimore.
I prefer this real life version above the computer/isolation version. It is more vivid and easier to follow, thanks to the subtitles (as a non-native English speaker it can be quite difficult to understand what you guys say).
Especially when they yell over each other 🤣
google translate,for dummies.
I found the isolation version quite difficult to follow because of the 2h+ episodes
I never thought I would enjoy watching nerds play D&D. That thought was a crit fail. This series is fantastic
Rewatching the series and only noticing MASTER PADRAIC NOW!
Might be my first comment on a video ever ... Low key . Genius DM ...! Simple and beautifully done The villain got introduced and got his evil speech 32 minutes in .! All of it made sense and happened organically aswell as was the first lesson into not underestimating the plot I've DM'ed weekly for over 4 years and none of my villain got even close to the effectiveness and simpleness of this villain . I dare say he did much better than I ever did and casually took him 35 minutes to do when it would take me several games at the very least .
Thanks! There's definitely something to be said for a game with a time limit and an audience! Puts the pressure on to tell the story in a way I might not otherwise. (I have BBEG in my home games that I have barely given 'screen' time to in 4 years!)
Yep, this episode confirms this is going to be yet another amazing adventure from VLDL. Thank you for making us so much content to enjoy!
Robert makes the best stories. I can never find a good one for adventures.
It's been years since I played dnd....this is going to be a great game Loved it
This is so entertaining that even my dog whatches with me!
Baelin throwing the hammer at Bodger and him catching it easily turned out to be quite the foreshadowing :p
Love it! A big fan of the 20 odd minute episodes. Still the only D&D series I can watch as the quality is out of this world. Not only do you guys act it out in separate segments but during the actual game you can hear sound effects etc. I look forward to the next one!
The DM is AMAZING!!!
Thanks!
2:00 Ben's face through all this haha, he's a great actor and you could tell even he was like, Damn. lol
Now I want a scene of Bodger and Baelin as drinking buddies.
Brilliant start! Bringing the sorcerer back down to level one in this way is genius.
The Epic Quest of Honeywood. Once quaint little town of the kingdom that no one even heard of. Except for the tax collector. It turns into a hotbed of activity for new adventures.
I would have loved to see Ben as the Mugger, but still a 10/10 video - Keep 'em comming :D
As a former roll player...I do enjoy a lot of this videos .... So funny ... Hahaha and the cut scenes .... Great job guys ...hahaha
I wish i wud have grown up or even still had a group of friends to share my inner nerd with. Thanks for this series. Only ever play d and d once and it was a great time.
I'm totally new to the D&D world, but I deeply enjoy these videos! Again, thanks for putting so much effort in these, and thanks to Rob for being a great DM!
Just what I need before my shift. Wish I could just "Portal away" loving the series so far. Shame can't binge it.
And when boss starts to get to close "Shade away"
Gary, just ignore the series for a few years. THEN you can binge it!
Just use "Portal away!" when you get off work =)
God damn - these cliffhangers! I wanna know what happens next! Kudos VLDL team - you guys have managed to create yet another awesome and hilarious series - I'm totally hooked and can't wait 'til next week!
15:24 Alan: He wouldn't notice that 😂 This got me😂😂
I thought Baradun was going to start crying like Eugene when he couldn't "Portal Away".....almost tying the characters together as rumored Very Distant Cousins. I'm sure I speak for all when I say ...Thank you for all of the great content you post on all platforms.....Also Thank you for allowing us to share in the interesting, and lets say, some what colorful things that are rattling around your brains. LOL Keep up the great work.
We need a Eugene-Baradun moment like the Baelin-Bodger moment. That would be hilarious!
my flatmate got me into dnd, we've been playing the same campaign for 4 years now!
I'm never going to say I dislike Epic NPC man or Epic NPC man DnD. I absolutely looooove it! I want more. I probably always will to be honest. I'm only disappointed that it cut so short right when the action was happening! Gah! I so wanted to see the combat (or negotiation or whatever) portion of it. Alas I must wait. Wait I will, but I wished to see more lol. Love you guys. You picked one heck of an awesome DM too btw. I sincerely wish I could play DnD with you guys sometime. I wish you all the love in the world, and also Godspeed for I must see more. Never cut the b.s. among the guys (it's a huge part of the fun) and bless your DM for his creativity and his strong knack for keeping you all on track as well.
I freaking love the format of these episodes!
Absolutely love these campaigns and really makes me want to get a group together like this to play! Thanks for keeping the laughs coming! You guys rock!
Seriously the best, I appreciate they are a shorter watch time. I miss my gaming crew, this is a salve for not having the ability to game in this season of my life. My whole family is into NPC man videos, I love these as well.

I've been watching npc man for quite a while and I've got to say I really enjoy this new type of video. Hope it works for you guys and will keep going :) Thank you!!
"Comeuppance". All I could think of during first 5 mins. Nicely done thoughout, guys.
Back drop is amazing as usual. I wished I had dnd sessions like this. MOAR!
I dawns on me after re-watching this that Baradun was *also* soaking wet when he applied Shocking Grasp to the Frogman. I'm imagining him like "Tank it! Tank it!", building up that mental fortitude and concentration he'll need later to hold his spells while taking massive damage.
Amazing work as always! So many highlights and it’s only two episodes in!
"WIND STORM!" really got me giggling.
Little did we know what Ben would foreshadow, speaking of Baradun's escape
I didn't think I would enjoy watching people play D&D, but I'm finding these shockingly entertaining.
I've been enjoying the D&D games they've been doing for a few years on outsidexbox and outside-xtra's channels. They've got some pretty funny characters in that. =)
THIS. IS. AMAZING. O.O Episode 3 can't come fast enough!
Happy see more D&D from you guys. This will save my week. Love you guys. This week so far have been nothing more then bad.
This is awesome! Really good dynamic! I'm getting ready to run my first adventure as a DM, and this really motivates me. Looking forward for more.
Loving the editing on this guys!
Need more!!!24 minutes is not enough
Guys AMAZING so far, I've been wanting to get into D&D and this has seriously pushed me to finally take the plunge 😂
Baelin just has a particularly strange case of Broca's aphasia.
So, i randomly found your baldurs gate campaign, thought to me like 'neat, 8 Episodes of 20 minutes and a grand finale wich is 40 minutes, perfect for the rest of the evening!'. And than i figured out you have a god damn D&D channel with another campaign with a total of 44 episodes, almost half an hour per episodes, and now i'm like 'ah f*ck it, i didn't want to sleep this weeknd anyway'. Great work so far, cant wait to see how this campaign is going!
“Flies!” XD
We need more of this! It's so good!
This episode has so much foreshadowing for future episodes. Like baraduns hammer. Ben and Windows 😂
Not being able to binge this is a good thing. Keeps me excited for next week!
