TEXAS TRAVEL WEATHER. El Paso. Juarez HDT: Mud, Wind, Dust storms, Detours. Fulltime RV Lifestyle.

We had fun in Mexico but it's time to turn our heads East and make our way to Hot Springs, Arkansas to see (hopefully) the eclipse. It will take us a few days since we have to drive 1,250 miles to get there...but the weather and roads will not cooperate as we hit dust storms, mud, rain and detours with construction a plenty!
Detours, road closures, dust storms, big MPH winds, tight parking lots to exit and a busy town square. Wow! And that's just the first few days! I get a two-fer with an overnight and a propane fill! Do we need Matt's Off Road Recovery after the rain?
I think we'll make it...maybe...but it's definitely muddy.
And we spring a leak! Fuel? Oil? Water? I've got to check it out! Always a crazy site as you drive through El Paso to see Juarez, Mexico on the other side!
Who knew that we could overnight in a church, a park, near a Whataburger and Tractor Supply? But you have to ask!
West Texas has oil but Wind Turbines pass us on the highway? They were rolling!
We overnight in all kinds of places on this trip to keep it interesting and change it up. We utilize Harvest Host, city parks (Campendium), Tractor Supply (me) and Walmart for shopping...and since it's our 5th time here, we know Whataburger is waiting.
We are heading full steam ahead to the East Coast. Let our Summer of 2024 "officially" start as we turn the rig East. But first, it's a stop in Arkansas for the 2024 Totality Eclipse event.
We are not Snow Birds but we do like nice warm weather and heading west is the best in the winter but now that Spring has sprung, it's safe to venture East again and into the humid regions of the South. The long term plan is to get to Savannah, Georgia.

RV Camping
We like to "Switch it Up" between resorts and campgrounds and boondocking is always an option.
We draw inspiration from Keep Your Daydream KYD, Less Junk More Journey, Finding Our Someday and Changing Lanes. We normally travel in an HDT similar to KZhead channels Suite Travels, Switch it Up and Watts on Wheels. I also get some ideas from the editing style of Happily Ever Hanks (Happilyeverhanks) #thankshanks and believe it or not, I actually learned something from MRBeast Mr Beast video's as well.
Our journey is the destination. We want to share in our experiences in our discovery of What's Next.
I get my music from:
Epidemicsound.com
Tracks:
Not a Day Gone by by Briar Edwards
Your broken Promise by Anna Landstrom
Amazon Shop (no extra charge to you)
A convenient way to see (or buy) the items you see in the video's which may help in your adventure.

We use the TSD card for diesel fuel and save a bundle each time we fill up our Big Rig. We also use it to fill up our Onan generator.
The big blue boards (XL version) we use sometimes to get us "un-stuck" is from:
Gotreads.com
Our Class C is built by Thor Motorcoach on a Ford F550 chassis. It's a production build Magnitude model XG32. We tow our red Jeep Wrangler Sahara behind it. We've made some modifications to it so that we can boondock comfortably. Lithium batteries, Victron 3000w multi-plus inverter, dual alternators charge while traveling and mods to the water system greatly enhance it's boondocking capabilities.
Our extreme completely custom 5th wheel is built on a semi-trailer chassis with air suspension and air brakes. Completely loaded it weighs 42,000 lbs rolling down the highway. And we do roll down the highway nearly every week. You see, we believe that if your home has wheels they should be used.
Vehicles:
2016 Volvo VNL780 "Voyager"
2016 Smart fortwo "Pathfinder"
2019 SpaceCraft Custom built semi-trailer 5th wheel "Orion"
2023 Thor Magnitude XG32 Class C "Curiosity"
2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara "Artemis"
Power system:
3250 watts of solar with Panasonic panels
30.1 KWH of Lithium batteries
2- 4K watt Magnum Inverters deliver power as if we are on shore power
2- 4K watt 240v Cotek Inverters deliver additional power for our LG Mini split HVAC and stove
Coachnet is our roadside assistance company we use but hopefully we don't use them too often. LOL
We are not sponsored by Whataburger but I do enjoy them anytime I can get my hands on one. They used to be just out of Texas but they have expanded.

  • Being from West Texas, i can help you with the white pickup enigma. It gets very hot in the summer time. A white pickup is not as hot in the extreme heat. Also a lot of the big oil companies buy fleets of pick ups. Usually all in one color, white.

    • Thanks, Debbie. We figured that was the reason but it's just so weird to see SOOO many in the area. But it makes sense since it's all about the oil in West Texas. Appreciate your comment and clarifying that for us.

We are so pleased to see your channel grow so much since we started watching you all the way from Tasmania before your Alaskan travels. • I love all the wildflower footage. "He who has a watch knows the time, but he who has two watches, does not know the time." Having two GPS devices can be just as confusing. We can't always trust our GPS either. We've been in that area of Texas. When I saw Wills Point, I knew where you were. We stayed in the Thousand Trails park in Lake Tawakoni. It's really pretty there, but we have a membership, so it doesn't cost us anything nightly to stay. I enjoy your videos. Congratulations on your milestone for subscribers!

  • I'm a trucker, and I've spent most of the last decade based in central Texas. I have a few observations: The area of I-20 in western Texas where the oil fields are is the Permian Basin. And yes, white trucks are prevalent; they stay cooler in the Texas sun. I-20, exit 301 (in Clyde, TX) has a Whataburger... WITH TRUCK PARKING! I've eaten at that Whataburger you showed in Weatherford... at 3 AM, when there's room to get a rig into the shopping center parking lot. If you're looking to head east on I-30 from I-20, the best bet is to stay on I-20 through the Metroplex (DFW) past I-45, then take I-635 up to I-30. This will bypass a WHOLE LOT of traffic. That said, unless you're rolling through between 1AM-5AM, you're going to hit traffic. And I must say that I love your VNL 780.

  • I watch religiously. Something that bothered me was a video a month ago when you got the truck stuck in a soft spot. He got so irritated and yelled. She was yelled at and i coukd see she was super uncomfortable. I totally get we are all human and sh*t goes bad. I've seen sooo many videos and I love watching you both and honestly, I love the way his kindness is and the way he talks. I'm 48 and y'all seen like mom and dad and that comfort, I guess. So when he snapped off, it really threw me back. Every video I've watched since then, I think of that. I think to myself, "Is that him?", but I see him in all the other videos. U both seen like so chill and just easy going and thats what drew me to your channel and why I kept watching. So when I seen him snap off, I think it was just so unexpected and I seen some other side of someone i didn't expect. I wanted to ground him and make him stand in the corner (lololol). I just had to finally get that off my chest. Don't block me, because I do enjoy watching and I envy the life you both have. It's a life I can only hope to have because well....I'm just a waste of space. I'm no person to ever judge - more so on edge with life and maybe because of how life has treated me. You both have brought positive in my brain. I'll be here as long as you are and as long as you'll have me. I don't know what y'all used to do for work, but its gotta be expensive to travel like u do. One day I want that. Xo ~Brooklyn

  • Congratulations on 42K subscribers! Boy this video is certainly relatable between the "I think we have enough fuel", "which route do we take" (as we are coming up to the deciding fork in the road), "how are we gonna get outa here" and of course the battling GPS! Makes the journey that much more of an adventure!
