Taking “patch note reading for a living” to another level
Wait until this guy discovers Purge
Then just to forget 80% of them 3 days later
True
that is just dead game
You missed one important point. The time when you where able to talk to the enemys in the halftime. Miss the good old times
ah yes, the freezetime ear rape
I want this back
Hahaha yeah that one right. Valve removed the fun. Old comp was really fun.
we need this back
Ah yes, those times were quite toxic, but i have awesome memorys about this feature. Would be nice if they added a settings option for it.
"how to make the csgo community feel old in 14 minutes" is another title option
Even those who weren't born when the game came out, hahaha
Dude this was a trip for me personally because I played heavily from early 2014 to late 2016 and stopped, before coming back during covid and playing thousands more hours still to this day. I had no idea what order all the stuff in between was added and it was kinda mind-blowing!
*me playing cs since 1999* bruh stop.
@@RaimaNd me since 2004. was so much fun to troll with shield ^^ night vision was a nice thing too ^^ I’m missing the good old LAN-Party’s ^^
@@TheRealNicolai Oh gosh I hate the shield. xD But the nightvision was cool and I loved spamming "E" for the "duh duh" sound. :D And yeah, at least one or two times a month at LAN parties, no matter if just 4 people or 100. loved it. I miss it so much. :'(
Gloves have been in the game for longer than they haven't. THAT is insane to me.
ikr, I thought they were added like maybe 2 years ago
WHAT
That can't be true right
I refuse to believe this
Played since the beginning and I still don't have a glove skin
this video is basically the enbodiment of "gods im so old that was x years ago?"
god* but yea.
for real... its insane to think this game came out in 2012
@@selectionn yet I bet 80% of the player base started playing since the game went free 2 play.
@Balkan Ball you're right. It's just very cringe worthy
@@Jasmine_06 not rlly
oh boi the panorama update is like yesterday
It drastically changed the game. Such an impactful update that not everyone accepted, yet as the time went on, everyone got used to it.
still wish there was a setting to turn on scaleform for nostalgias sake
The version of scaleform before it is still much better than what we have now
@@wnyduchess wtf? panorama is a million times better than shitty scaleform
@@LummyTum thats just your preference, I think old school scaleform is better.
i cant believe its been 6 years since i last played and yet i still watch all your cs videos the longer i watch this this more nostalgic it gets, getting home from school and rushing to my computer to try and fight my way out of silver. man im gettin old
Play CS again. Feel how it's changed, how it's evolved
@@Tze52 i don’t play multiplayer games anymore cos i don’t have the time to be good at them ahaha
Cheers
@@TheSuicidalCake Thats what Silver is for xd
"for players who want the pain of matchmaking but without the chance of ranking up" this one made me laugh
I have a hard time grasping Bloodhound was 6 years ago, i only started playing early 2018, but vividly remember coming home from elementary one day and watching Rubius open Bloodhound cases
Wait, 6 years old? Holy sh- time really flies by doesn't it?
I joined rigth before Arms Deal update. And completely forgot about one flash limit, damm that was a long time ago.
-reads bloodhound - thinks of apex legends
I did get to play CSGO before but I actually bought it and started playing when the Operation Bloodhound began. It doesn't feel that long even though 6 years already went by.
It really is hard to believe, the same for the cache update
20+ years ago somebody said "go go go" and millions still going.
Im laughing... in nostalgia
Phillip pushing those videos out like its december :D
It *is* December. The Calendar-Industrial Complex is tricking you by sending signals up your nose! Woooweeeewooooo *tinfoil-clads my nose*

You played CS That's something I would be proud of Among gamers at least I'm still in school so I have my chance
@@sannidhyabalkote9536 I played cs poorly. Have been playing since the operation pheonix update and I still suck. And my life has only gone downwards till then. Don't be like me, study harder bro.

yeah! like what the hell!?!?
Damn congrats on 1 mil. Can't wait to see some more squares.
Its mind blowing to me how the negev change was 4 years ago
Yay phil is regularly getting sponsors now
not at all dissing, but its so strange reading this so shortly after watching everyone has their price
He deserves it
I dont think that thats a bad thing.
@@xboi3607 you are a good man i respect you
if he is promoting skillshare, nordvpn, brilliant etc its perfectly okay, skin trading sites pay a lot lot more but our man has his ethics, he gets money, we get discounts for useful stuff, win-win
I didn't realise the P250 hasn't been able to one tap for 4 years... I thought my aim just got worse. This makes me feel a bit better. thank you philip
Now I feel old, I better rewatch Philip's existential playlist.
I started playing in the middle of operation Hydra and shortly before Dust and Aztec were removed. Still feels like last year.
me too
Those 5-6 years ago updates feel a lot more recent than that...
Cant believe theres no mention of how they removed hearing enemy team at half time an after game :P
thanks for remembering me that in some time ago there was shadow detail low now im crying
I can't believe 2015 was the year the timeout was introduced to the game. I was in high school and just started playing that school year. It feels like it was JUST introduced. Thank you for the trip down memory lane!
you made a lot of us feel a couple of years older haha
Aw yes. A Descending timeline of no friends to friends before they abandoned me.
yeah as another early adopter of cs:go i can relate, i had mental illnesses (ocd) and my friends intentionally kept triggering it and being dicks about it instead of being understanding you can also say i went from no gf to no gf
I feel for you both. Hope things improve
I kinda liked the muffled sound of casters while watching an official major match in GOTV. It had some vibes around it or something.
I haven't felt this old in a while oh god
Me who joined CS 1 year ago watching the old CS updated: *”What is this place?”*
Same March 20 , 2020 , the day I started playing
@@sannidhyabalkote9536 thats just around the time i started too!:0
You guys missed a lot of the good stuff CSGO went through and through over the years. It's a different game now in 2021.
@@XanderNiles I got a pc at that time , so...
@@XanderNiles i know. I only got my computer in january of 2020 so there was no opportunity for me to get into cs earlier, also I started playing around march of 2020 because i simply didnt have much interest in shooters back then :/
Your timing is always amazing, I was thinking of getting back into the game and haven't watched anything besides your videos on it since I've quit.
Thank you for this! That is so needed!
Do some vids on the 'hidden communities' this game has - trickjumping, zombies and all that stuff. I think they'd be a fun watch. The cheater one and the surf one were really good. Cheers!
HvH community seems more positive than the overall one imo
It is now over 10 years and the game is evolved into a very very good one. Happy to be a part of the drive since the start. Yeah now I feel old too, thank you.
I've just realised I've been subscribed to your channels for over 7 years now.
Thanks for all these videos along the way, time sure does fly :')
Been there from the start, great to look back, I wonder what the next few years will bring. Great video as always!
Damn, i don't remember watching 3kliks around 2016, yet i remember watching his videos on those updates when they're still less than a week old
Hello Philip, thanks for the great content as always
Seeing videos like this is what makes me like games. I love seeing how a game updates overtime and how much it went by, all the life changing updates and minor good updates. Thank you 3kliksphilip
when was the option to rematch removed? I feel like that kinda just disappeared and no one noticed
Hey Philip, congrats on the 1 million subs!
loved this video. next time you should add more clips of what the game looked like in-game for each period. cheers
philip is on fire! all these updates, love it.
Congratulations on 1million subs Philips!!
Damn. This is a great time capsule of CSGO. It's an odd feeling seeing all of these old patchnotes and changes I remember reading so excitedly--I started playing during Vanguard and still do occasionally today. Thanks for the videos 3kliksphilip, I've been watching them since I started playing and the music in your videos combined with memories of playing CSGO with friends after school are things that I imagine will always fondly make me remember being a teenager.
Haha made it early... Love your content! keep it up my man. Informative and really entertaining.
This is interesting, tyanks fir the video again!
don't really even play csgo anymore (tarkov has consumed me) so your videos are all that has kept me up to date since about 2017 or so. this video made me feel old.
love your videos phillip
This is a piece of... history right there. And I'm glad to be commenting on it~!
Man, I remember quitting during Wildfire like it was yesterday. I still was in school back then.
I started college when Wildfire rolled out. It was a great operation. Valve nailed that one.
Good video philip. I luv u
I love the "straight face" he keeps when talking about scrimmage. 🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️
Thank you for making the video 'fast paced'👍
I expected this video to go forward from the game's release to 2021 but this approach is more striking: each time Philip goes back a year, I see myself going back into university, then back into highschool. I remember hearing about the launch of the game and watching early gameplay videos on those days, it was such a big departure for me as a long-time Source player. Then, MOBAs happened. My classmates stopped playing CoD and CS and started playing LoL daily, though I couldn't make that jump. I was too fixated on FPS games back then, I guess. Then, I attended university, and the first friends I made there started attending local LoL tournaments. Dropped off from there, entered another university. There, I found my current CS:GO teammates. Nowadays, we seldom play it but the memories is still here. The enjoyment is sucked out by cheaters and my painfully slow internet access, though. So, we sometimes play survival games together now. This is the memory tunnel Philip sent me in... Days go by so fast. But looking back to 2012, I always get hit by that same feeling of nostalgia. It still feels like those simple, relaxed days were the days when I could do everything, enjoy my life however I like. Wish I could see the future under the same light.
Goddamnit, Philip, I feel old af now. Good video.
loved this video philip but i feel like the most important things you missed were the big batches of weapon sound changes in 2016, including the notorious awp sound change
It’s so crazy to see some of the changes that happened occurred so long ago yet it doesn’t feel like that.
Sheesh thanks for this video Phillip, I last played this game in 2015 :(
When I knew CSGO was coming out in 2012 I got pretty excited. Didn't get to play it until the following year. 2013-2014 was literally me playing the console version and trying out a cracked version of the game if my PC was able to run it. Then in May 2015, when the Operation Bloodhound was released, I bought CSGO at full price and being playing the game ever since. I didn't have enough to time to buy the pass, however. Later, I got to buy the passes for Operation Wildfire and Operation Hydra. Great operations for sure and they were better than the 2 latest operations which I wasn't a fan of and refused to buy those passes. With that out of the way, CSGO has evolved and improved over the years and I'm glad that I'm part of it for the past 6 years and counting. I feel old as well. 😞
Congrats on 1mil!!!
Random question. Who voiced go go go and other radio commands? Other that that always a pleasure to watch your vids. 👍
glad u got ur sponsor ^_^
I like the style of the reverse rewind video - makes it look very chronologically
amazing video
there are so many updates i tought were just a few months ago but actually it was there for years
this video makes me feel old. and i'm 19 years old.
Wait for your existential crisis when turning 30 😄
video day after day what a nice present for start of the may :)
I started playing in 2017, man even the old dust2 feels mega nostalgic now
It's frightening how many of these changes I know about or sound familiar to me, Despite me never even playing casually. It's a bit odd that a game I barely watch or play can occupy so much of my mind. Also I guess that means i've been watching you for Ages. How time flies.
I recalled the defuse wires being added a couple of years ago, but it turned out to be 6, and only one year after I started playing CSGO in 2014.
Oh, it's that time of year again where Phillip reminds me that I stopped playing this game *years* ago but still follow Phillip because he makes such interesting content? Well, that's awesome!
This just shows how long I've been watching your stuff
For Danger Zone, the biggest change to the mode happened on 2019-04-30. This added the respawning mechanic, starting perks, bump mines and Exo-Jump - all of which have become a major part of the Danger Zone meta. It buffed the ammo in almost all weapons (muchly needed) and added Sirocco.
I only started playing deathmatch when the r8 was added, and competitive early 2016 I feel old, but weirdly young, seeing as I only was around for half the game's lifespan. But thinking back, it has changed a lot.
this makes me feel so old. The oldest update I can remember is skins being adding to the game, and that feels like forever ago.
Just started playing CS:GO again after almost 6 years. Thanks.
Very interesting to look back at those years and how the game was changing over the time. I've been playing since late 2013. Thanks for reminding us of all those changes that were affecting us at different points in our lives. I noticed one thing you've missed, graffiti being added. That happened in October 2016.
Congrats for 1 Mil, Ive just seen it today!!
2 videos in a day? Thank you
man seeing updates that i thought were only 2 years ago are actually 4-5 years ago make me feel really old
Was watching some old videos, suprised to see this was an hour ago
What an amazing throwback I personally stopped playing CSGO almost 2 years ago now, the game just didn't feel like it anymore
I feel sooo old wtf it made me realise how much time i've spent on this game
holy shit its been so long since danger zone got released and i still remember vividly how me and my friend were exited for this
This video has succeeded in making me feel old. Bravo🎉 hahaha
I watch my old downloaded pro matches from 2014 from time to time and that caster voice quality really gives it a nostalgic vibe even though I know it didn’t sound that bad outside the game. Side note, when did they stop hosting pro matches for a reasonable amount of time? I already can’t download the most recent major grand finals matches.
Congrats on the sponsorship phil ❤️
You made this video to make me feel old!
This is good to watch for someone who hasn't played since 2018
You should do one or more vids of all the forgotten operation maps that's been. Maybe revisiting some of them will bring them back.
I remember loading up the new dust 2 and getting excited about it.
i think it would be cool to see a video of a timeline of all of csgo biggest updates, such as a1s nerf, dust new, and all that stuff
This is crazy because this game was literally part of my childhood. Each of these events I distinctly remember and can tell you what my life was like at that time based solely on these events. The Boston major was probably like the peak of my csgo involvement
By now, this game is probably older than some of the players. And I love how much it improved. Valve, please don’t fix
quick as heck
I now feel like an immortal being who has lost their track of time after watching this
I remember having the opportunity to playtest CS:GOs Alpha or Beta (?) at the Intel Extreme Masters for CS 1.6 in 2012. Esports back then were often more of a side event like this one at the CeBit in Hannover, Germany. The finals were between NaVi (starix, ceh9, Zeus, Edward, Markeloff) and ESC Gaming (TaZ, Neo, pasha, kuben, Loord). Wow, I think I played CS:GO even before all those Legends got their hands on it! The craziest thing is, I started playing CS in late 1999 / early 2000 which probably is even earlier than Neo & his teammates. Damn, I am old :( ...but at least I remember the feeling of lauching Half-Life just to activate the mod "Counter Strike".
5:59 i was so scared to see it u saved my life!
The change from 45 to 40 second bomb timer feels like it has been changed yesterday xD
oh boy time really flies doesn't it, I still remember getting HS'ed from T spawn to CT side mid by a revolver😭
