  • I played football for Langston University and we had a man who used to play in the marching band back in the 60's but was slipped cocaine laced with something that mentally disabled him. The university took full responsibility and gave him his own apartment on campus he can take any class he wants free food and a stipend, and play with the band during practice and games. I don't think anyone messed with him. He was a great guy.

  • At my high school we had our own radio. Rashad was our equipment manager and everyone one of us on the team looked out for him. He was always the first one to the field house and one of the last to leave. Came with us on the team bus to every single away game. There was no bigger a fan of our team than him. He passed away shortly after we all graduated. Miss that dude. Always had the biggest smile on his face and high fives and helmet pats for everyone. When my depression kicks in every now and then, I just think about how much he helped us succeed and it makes me feel a little better. RIP Rashad, you were 1 of a kind.

  • We had a big black boy just like radio at my school named shaquille he was in high school from like 2011-2017 I remember him being in high school when my sister had graduated and then he was still there til the year after I graduated. They had him his as the water boy of the football team, and he'd show up for all the sports he liked which included basketball and baseball. I was always confused how he stayed in high school so long but they gave him menial task like cleaning and helping the sports teams and apparently they even paid him for cleaning. Eventually he got to be like 25 and got to old to continue being in the school and I don't know what ever happened to him he is still at games but I never see him out town anymore I feel sorry for him not being able to stay in high school forever, because he always led the way for the other kids in special education and they all looked up to shaquille literally and figuratively. He was like 6,6 280 pounds but an extremely gentle person.

  • This is a movie I’m glad I watched at a young age. It’s so easy to treat people that are different badly and be mean to them but I remember watching this movie as a little kid and just feeling sorry for all the bad things that happen to radio but how he keeps staying positive and how everyone eventually grew to love him. I worry that we forget these kinds of things now a days.
