    • Idk it's got it's fair share of acclaim, if you know the band you probably know the song. It's not Wonderwall levels or anything but the most popular song is rarely the bands best. Nirvana is almost solely known for Teen Spirit, Blur for Song 2, and Oasis for Wonderwall. It's just the way it is.

  • Ok, lets get a little deep for a second boys. When you think about it, this is a song of desperation. Noel wrote it from a perspective of a guy (maybe himself) begging a girl to just slide away with him from society. He tells her of the wonders they could experience - chasing the sun and begs 'let me be the one who shines with you'. Noel gets pretty emosional when performing this live, as he knows in all reality, its impossible for them to slide away - it just wont happen. But still he dreams - he pleads, he fucking screams out of desperation ... Slide Away!

  • This is actually a sad song. Gallagher wrote "I wonder where you are now" and also in the lyrics, the girl says "please don't"(please do not talk about the gibberish things like how we are growing old and stuff). Gallagher had a soul deep like an ocean but she did not have the same ability to see the world as Gallagher does, and therefore could not empathize his feelings. To her, all the things Gallagher was talking about seemed somewhat too melodramatic. I believe this lyrics is about Gallagher's visualization of an imaginary world where she becomes fully appreciative of Gallagher's potent so that they can eternally be together and enjoy all the beautiful things out of the fortune that Gallagher has made through his commercial success. But in the real world, she is not there with him. There is only Gallagher singing alone, reminiscing good old days he had with her and the painful moment of separation.
