He's a master manipulator. I think it's his only real talent. During his campaign he said a lot of key words and really tuned into the frequency of the average (WHITE) blue collar folk, especially those who felt disenfranchised, left behind or short changed in some way. He appealed to them, the under-educated who were already disdainful of "high flalutin', smart talking university educated types", who they already felt looked down on them. And HE was going to champion THEM, and make it right!! He didn't, of course. He just used them like pawns, but he'd won their hearts and loyalty. Unfortunately for us all.

9/11 was the deadliest foreign attack ever on American soil and directly influenced the longest war in American history. Way more death and destruction took place on 9/11. It's not fair to compare the two. But I will say, I kind of know what you're talking about. I'm old enough to remember both, and I did get some flashbacks to 9/11 on January 6. It had that kind of feeling, like something sacred got damaged. I don't think we've fully seen the ramifications of the riot and maybe someday it will prove to be a harbinger for something bigger. I was in a training meeting when this happened. I wish I was watching live. I found out by my academic advisor answering a call from his son.
