I found a rat Infested vintage 1948 Ford F5 School Bus Abandoned in the forest for over 25 years! Let's get it running and clean it up, then drive it out and back to the Church it used to reside! This is a compilation of all the videos from over a year period of time. I re-edited them all down into one epic revival video. This was such a great journey and an amazing ending! Must Watch!

  • These old historical relics represent the very best of how America used to be until the build quality went down under. I've always had a much stronger affinity towards the classic and vintage machines that once roamed the roads back when they were in their prime. Bringing the bus back to life was perhaps one of your best life decisions made yet thus far. Mad props for waking up the beast that spent far too long in silence and neglect.

  • This restoration video was incredibly AWESOME. What got me all watery eyes was how that older lady said her dad use to drive the bus and how she recreated the way she would sit right behind him. What an amazing video. The drone shots and the editing with all the great music...... It had me captivated!!!! Never thought I would watch an over 2 hours long video about an old church bus being "resurrected" but here I was and I enjoyed the journey all the way through. Merry Christmas 🎄 y'all!!!!

  • This is one of the most enjoyable videos that I have seen in quite some time. You are really dedicated to do the job the way it is supposed to be done, and you hit it right out of the ballpark . Congratulations and I might add, the coachwork was done by Superior Coachwork in Detroit Michigan after after the rolling chassis was finished. Originally, it was fitted with a cab, and Superior cut the back of the cab off. And they fabricated the bus bodywork to the cab. The rest, is history.

  • Those old ford y blocks were pretty damn tough engines, the only major issues are the upper oiling hole on the cam bearing clogging which starved the rocker shaft and valve train of oil and very skinny pushrods that bend very easily if a valve sticks a bit. As long as a high zinc oil is used, these motors will keep on going. I recommend 10w-40 viscosity especially if the motor is high mileage. I’m working on a 54 ford with a 292 y block in it. Keep the rpms below 4500 and the motor will happily keep going for years. These engines make torque down low like a big block. The valves will need periodic adjustments and oil changes every 3000 miles but otherwise these motors don’t usually need much. Take care of them and they will take care of you.

Kudos to your lovely bride for supporting your efforts, as well as others that have helped. My other fave is Derek Bieri and Vice Grip Garage. I have to say one of my favorite part was near the end when all of a sudden you heard the horn sound and when you focused in on the culprit it was a young boy . I have a 1932 Auburn and one of the things I allow or insist on is that the kids climb in honk the horn and make like your driving her. You did a great thing finding her home and bringing her for a visit. One last thing what a special thing for your brother to do!! What a blessed family you have.

  • Nice job ! Great video ! Great work effort ! My tips: Dip/clean/seal/paint tank (POR-15). Use rot hole for access to upper tank components (build custom door). Maybe install back-up tank for additional (cheap) fuel. Bathtub replace with fiberglas for weight, excellent idea with bed over the top. Change diif, and trans fluid to synthetic (Amsoil). Solar panels, luggage rack, and roof access. Insulate all 6-sides. Wall between drivers area and rear (secondary security to rear area). Replace all bulbs with LED. Repaint all white with black trim (to include ugly green interior). Remove/reseal all windows before painting. Scrub, wire brush entire bottom, then undercoat. Make custom (hollow) bumpers to store sewage and water hoses. Rain catchment from roof with valves (if you have drip rails). I may have missed this (chemical flush of water passages in block)... and to top it off... what all my buddies yell at me.. "turbo and nitros"... LOL !
