  • This has been THE BEST acrobatic flight instruction I've came across. I really did not think there was soo much to the rolling harrier. Going to be a lot of hours in the sim!

  • Thank you SO MUCH! I still cant do it great, but I can get 1-2 in a row before throttling out and at least understand how to do it. Now its just a matter of practice. Thank you so much for how clear you taught this!

  • Michael - if you haven’t already, suggest a “dead cat” fluffy wind/pop shield for you mic. They help quite a bit. Great video series thanks so much.

  • I have my rudder and elevator on the same stick so can do that with one stick while using full aileron on the other stick, I started flying three channel and just got used to having the rudder and elevator on the one stick,works for me, when doing a roll I can do that stirring motion you talked about.like I said works for me.

    • Very interesting and makes sense. Of course most of us would have to relearn how to fly to do it! Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you Michael! You helped me learn this years ago.....along with some sim practice😎

  • I learned to harrier roll with the help of a well setup gyro (aura 8). I found that my workload decreased to get one good harrier roll, then 2 in a row, then three. After some practice, I was able to turn off the gyro and do some “ok” harrier rolls. So a good gyro can be like training wheels. Another trick is to use a simulator, and turn the physics down to half time, so you have more time to think.

  • Why do my wings rock in basic harrier? Any tips please Michael? Should I try to correct just with throttle & rudder or aileron or a bit of both? (Just ordered an Addiction X after watching your excellent videos using same)

    @randallpatrickc@randallpatrickc Жыл бұрын
    • A lot of reasons. What plane are you having trouble with. mostly, it is the airframe. CG causes a bit, but throttle and a lot of elevator cuts it down a bit. Harrier at higher alpha.

    • @@MichaelWargo Thanks Michael - it’s a Twisted Hobbys Veloxity. (42” EPP foamie). Does it in real life but also on my Aerofly Sim (pretty accurate). I haven’t got the Addiction yet but have tried that on the sim too and have the same issues so it is probably me! I’ll try at higher alpha.

  • Great thank you! I've never understood why jamming the throttle back and front is needed. Why not just make a an average? It seems to me like this: pulling the trottle..oh wayt that's to much, I'll just bring it to zero, oh wayt now it drops better push it, oh wait that's to much..etc Why not keep it there, change when needed and work the surfaces? Because throttle and air mass makes tail surfaces to respond so instead of a more continous air flow overt the surfaces from a steady throttle, now you have a lot of tail response, now you don't now you have again a lot...etc how's that make it smooth?

    @Seneslau07@Seneslau072 жыл бұрын
    • I totally get your perspective, and blipping the throttle seems a bit counterintuitive. But I can assure you, there is simply no way to do what you are saying. You don't have to believe me...LOL. But knock yourself out trying, and if you succeed, send me a video! YOu obviously are thinking it through. That is awesome, but I can assure you the more active on the throttle, the better.

  • Whats a good plane for starting to learn acrobatics? Something cheap for learning. What do you think about twisted hobby planes and which one would be a good one? thanks

    • Just about any good foamy... I have been a twisted hobbys team pilot for a long time and have done a bunch of videos for them. They are all good. The Wargo Yak I designed and was sold by hobbyking was great but out of stock, and my Wargo MX2 is available on Hobbyking. It is a very good one.

    • @@MichaelWargo Hi Michael, Didn't know you were so close. I'm actually going to Orlando May 29 but it's a trip to Disney with my son. Maybe i can cut out and go to the field instead, but I'd probably be going to divorce court after I learn to hover. On the Twisted Hobby planes, there are so many options. Would a 32 inch be better than the 48 inch or size is matter of preference. Thanks for your help.
