From the Ain Temouchent province of Algeria to lighting up the stands of east London, Saïd Benrahma talks us through his backstory: his life, his story, his football, in his words.
The Algerian forward made a name for himself at Brentford after joining from Nice back in 2018 but when West Ham came calling he couldn't resist.

    • What were you expecting from a football player who grew up in the banlieue? Molière’s, or Flaubert’s lexicon? This tendency to criticise someone’s language is outdated. We live in a globalised and connected world. Well, the time he was grinding on the pitch, you were grinding on Larousse and Le Robert. You may speak French better that he does, and I doubt that, but you’ll never play football as good and flair as he does. Cheers mate.

  • I like him. He has a good personality. On the pitch he's verfy well-rounded - watch him off the ball. He gives effort all the time. Watch him press, watch him move into open space, he's a complete player. Very happy to have him at West Ham.
