Non-stop 8 Planes take off in around 8 minutes at Mumbai International Airport.
I captured 8 back to back departures in just over 8 minutes time, at Mumbai International Airport. This is the morning rush hour where the ground traffic is at its peak. This is a bit unusual timing, where there were no landings and the Mumbai Atc cleared all 8 planes for departure in over 8 minutes time. The first departure starts after 2:00 min in the video.
Starting with;
SpiceJet Boeing 737 (Flipkart livery), followed by,
IndiGo A320
Air India A321
IndiGo A320
IndiGo A320
Air India A319
Etihad A320
Air Asia A320
Thanks for watching!

Back to Back 8 Planes take off in almost 8 minutes at Mumbai International Airport
As long as the aircraft are of the same wake turbulence class, as are the B737s and A320s here, the tower controller can "shotgun" the departures. 8 planes in 8 minutes is actually quite a leisurely pace. Watch takeoffs in airports like Las Vegas and Boston, and the rate of departures is much, much higher, and its done safely. At New York's LaGuardia (a domestic airport), the departures exceed this rate while airplanes are landing on an intersecting runway. The Mumbai controller does an excellent job of keeping the departures rolling by having one aircraft "Line up and wait" while the preceding aircraft is rolling down the runway. This video also displays the discipline and proficency of the pilots involved. I enjoyed watching this video! I fly the 737 all day, and I still am entertained watching airplanes take off and land! Who isn't?
SpiceJet plane with the Flipkart advertisement on its body looks more like a State Transport Bus than an aeroplane..🤤
🥲😰🤣🤣🤣
Spicejet is a bus anyways. They now switch off the ac, and only turn it on when the plane is airborne. So you've to sit in the heat until then.
Of the whole lot, Most eager and restless : Air Aisa plane Most slow and thoughtful : Etihad plane Most swift and prompt : All Indigo planes
Well said 👌🏻👍🏻
The controllers are doing a great job. Love from Italy 🇮🇹

In all 8 planes.....there are 4 indigo planes ....it shows the reign of indigo in aviation sector
All those folks commenting negatively are so pessimistic...lmao at their comments. If this happens at Heathrow, Ohare, JFK etc airports, then they all applaud but can't tolerate anywhere else that happening. Coordinating back to back 8 flights take off IS really a challenging task, be it in Mumbai or New York or anywhere else. Real beauty is in appreciating goodness/greatness in everything and everywhere. If you can't appreciate, so be it and move on you have no obligation to appreciate and at the same time you have no right as well to criticize anyone or anything unnecessarily and stop posting negative comments and spreading your own negative nature everywhere...these folks are like trying to count bones in a brain which itself shows their utter ignorance. Btw, whether there are 2 runways or 4 runways, no airport authorizes to take off multiple flights simultaneously. Finally, Thanks for posting this video and if it was any where else also, I really appreciate that.
🙄 You missed the point of the comment 🙄 It is nice to know that finally more people are able to fly - travel by air, hood progress 👍
Runways are created by needs, busier the airport = more people flying thus more flight movement thus need for more runways. So simple. 👍😂🙄
@@beejkumar5824 I know that more traffic needs more runways and yes that helps. But, you missed the point, here the point was not abt multiple runways but about coordinating 8 flights take off back to back which is appreciative irrespective of which airport it is. Btw, it doesn't mean that just because if there are more runways, multiple flights are allowed to take off simultaneously...even with multiple runways, no airport authority allows multiple flights take off simultaneously and there is a time delay required.
Usually airports are not ranked by runway count, but it is based on people movement in numbers total of noth domestic and international flights passengers (arriving and departing) in millions. In this case Delhi airport is ranked higher than Mumbai Shavaji airport. No more comments from me on this subject. 🙏
More runways does that all runwayd6are being used. Usually only 2 runways are used, other runways are used only for a specific purpose only (i.e: military - special service, emergency) and for expansion. Most people rate airports based on customer service standard and customer satisfaction (Which is linked based on each individual airline customer service). Customer service is America's BEST EXPORT - GIFT to the WORLD.

Excellent . We hardly get to see such kind of take offs. Thanks to Mumbai and the entire team involved.
Yes ....on Mumbai Airport landing and takeoff occurs on the same runway and while sitting in plane and waiting for takeoff gives you a feeling of busstand where buses are in queue for departure 😁 but hats off to Mumbai ATC that how nicely they manage both the national and international flights on the same runway 👏👏👏

This is why Mumbai airport is ranked as the No1. busiest airport in the world in single runway category.
I am.santosh patel, dgm (ATC) . Did maximum 1 hour movements in Mumbai airport. 54 movements (maximum) in 1 hour
For mumbai airport , one arrival then one departure is best way to smooth handle traffic.
No spacing out to avoid wake turbulence? Or weren't these planes large enough for that to matter?
Ujjjjjj
they were all A320s/B737s, so it doesnt matter as much for them If they were larger 777/787/a350/747/a380 then it would matter more since their engines are way more powerful than the ones on these planes
maybe there was a decent sidewind?
Who's watching this and hasn't flown in a plane yet?
I Appreciate the Camera Man, Who took this Video with busy handling?
I remember minimum interval time is 3 mins under US FAA regulation. Because the turbulence air caused by previous plane is quite unstable after taking off.
Yes. This is right as per Theory of aerodynamics
I seriously thought the thumbnail was a clickbait.

i have recently seen concord crash it was mentioned that gap between flights should minimum be 3 minute to avoid air disturbance.
Yeah but it's still working bcz all the plane's are of same size hence there air disturbing phenomenon won't work at all.
the point is right even though it has nothing to do with the famous Concorde crash that was attributed to a metallic piece that fell off from the previous take off that burst the wheel of the concorde.
Watching even one take off is a genius engineering.... 8 at once is a bonanza
If you're the pilot-in-command in a queue like that, you're under pressure. You don't want to hold the others up so, when it's your turn to go, the temptation is to skimp the checks and get the thing rolling . . .
The aircraft required a shorter takeoff, pilot experience, lighter load or right of takeoff.
Yes this is what we call Mumbai Spirit n a Busiest City whr time n Money is more precious then human life ....Great Skill though 💕 Sky must b looking awesome at this point of time woooow
What about the turbulence left by the previous plane. I mean yeah good thing all of them are similar in size and weight and wing span, but I've heard there needs to be an interval like 2-3 minutes for the vortexes left by wingtips to disappear from the air. If smaller plane hits them, it can loose control in the air.
Ikr! I was wondering that only, where in the world did turbulence go
Wake Turbulence Separation does NOT apply between aircraft of wake category "medium" departing behind each other, it will not affect them in a hazardous way.
Mumbai really needs that second airport

This is a perfect illustration of "efficiency"
Have you ever wondered how Aero planes take off ? Well, they use a principle Bernoulii's principle. The wings of the aeroplanes are constructed in such a way that air can pass through easily. This shape of the wings is called Air foil shape. When aeroplanes travel at high speeds Air passing underneath the wing has less velocity. less velocity means more pressure . The air passing above the wing has high velocity and inversely less pressure . So the pressure difference applies a dynamic lift below the wing ( dynamic lift takes in the low pressure zone beneath the wing ) Causes the aeroplane to rise.
This is a widespread wrong explanation ... Watch this for why it is wrong and what's the correct explanation kzhead.info/sun/qptxerhumKyojY0/bejne.html
Bernoulli's equation can be applied that easily only for confined flows.
