Hiya there, your puppy is adorable! I'm considering getting a pug and I just wondered if you could please tell me, how long did it take you to house train him? How many accidents did he have in the house? And what's the best way to go about house training a pug? Also on an unrelated note, do you know how much difference it makes getting a purebred pug to a cross breed (say x with a french bulldog or a shitzu) for their personalities?
We didn't have many accidents with him as a pup and only took about 2 months for him to be fully house trained, however during this time we were both off work so were with him full time keeping an eye on him, he wasn't ever left alone :) It's hard to say for crossbreeds as it is just a random combination of both personalities, and a pugs personality differs between pugs as well so I couldn't honestly say.
Awh that's awesome. What's the best way to house trained? Luna has gone in the house a few times already, she seems to think her bed s the best potty, lol. She's only toileted outside 3 times so far. I'm having a lot of fun so far with her waking me in the middle of the night whining her head off -_- lol.
Make sure she gets huge celebration when she goes outside and gets a telling off inside, they're quick to begin to understand! They're bladders are weak so they struggle to hold it in even if they know, just let her out every 30 minutes to avoid any accidents!
Great, thank you :D Yes the couple of times she went outside I made a major fuss, lol, and now have treats too so she'll be getting one of those. What do you mean by telling her off? Like, just saying n a stern voice ''Naughty girl!'' or something? The only thing I'm struggling with with taking her out is how long do I stay out with her for for her to ''try''? Because it's SO cold out there and I put her down and she's shivering so much that within like a minute I just pick her up again and bring her back in :/
