In a boxing spectacle dubbed "The Final Chapter", Riddick Bowe and Evander Holyfield squared off for the third and final time on November 4, 1995.
The men went into the bout knowing what it takes to beat the other, and it certainly added to the heat of the finale of this great boxing trilogy.
Is this one of the greatest trilogies in boxing history?

  • What I see in this fight is a small Holyfield trying to chop down a big oak tree. And while doing so Holyfield was unable to damage the oak tree, but was damaging and tiring himself……….and punching himself out. To the point where the oak tree says: “Ok, now it’s my turn.”

    • He wasn’t getting tired of throwing punches. Bowe was a master of imposing his weight and strength on other fighters. He had a heavy jab that felt like a punch when he worked his way in and he was a superb inside fighter who could chop you down with body shots. Bowes heavy jabs and inside work to the body were the difference makers in their first and third fights. Bowe was not in good physical condition in the second fight but that’s his own fault

  • I liked Holyfield in many fights. But not his fights with Tyson. If we’re honest, he never wanted to engage Tyson in the beginning of both fights. Holyfield mostly clinched and held Tyson while Tyson was willing to engage a battle. Then as Tyson wore down spending himself Holyfield started to open up, where as earlier Holyfield was too scared to engage a fresh Tyson. Because of Holyfield being too scared to trade with a fresh Tyson, I don’t give him respect. You see Holyfield engage everyone from the opening bell in all of his fights except Tyson. This tells you how great Tyson was. And no way in the world Holyfield would stand a chance against prime skilled Tyson

  • Its the fight that was totally pointless as they had both won 1 fight a piece. They should have left it at that & Holyfield should never have agreed to it especially knowing he had a dicky heart. His advice from his corner was very poor-he should not have got up close unless he ties Bowe's arms up-which he didn't & Bowe was always able to benefit from fighting up close. Holyfield was only ever going to win by stick & retreat using his jab or combinations if possible. You have to sort out your tactics to suits an opponent before the fight which he seemed to do in the 2nd fight but his tactics seemed all over the place at times. If you're going to go up close even if just for a rest you need to make sure you tie their arms up. Holyfield didn't do that, nor did he even appear to try. Bowe was a coward anyway for not fighting Lennox Lewis.
