To answer Poof’s question, many Wii channels have been discontinued in 2013. This included: Nintendo Channel, News Channel, Forecast Channel, Everybody Votes Channel, and Mii Contest Channel (Check Mii Out Channel), and then Wii Shop Channel ended in 2019.

Good thing I got to play Wii Sports Club online one last time before the shutdown. It’s really sad that both the 3DS and Wii U will be losing the online services tomorrow, April 8th. It was fun while it lasted. Goodbye to the 3DS (2011-2024) and Wii U (2012-2024) online services and the games, Wii Sports Club and the first Splatoon game since both games will be affected by the shutdown. I first started playing WSC online in November 2022 and now, it’s ending. I’m gonna miss playing it this game so much. I know Pretendo is here to replace the Nintendo Network, but it won’t be the same. 😔

Kind of heartbreaking to be honest. I didn't play much online for the Wii U though or 3DS. Still sad to see it go though. I didn't do much online play with the Wii U though because it was my siblings. And I didn't play it much. I played a little bit of smash online but that's pretty much it. Still kind of sad to see it go though. Especially seeing people post on the Miiverse. When my cousin was doing it and everything as well. Now you can't even do anything for Nintendo's newer systems but online communications. Sure they have an app where you can communicate but not as good. Just sad to see it go overall. 🥺

im gonna miss playing online w ppl on tortimer island in animal crossing new leaf and racing w ppl in mario kart 7 :( i still remember when the wii shut down and i was like a day late to play the last online race in mario kart wii which broke my heart. it's sad how greedy of a company nintendo has become bc so many ppl still play games on the 3ds and wii u (even more than the games on the switch...) and they seem to only care abt money and sales now instead of the genuine love for making games and bringing fans together

To answer Poof’s question, many Wii channels have been discontinued in 2013. This included: Nintendo Channel, News Channel, Forecast Channel, Everybody Votes Channel, and Mii Contest Channel (Check Mii Out Channel), and then Wii Shop Channel ended in 2019.

as far as i know you don't necessarily need to homebrew your wii u to play online, i think you have to only change the dns

Good thing I got to play Wii Sports Club online one last time before the shutdown. It’s really sad that both the 3DS and Wii U will be losing the online services tomorrow, April 8th. It was fun while it lasted. Goodbye to the 3DS (2011-2024) and Wii U (2012-2024) online services and the games, Wii Sports Club and the first Splatoon game since both games will be affected by the shutdown. I first started playing WSC online in November 2022 and now, it’s ending. I’m gonna miss playing it this game so much. I know Pretendo is here to replace the Nintendo Network, but it won’t be the same. 😔

@@imnotahumanimamoron42069 Pretendo Network is basically a way to keep on plying Wii U and 3DS games online after the servers shut down. You need to mod your Wii U/ 3DS before downloading it which isn’t hard and just look up a tutorial if you wanna do so

Kind of heartbreaking to be honest. I didn't play much online for the Wii U though or 3DS. Still sad to see it go though. I didn't do much online play with the Wii U though because it was my siblings. And I didn't play it much. I played a little bit of smash online but that's pretty much it. Still kind of sad to see it go though. Especially seeing people post on the Miiverse. When my cousin was doing it and everything as well. Now you can't even do anything for Nintendo's newer systems but online communications. Sure they have an app where you can communicate but not as good. Just sad to see it go overall. 🥺
