The end of the movie was filmed near the north east end of the Richmond San Rafael bridge.

I've watched all 5 of the Dirty Harry movies, probably 100 times, and ive spotted different things over the years, but this video was very educational as far as how Magnum Force was created. My daughter and i were in San Francisco 3 years ago and we found some filming locations of these movies (much like they were back then). I remembered when we found the apartment building used as Harry's apartment in Magnum Force. It looks pretty much as it did back then, except the mailboxes, right inside the door have been replaced by a huge mirror. Any info on this would be appreciated. Was it there just for filming, or was it a permanent fixture, that was later replaced? If so, that was the only thing changed in the lobby of the apartment building.
