@@francisgomes9976 M4 CSL is over $140K now in Canada that's more than a new one at my dealership. Nismo is over $170K but has ceramic brakes. That would be a better head to head regardless of prices as long as they're in the same ball park. The GTR Nismo will smoke it. My buddy has a 2017 with a stage 3 with bigger Turbos and is close to 1K HP Lot of 800 HP around.

This drag race is about M4 x-drive comp which is around $80-$85k MSRP where GTR is $120k MSRP and M4 is a family sedan with useable back seats. Not sure why are you lying about GTR Nismo MSRP $200k now days.. What r u trying to prove here by lying? nobody cares about 1k+ horse power tuned cars, only some degenerate tuners..and social media clout chasing fools who can brag about it and leave their 1k+ hp car at the shop for repairing every other day.

Only a dumb person not paying attention would say that. You can see the hands are down. The problem is that these guys want to win so badly that they completely disregard the rules. I have heard him say: when hands touch the legs that’s when you launch. These greedy guys launch 🚀 when hands aren’t down yet.
M4 guy jumped. I wish Sam had a second person and stop the owners from racing. Very few guys are fair, especially BMW guys. They love to jump and win badly.

😂 the gtr in stock form is a sleeping beast. Look at tk23, it did the quarter mile in 6 seconds with 3500 wheel horsepower. No bmw can compare.

the SL is so quiet at speed despite being a convertible
5yr old gtr is still beating newer cars with high output.thats impressive being that the new gtr has 175more whp,n 200lbs more torque.
The M4 is heavier, 60hp less and still won ... The GTR is a great car but please stop being a fanboy...

3 different cars for 3 different kinds of buyers. I must say, the Nissan GTR R35 is a respectable platform. It still competes with modern cars. Hopefully the upcoming GTR ( if it's still coming) is going to continue shaking the supercar world like this car did 16 years ago.
It comes down to reaction times, settings or the cars not reacting to launch, etc. they are all pretty close.
So the car with the least power and smallest CC won the drag. 74bhp and 120lb down on the Merc. That S58 is no joke.
The m4 in reality makes 570hp at the crank according to numerous dynos out there. BmW has to lie and cheat to be competitive. Fair an square if the m4 did make 503hp it would be nowhere near that GTR an SL. GTR also is a 11.0s car 0-60 of 2.8s an german magazine tested on the autobahn an hit an astonishing 203mph. The benz is definitely superior to the M4 if the bmw had its true 503hp claim. Even a amg gts 503hp would take the M4 all day if the bmw only had 503hp like they state.

Yes! The S58 just seems to have an efficiency advantage in terms of getting the power to the wheels that no one can match right now. I have the B58 in my M340, the power distribution is as smooth as silk.
GT-R is something different, twenty yrs later and this machine continues to out shine today’s modern vehicles. Godzilla is real.

GTR was an amazing, ground breaking car when it was launched and continued to be for many years after but this test doesn’t really do anything for it’s legendary status. It (barely) beat a Mercedes-Benz SL, a grand touring car that although more expensive is mostly driven to the country club by older gentleman in South Florida. And the M4 (when it was an M3) wasn’t even close to GTR performance when it came out and has now surpassed it stock for stock. So if you look at it in terms of the GTR has basically gone from being an 11.5 car in 2008 when it was released to it being an 11.2 car 15 years later(!) it’s not much to brag about, especially when the other 2 cars during that time have chopped almost 2 full seconds off their performance
M4 eats gtr's lunch, regardless.
For nearly half the price of the Merc, that M4 is a budget one

You wouldn't trade it for a 911 GTS, GT4 RS, or GT3 Touring? 911 4 GTS would be a lot more fun to drive and destroy the SL on the track. Plus you can save a ton of $$ to get a daily for bad weather days, lol.

The sl did surprisingly well. I knew it wasn't gonna kill that much from a drag because of how damn heavy it is, but it rolled well.

@tusharaggarwal9115 SL is always not about performance. The SL name alone is already killing the GTR. Nonetheless the SL63 will kill the GTR at tracks. It's similar to the AMG GT Platform. It is like the slightly slower AMG GTR Roadster, which may even be faster than M4, let alone the GTR.
@@jamisonz3365you’re right that sl is not about performance then they never should’ve replaced gtr with sl. They should be placed separately in the market. And even though sl63 is based on the same platform it’s 265 kgs heavier than gtr so i highly doubt if it can even compete on track. As an amg fan, i am highly disappointed with these new launches. They are getting heavier and heavier whereas amg is supposed to be performance oriented
@tusharaggarwal9115 I agree with you on many parts. But the sl is not considered to be the replacement of AMG GT Coupes. Mercedes is working on the successor to AMG GT. The new SL replace three models (S63 cabriolet, old SL63 and GT Roadster family) Thus it needs to combine the three of them. As an amg fan I'm also disappointed with most of the latest electrified products. But in my opinion it is at least slightly better than the BMW M, Audi Rs, Porsche Turbo PHEV/EVs. I wouldn't buy either of them though.

It launches just like my 2008.. its just gentle you could say off the line and first gear into 2nd is a little slow but after that she really takes off.. worse part with ALL SL Mercedes is weight from the convertible top . its the AWD system, amg botched it, was supposed to be lighter than last gen and its 300 lbs heavier with a lot less torque.. my 2018 was faster on the open highway than the new gen

if you compare the times each other, the M4 was the fastest on the drag race and that s with the lowest HP.
Bmw always underrates. Advertised horsepower is Dyno numbers.

Lie lie show me a dyno where the GTR makes more HP than advertised. Jethro did a test with this same GTR on a dyno against the NSX but made only 530hp, the NSX had issues so it wasnt able to dyno. The GTR maybe didnt have the right fuel to make its full advertised numbers 565hp. Again show me a stock GTR makes more than its advertised 565hp in base trim. Once you do i shall send you the link to many videos where the m4 makes 570hp crank. The M4 will never achieve what the GTR has done. On track the m4 would get destroyed, on the nurbrugring m4 csl is the fastest bmw ever, and doesnt come close to the gtr let alone the nismo. A german magazine tested the 2017 GTR base premium an it achieved 203mph, years back the track edition was tested stock on autobahn also an it an amazing 208mph. Lets see your m4 come close to that in stock form, even with similar hp to a base gtr nowadays m4 570hp gtr 565hp weight very similar. Keep dreaming if you think your mighty m4 or any bmw for that matter will ever achieve what the GTR has ever done. Despite BMW lying thru the beaver teeth M4s mouth about their numbers. Even the new m2 makes 500hp at the crank. Dynos also prove it.

The Merc lost to the GTR mainly because of its heavier weight, 390lbs, which is a lot. Now then, Sam, yes you Sam, I have been comparing cars since the 70's and for the same engine displacement, most of the time, more like 90% of the time, Nissan's engines produce less torque than its rivals (Toyota, Honda, Merc, BMW, Mazda etc). This is evident when looking at the GTR torque output which is less per liter of displacement than Merc, BMW, Porsche etc.

The M4 Competition X Drive is seriously impressive for a car that can be had well under 100k brand new. People are complaining about car pricing these days, but 7-8+ years ago you would have had to pay well over 300k+ to get that kind of performance. And it would have been in a mid-engine super car with no practicality and meant to be purely a weekend toy. This is a legit daily driver with actual passenger and trunk space.
Good job guys. Great real racing where the cars are so close that just a little variation in launches can make so much difference. It’s great to see you standing on the gas and brake and just letting off of the brake when launching. That’s how to get the best numbers regardless of whether the car has a fancy launch control or not. Keep doing it on even the most basic cars you race.

Something wrong with that M4. Not sure if it's due to the driver manually changes gear, but it def. splutters after each gear change. Loos of turbo boost, bad gas, throttle control ... something does not sound right with it.

The SL is a gentleman's GT car, so its no surprise its not quite as responsive and tenacious as the other two. Low 11'2 is still rapid!

I wouldn’t shift yourself for the roll races. Pick a gear for the roll and put it back in auto for the fastest times possible.
These head to dead race comparisons are kind of pointless. It is very difficult to get near perfectly synchronized launches. You can clearly see whichever car goes first has a significant advantage. At least at a dragstrip you can see whether it was the car or the driver that won with reaction time 60 ft 1/4 mile time and MPH. You could do the same using draggy's in each car. Sorry to but you guys are terrible at synchronizing your runs, and when cars are this closely matched reaction times make a huge difference. So unfortunately I feel like we learned very little in these contests. If you really want to step up your channel either rent out a drag strip or use draggy's. Oh and if it is painfully obvious that someone either jumped the gun or was asleep at the line, don't even bother showing that garbage, take some pride and do it right.
