Brent, WOW those LS motors truly are the new 350s! Only sans points, condensers, carbs et al. You are absolutely the wiring guru who has probably forgotten more about car electrical circuitry than I'll ever know! Great video!
You are a flipping Wizard Brent, So much crammed into you head and then it starts right up and we are both laughing at the same time, you and me. I know when i had to rewire my 98 LS i was so worried, I triple checked the wires had my wife read out the pin and wire to verify. I turned the the key and it fired right up, I ran out of the garage and yelled "Its Alive"!!! My neighbor was rolling out his trash can and yells back are you OK Dennis? Oh it is so rewarding isn't it. Way to got great Job WOW! Another Hot Rod Birthing completed at HalfAss Kustoms. D
This guy is impressive
For my mind the editing is a great balance between periods of real speed detail with commentary and the speed up periods with music keeping the thread intact. The new shop has injected a new lease of life into Halfass Kustoms 👊
99-06 f150 fuel filter already has the male quick connect side on it. Don't have to make a steel adapter line. Good job on the wiring!!!!
Nice job Brent, you sure make an LS engine swap look easy. Man that car has an awesome body on it, can't get over how good it looks even underneath it. Can't wait to see you take it for "PEEL"!! Never get tired of seeing Pablo get excited when you are calling it a night. Love the way you always sign off to your viewers to..
Im always so impressed every time I see you wire up these engines Brent. So much knowledge.
this is Dane from okla. I have been watching you for several years, and you are always a joy to watch. you seem to have an outlook on life that everone needs even when your garage burnt you tryed to keep a smile on your face and power thru and not let it get you down. good job keep up the good work.
You are the master mind when it comes to LS swaps.. the quality of work that you do is top notch, very impressive..👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for your many videos, the effort is gratefully appreciated
Best LS wiring run-through yet, Brent.
Brent, Just enjoy watching you always pulling off another great video! You make everything you work on look so easy! A hood open with all those wires is like a plate of spaghetti! And you just put them where they need to go! Amazing work! Love seeing you in your shop! And seems like your dogs love being inside with you too! Keep up the fantastic work 👍🏻
For those asking about the taillights, I'd imagine the car is a Canadian Pontiac...for years auto manufacturers made minor changes to engines, grilles, lights and other trim and even model name changes.🇨🇦
The 1949-1954 Pontiac Shop Manual covers three series - 2500, 2700, and for 1954 only, 2800. This one, that you rightly call a Canadian Pontiac, shared a lot with the Chevrolet. They used the Pontiac flathead 239 engine, and along with the differences you mention, their dash was very like the one in the big series 2700. I've had a 53 2700 series, which we Canadians refer to as an American Pontiac, for years. Used to its dimensions, I keep thinking as I follow Brent's project, "Boy, that looks small." For one more bit of Pontiac trivia, in 1955 the Canadian Pontiac began a several years run using the Chevrolet 261 OHV 6, introduced in the 1954 Chevy trucks, as its base engine. This Pontiac is in great condition, and the Chevy power team should make it a great cruiser, and able to hold its own at the Stoplight 500, too.
Man you are a genius to hook all those wars up looks like a nightmare to me
Nice job,Brent... you're right about teflon tape its not very resistant to gasoline...look for sealant by Permatex...works well and not that pricey 😎👍
Agreed. I use it on all threaded fittings. Works great.
Brent , Never use the Word FIRE again, lol .... Especially in the Title... Thanks for your Videos, Just got in , Timing is Always Impeccable ... Kudos .
I just love it, how you have the LS swap down to the point where you are virtually certain that it is going to fire and run without issues. If you didn't have a small issue like that transmission coolant line leak, I would be suspicious. :-) Great work.
Nice work Brent, glad it started so easily, must be very satisfying for u. Well done.
Good job ! I'm amazed at how you always manage to get an engine running. I would be totally overwhelmed with the cabling. Greetings from Landshut / Bavaria / Germany
You make it look easy Brent. Nice job.
Hi Brent, you make everything look so easy, thanks for sharing so much of your knowledge, you are an inspiration to so many people. Thank you from Australia 🇦🇺
Always great music on the time lapse, and always enjoy watching you work in the new shop.
Hello Brent, thanks for the wiring tips and tricks. Learning a great deal from watching your program. Keep up the great job. Stay safe and take care. 👍
Great job Brent! YOU make it look so easy! I'll be watching!
Love watching someone that can work their magic on the computerized nightmare that is modern engines I'm still old school give me HEI and a carburetor
Oddly at seventy four now, I never gave it a thought about "LS" engine wiring. I worked on Grand Ams and GTO's in the late nineties or even two thousand models. I would have problems with lock up converters staying locked up so you could not start the engine without it trying to move the car. I would mess with it and then just get them going without fixing the problem. Now I know why as its so simple yet then, my world was thinking the transmission was messed up..... too late now but now I know..... looking forwards to see a burnout with this rig, provided this rear end is strong enough to handle it.
I'd like to watch an entire video of you cleaning stuff from the fire with your space laser. It's just fascinating to see!
The man - the myth!!! What a guru of fabrications!!!😊
16:20. FYI, fella’s……. That center block can be de-pinned and repurposed as your underhood fuse block. Can even reuse your factory fuses and relays, for a NO COST swap!
yeah, I’ve done that in the past there just wasn’t really the room under the hood for that set up
Just the center block, not the entire case @@HalfassKustoms
Love to have one a lot like this for sure. Crazy old Pontiac Dashboard speaker... love it.
Everything you talk about is relevant to us who are trying to learn. Another awesome video. Thanks!
Love your videos. You are a master on your work.
Simple for u ,lol amazin .glad that u still take us thru it..tks again..later gonna be killer ride
Brent 😊you are a one man army on these LS swaps.😅😅Great job
She's a runner. Nice work on all the various components. Look forward to the next one. Be safe and stay well.
Hey Brent, PTFE thread tape or goop is fuel and oil resistant. Also ac delco part#25121472 fuel filter or equivalent has the quick disconnect fittings already on it and also comes with the factory bracket for mounting as well. Hope this helps.
You are the best at what you do I always love your videos and cannot wait till the next one comes out Pablo is the best assistant ever
Hey Brent Gasola is what you need for gasoline fittings. Amazon has it. Love the new shop congratulations 👏
Great work , as per usual ! Hello from France 🇫🇷 !
You always make ls swap look so easy 😎
Every time I see LS swap, I feel like I landed on Mortske's channel.
When you flip the switch and it starts " SHE'S ALIVE " 😂😂😂
Wirering. Spaghetti. Octopus. All the same to me. That's why we have people like you to fix this package of noodles. Amazing how this is understood by some. There aught to be a law against more than one wire. Little Cheby looks quite solid yet.
Great video. I have a Ls out back in a van I bought new in 99. Rotted out frame at 120,000 miles. I took good care of it, with oil changes etc. I'll put it in something. Maybe my 72 elcamino! Thank Brent, u make it look easy!
You’re rocking and rolling now in the new shop. You put this together and got it running Just got to finish the details. And this man’s car will be ready to go! Thank you Brent! Great video. 💯❤️👍👊
If I ever want a LS swap it would be worth the trip to Canada to have you do it but don't stress, I'll never run one, great job as always Brent
Love your videos lots of information about the old cars
Great job thanks for your time 😊
When Brent gets in the zone he goes into another world. Do your thing bud geez.
Ict billet makes a piece the bolts on below the alternator to hold an idler pulley in the event of a manual steering box.
Brent, you are a LS Kahuna!!! Aloha from Hawai'i, Mama Leigh
Great work Brent , you make it look so easy…
That’s such a clean and cool old car, should be a nice ride!
Body very solid. Underneath. Sorry new. Strong. Thanks
I wish having friends like you ✋🏼
Pablo is pretty happy you got that thing fired up. Great video...
You make it look so easy.
Sounded like Christine pulling into Darnell's for the first time with no exhaust on it. Gotta love the CowDog zoomies when it's time to go inside!
Man you make it look so easy. It looks like you are getting settled into the new shop now. Always looking forward to your next video.
I just love the “weirdness” of Canadian built cars and pickups. Love the Chevy body to us in the lower 48. Love the Pontiac trim dash etc. we had a car show here in southern Idaho last summer and my favorite was a Canadian Pontiac 1954 2drHt chief. To us a 54 chevy hardtop with Pontiac grille hood and trunk trim and dash. I had a 1956 Pontiac Safari. Same as a nomad, but Pontiac. Wished I had kept it.
Let’s go. It’s time for another good one 👍👍
That harmonica at about 17:20 or 17:30 sounds like somebody is killing a crow. I like it!
Man this thing is SO CLEAN. Great ride.
Minty ! Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out . Later ...
Great presentation!
Great job Brent.. appreciate you and your videos.
Brent can do an LS swop in his sleep and it will run. Thanks for the great content. Take care.
Fantastic work
I feel watching you that “maybe” I could do an LS swap. Thanks for the info!
It’s alive, ITS ALIVE… quote from Dr Frankenstein
Awesome video as always. Nice to see you happy in your shop. Your loft looks awesome 😊
I just noticed at the end of this video as your heading for the door the tire balancer. That one is old. I used one exactly like that one when I worked in a service station in 1972-3.
Yeah been looking for one like that for a while haha. I like em better than the fancy ones.
King of LS 🛰🏁
I see (at 2:40) some writing on your alternator that states it's health? LOL!!!
Your tailstock is for an Atlas bench lathe. Dig the steady rest engineering 😊. AL B.
The only thread sealant I have found to be consistently reliable when subjected to gas, oil, kerosene or diesel is the Permatex brush on stuff, "80019", I think if I read it right. Gas just seems to eat up the plastic and silicone sealants.
just genius Brent...such knowledge you keep.... :) thanks for sharing...😀
That's a clean solid car for a '52 .
Could never get bored of listening to you man very interesting all the great information that you put out
Really like today's muzak, sounds like 80s detective muzak lol ❤
Simply amazing talent. Thanks for the video.
Cool stuff. Great video. Enjoyed watching ✌️ 😎

This almost makes me want to ls swap my 49 Pontiac. Almost hahaha. I just love the sound of my flathead six.
Awesome how you can put an LS in an older car and make it work like a new one Brent!
Brent I would love to own that car...but I need a rich husband to be able to afford a beautiful Lead Sled like you have right here... I Love the 52 Chevy's. My favorite Lead Sled!!! Mahalo for taking us along for the ride!!! Aloha from Hawai'i, Mama Leigh ❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Brent! Went smooth per normal. Good job. 😀😀
Nice job, sounds great 👍
Hey you’ve ran through wiring an Ls 3 or4 times with me. I learn sump-um every time. Keep up the great job
awesome thanks bret
Awesome Brent. 👍👍
musical inlay reminds me of So into you by Atlanta Rhythm Section.
Ahhhh, the satisfaction when all the wiring and plumbing goes well and the engine fires off with minimal problems. Heck what is one tiny tranny leak in the grand scheme of things. Now waiting for all the other "small" details and a romp around the snowy drive.
Wooow that's awesome kool to hear that run😊
Well that's awesome that you got the car running
Awesome vid.
Always impressive how you wire a car for an LS and then presto it runs!!
Sounds beautiful
I have seen early Chevrolet Novas called Pontiacs in Canada and Chevrolet motors in Pontiacs.
