    • Wow, night air mail that sounds scary. I’m assuming it wasn’t a big advanced aircraft loaded with avionics I saw a video of someone flying to DC three, and they were saying that their father used to fly these things at night through the weather with passengers with very basic, basic instrumentation, of course no GPS I don’t even know if they had VOR’s, but it just seems so scary. I’ve flown Payson and Flagstaff back to Phoenix at night once or twice single engine land and even that was a little bit unnerving that was in a diamond star D4 with a G 1000 so I had everything I needed but wow it was so dark. Even though it was VFR it was the blackest black I think I’ve ever seen.

  • Terrific as always. Has cheered me up after the unexpected death of the wife of a very dear friend who attends the online Church for which my wife is lead minister. Our congregation comprises people from the villages west of Cambridge UK most of whom would not otherwise be able to get to Church. You and your family remain in my thoughts and prayers. Your flying is a brilliant mixture of appropriate care and caution combined with real flair and panache. So enjoyable to fly along with you especially because after years of being flown all over the place to train teachers the air at cabin altitude in an airliner is too thin so my flying days are done. Thank you so much Ryan. God bless you and keep you safe.

  • 16:08 'a one way strip'. Wow. Surely you have access to the larger runway in the middle if you absolutely had to? The one you never seem to use?? lol. Many thanks

    @Biggaz1313@Biggaz13132 ай бұрын
    • Landings are performed on runways 35L and 35R and take offs from runways 17L and 17R regardless of the wind conditions - a one way strip. I imagine it's due to the terrain to the north of the airstrip precluding landings from that direction. Ryan mostly uses 35R of choice as it is closer to the Ethnos facillity and he has the aircraft and flying skills to use it.

    • That's the wonderful thing Ryan's taught us about the Wahgi Valley - it's quite wide so it's very often possible to get under or round the weather - amazingly even in my simulator. The Watabung Gap is so often clear as well when conditions look dubious. This is a great channel.
