@@MrOllie716 it all came about during a Minecraft series these two KZheadrs called BlueXephos (Lewis Brindley) and Honeydew (Simon Lane) made with eachother more than decade ago. The series started off with them just trying to play the game but it quickly took a turn, and discovered they weren't alone in that world. Sadly the series never got a conclusion but it's worth the watch, even just in the background. Anyway, the song we know today came from one of these episodes where the heroes had to dig for something, so Simon (I have no idea if it was scripted or not) said something like "we need something to sing while we dig..." Then, hilariously he belted out "I'M A DWARF AND I'M DIGGING A HOLE. DIGGY DIGGY HOLE, I'M DIGGING A HOLE". Absolutely hilarious and now it's spawned two proper songs that you can stream on Spotify or wherever you get your music. If you want to watch this series, just look up Shadow of Israphel, there should be a playlist that includes the initial "Survival Multiplayer" series, the "Survival island" miniseries and then the "Shadow of Israphel" series.

As a 5’6” construction worker, this song speaks to me.
I'm 6', but as an electrician who used to dig a lot of trenches by hand due to safety precautions, I love this song, and introduced it to my coworkers. We used to sing it while we were digging to lay pipe. We also had a parody version of Alice Merton "No Roots" we made up when we were on a wooded site that became a pain in the arse real fast. Hard to trench when you have to stop every 20 minutes to Sawzall through some tree roots.

I believe they are still uploading today but I haven't watched minecraft in years. In one of their videos they made a joke about digging like a dwarf or something allong those lines. They then produced a minecraft song called "Diggy Diggy Hole". Years after that release Wind Rose did a remake of the song using the same words and overall feeling of the song but made it metal. YOGCAST is just a group of content creators that made minecraft videos and were/are pretty popular.

Try listening to Gloryhammer, they have such songs as "the unicorn invasion of Dundee" and "the Hollywood Hootsman"

I always laugh at the fact that a minecraft meme song from the beta minecraft days has become more of a landmark song for dwarf-kind
for me it's just one of the Yogscast anthems. They still sing it at events during the parties. As this is just a great song to drink to and also feel conected to all the other lads and lasses.
